  1. Same. It's a far superior ride (though I enjoy both).
  2. Chick Fil A blows Popeyes away... It's not even comparable.
  3. Oh yeah I'm absolutely talking about Holiday in the Park, though El Diablo is a fun little ride and I do like it quite a bit more than I expected to. Edit: Wow speaking of Holiday in the Park I just now realized that every Friday in December will be an operating day in 2016! The park will be open from 4 to 10 each day according to their website.
  4. I'm not sure what to expect out of Total Mayhem but personally I look at it as icing on the cake anyway. We've had 4 straight years of awesome new additions from 2012 to 2015. I don't see how anyone can be disappointed.
  5. 3 days? Are you sure you don't want to go for one day and then maybe go to Hershey and Knoebels or something for the other two? If you're going for more than one day Fastlane is unnecessary unless you really, really hate lines.
  6. Wow, those new 11:00 closings are great to see!
  7. Add another one for Six Flags' most explosive coaster...
  8. Any climate allows for year-round operation if you simply don't give a sh*t. Great Adventure is proof of that.
  9. I think they expand to include Blackbeard and Total Mahem... That's it. Staffing is hard to come by and why increase your overhead for no reason? If they never expand it and keep bringing it back in its current form I'd be beyond thrilled.
  10. I'm not sure if anyone saw this yet but the 2016 schedule has been posted. There are now two bonus weekends in November so they won't take a break at all, and most importantly Holiday in the Park will return!
  11. This is off topic but Tower of Terror and Superman Escape from Krypton have an incredible ability to make people completely forget they exist. It's really unheard of how much nobody cares about or acknowledges them.
  12. Kings Dominion and Hershey are both great options. Six Flags America on the other hand is not.
  13. In my opinion just about every coaster is better at night, but The Beast is by far the best night ride on any coaster ever. No other ride changes that much from daytime to nighttime. While nothing can even come close to the Beast, honorable mentions go to Boulder Dash and Millennium Force.
  14. Yeah they scaled back early entry quite a bit. They added Valravn but they removed Rougarou, Raptor, Iron Dragon and originally Maverick. They've added that back though (probably due to tons of complaints).
  15. Yes! Kings Dominion. It's infinitely better than Six Flags America. If you go to Six Flags America instead of Kings Dominion you'll never forgive yourself. Kings Dominion is actually one of our favorite parks. It has some great, very unique coasters... it's very clean and well landscaped and actually has trees in it. None of those things are true of Six Flags America. Busch Gardens Williamsburg might be a bit too far but it's a great option too. Seriously, don't go to Six Flags America instead of Kings Dominion... don't do it. The parks aren't even close to being on the same level.
  16. I believe Nick Universe but that's a strange case and that's the only one I can think of.
  17. The logical part of me would say that they would never open it, and actually they may not even open the park in these types of temperatures but it's Great Adventure so it would surprise me in no way if they just sent a train up the lift and hoped for the best. There probably comes a point though where even if the ride could run the weather would dictate that the ride would no longer be enjoyable for guests and they may leave it closed. For example 2 years ago when we were there in the sleet and... You know what they'd send the damn train. And I love them for that.
  18. We've been there when we had to park in the grass in the overflow lot and I'm sure the waterpark was a mob scene. The waits for Hydra and Talon were insane that day too... We probably waited almost 3 minutes for them.
  19. Are you high? Even comparing this park to Kings Dominion (or any other park anywhere short of maybe Lakemont and Conneaut Lake) is an insult. Six Flags America is slowly improving but it's still terrible.
  20. Yes. I strongly suggest upgrading to the Season Pass as soon as you get there as it's a great deal. The best thing about it is that it's valid at all Six Flags parks. As soon as you process the pass, leave immediately (no need to get a handstamp) and get on I-95 North and go to Great Adventure.
  21. Every coaster at Dorney, all day...
  22. Lol yeah I've given up trying to figure out what's going on with Batman. My only guess is that they put some faster wheels on it that it probably didn't need anyway and now it's running so fast that it feels like it's trying to rip the track apart. Still butter smooth and just so damn awesome. I actually feel like the coasters were all running at a good speed throughout the event, Nitro had some days where it crawled for the first few hours of the day but then it got up to speed as it kept running. Maintenance had their hands full yesterday with Nitro and Superman but they'd probably take that over that 456 foot tall tower of downtime over in Golden Kingdom. And yes, it was a tremendous honor to ride Skull Mountain with the president of the Skull Mountain fan club / cult. Now we just have to suffer through the ridiculously short off season, lol.
  23. Now that Holiday in the Park is over I just want to say again that Great Adventure did an unbelievable job with this event. We got to spend the day yesterday and had another great day (and it was awesome hanging out with Boldikus all day too). Every visit we've had to Holiday in the Park has been excellent. The lights are great, The shows and decorations are great and maintenance should be commended for keeping those rides running throughout the entire event. Sure it's been a warmer than normal year, but the fact that they managed to run 4 B&M's through January 3rd in New Jersey (when temperatures dropped into the 20's at times and high winds were a common occurrence) is amazing, and never once did any of them close because of low temps. Great job by everyone that helped make Holiday in the Park happen. It seems like it was a tremendous success for the park and hopefully they bring this event back year after year.
  24. No. And thank god for that.
