  1. Omg I think you may have killed me.
  2. Great photos, I love the under-supported look of Valravn. The crest of the lift just looks strange with no support there.
  3. I'm really excited for that first hill, the angle is ridiculous and it's more El Toro-like than modern RMC-like. I fully expect that hill to launch riders out of their seats in incredible fashion.
  4. This, and when you're going up that lift with the lights shining up into the sky for what seems like forever it really feels like the ride's going to take everyone on the train into outer space.
  5. But is it anymore than TTD? I thought both had similar downtime and I never hear people complaining about dragster. (I personally think front row rides make up for all of that) Dragster and Kingda Ka are on a leash now. They both break down frequently throughout the day but they're almost never closed for an entire day unless it's due to high winds or rain. Dragster itself breaks more frequently than Kingda Ka but only because it cycles about twice as many trains per hour thanks to Zumanjaro and the loading processes of each ride (Dragster loads 2 trains at once). Kingda Ka is also frequently unable to launch because Zumanjaro is broken with the retractable roofs up but maintenance usually makes quick work of that.
  6. I would expect them to be in Camp Aventura for sure.
  7. Okay so everyone stop whatever you're doing because the cuteness of this is more important... and I don't throw the word "cute" around lightly, or really ever... ----------------- Unusual Litter Mates Being Raised Together at Six Flags Great Adventure: Adorable Tiger and Lion Cubs Spots and stripes have taken over the nursery at Six Flags Great Adventure’s safari as the veterinary team welcomes a Siberian tiger cub, the first tiger birth at the safari in 13 years, and an African lion cub. What makes the situation so unique is that for the first time, the team is hand raising the two fuzzy, female “big cats” as one litter, despite being two species that would typically never meet in the wild as they are native to different continents. “Within a week, two first-time mothers gave birth to healthy cubs but failed to care for them, so we stepped in,” said Dr. Ken Keiffer, a Six Flags veterinarian. The lion was born Nov. 19 and weighed 3 lbs., and the tiger followed on Thanksgiving and weighed 2.4 lbs. The Six Flags veterinary team became surrogate mothers to the cubs, feeding them up to six times each day. According to Keiffer, the two are doing very well and have yet to be named. “Raising the cubs together helps to develop their socialization skills, and will enhance their chances of being successfully introduced to their own species at the safari when they are a bit older,” Keiffer said. The cats play, eat and snuggle together, and are also learning to find their voices and personalities. According to Keiffer, the lion cub is much more relaxed while the tiger cub is far more dominant and vocal. Siberian tigers are on the endangered species list, and tigers rank as the world’s largest living cats. Approximately 3,200 are estimated to live in the wild. The new cub is the fifth Siberian tiger at the safari. African lions are the second largest living cat in the world, number less than 19,000 in the wild and are now being protected under the endangered species act, said safari Director and Chief Veterinarian Bill Rives. Several healthy African lion cubs have been born in the Six Flags safari during the last few years, and the new cub is the 20th lion at the safari. - See more at: https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/newsroom/january-12-2016#sthash.SiMOFfab.dpuf
  8. Yeah as long as it's optional I'm good. I'd try it once maybe but I'd be much more interested to ride the coaster the way it was intended to be ridden. To me it makes no sense to build a flying coaster full of low to the ground elements and then put a screen over your face so you can't see any of those elements.
  9. I'm guessing painting is easier with the colors together. Probably but they painted it last year I believe. It's funny though, they actually run it like that every day. Does anyone know if there's a reason for that or if they just do it for fun? They never did it until a few years ago. lol And yes, I'm talking about the Sky Ride again. Shots for everybody!
  10. This, so this. I've always found Dragster and Kingda Ka to be underwhelming in every row but row 1. There was a point where we went years without riding Ka because it wasn't worth waiting for. Then one day we got there early and figured we might as well ride it since it didn't have a line yet and as we were the first people in the station we went to row 1. Ever since I've never ridden Dragster or Kingda Ka in any other seat, it's absolutely mind blowing in row 1. Every time we ride it up there we just look at eachother when the ride is over trying to figure out WTF just happened to us. Of course it's now a must-ride on every visit. PS: Row 1 is also perfectly smooth.
  11. You need more Knoebels in your life...
  12. God that's tough because I don't know where to put SORA. It's really hard to compare that to other rides. This is the best I could come up with, no sarcasm. I resisted the urge to put Tango #1. 1) Skull Mountain 2) Pointsetta Peak 3) The Waffle Cart 4) Skyway 5) El Toro 6) Safari Off Road Adventure 7) Batman 8) Nitro 9) Kingda Ka (Front Seat) 10) Saw Mill Log Flume 11) Zumanjaro 12) Bizarro #1 (Get twisted) 13) Superman 14) Sky Screamer 15) Choo Choo 16) Dark Knight 17) El Diablo 18) Parking Lot Off Road Adventure 19) Root Canal 20) Getting hit by a truck 21) Green Lantern My list is actually serious except the Top 3. In reality I'd put Skull Mountain and Skyway between Superman and Sky Screamer, this is the real list... 1) El Toro 2) Safari Off Road Adventure 3) Batman 4) Nitro 5) Kingda Ka (Front Seat) 6) Saw Mill Log Flume 7) Zumanjaro 8) Bizarro #1 (Get twisted) 9) Superman 10) Skyway 11) Skull Mountain 12) Sky Screamer 13) Choo Choo 14) Dark Knight 15) El Diablo 16) Parking Lot Off Road Adventure 17) Root Canal 18) Getting hit by a truck 19) Green Lantern
  13. ^ Great picture. By the way they're so damn OCD with that Sky Ride. Look at them lining all the green cars up together, lol.
  14. Oops, sorry Robb. My sentiment remains the same however... holy crap! It's incredible watching this park transform from a small F.E.C into a major amusement park. I'm thrilled for them and I'm not sure what this says about me but I'm personally more excited about the Sky Ride than anything else. It's great to see a park install (presumably) a brand new one.
  15. I mean... Bojangles fries are just crappy soggy fries with Old Bay on them which makes everything good (sorry I mean the Bojangles special spice blend which is basically just Old Bay). Chickie and Pete's already has that only the fries themselves are better and it comes with cheese and that's already in the park.
  16. Ride Volcano first, then Flight of Fear, then you're golden.
  17. ...I mean we can go back to talking about the moral beliefs of a fast food restaurant if you'd prefer.
  18. We rode it a few years ago, scariest thing I've ever done... even the CN tower edge walk has nothing on this.
  19. Oh me neither... but you can just sense the greatness just from looking at it. It just emanates from the ride.
  20. Nitro last weekend. It's funny, those of us in the Northeast used to hate this thread all winter. Now we can't get here fast enough to say Nitro.
  21. We can't. There's nothing of interest to talk about until that boat comes back.
  22. I also go to immerse myself in a wonderful, beautiful fantasy world. I dont want to be reminded of terrible chicken like what they have at Coasters Drive in... so I'll miss Chick Fil A. Cedar Point's chicken doesn't belong in my fantasy world because the only thing it makes me immerse myself in is the bathroom. I don't agree with anything Dan Cathy says, but that Chicken though... In all seriousness though whatever, I just hope they bring in another outside franchise that's decent (so not Popeyes) because anything Cedar Point makes in house is truly awful. And before another Midway Market fanboy appears, yes I've tried it. Yes it sucks.
  23. Tango is greatness, I refuse to listen to anyone who says otherwise.
