  1. I love that idea simply because it's an indicator that the Great Adventure event was a success. I would think that they would just open the front of the park though and that's a shame since the only good coaster that would probably be open would be Wild One. I don't see them expanding back into Gotham City because then you'd basically have to open the whole park, wouldn't you?
  2. Buy one get one all day ride passes on opening weekend... We don't usually go on Opening Day but that's tempting.
  3. The lake is already starting to freeze up (though it's impossible to see that now with all the snow), it's not looking good.
  4. I'd respond but all that will do is steer this conversation further and further off the rails and I honestly don't even know what you're yelling about over there. You just keep on keepin on.
  5. ^ Yeah I'm out of here. This has just turned into a bunch of enthusiasts trying to convince themselves that their opinion is more important than the opinions of the other guests that go to the park. All they care about is getting a return on investment, they want a ride that increases revenue, attendance and as a result share price. They don't care about living up to the rides in enthusiasts wet dreams or if you think a ride on the other side of the country is better than Millennium Force. If they care so much they'd be building RMC's and Intamins but oh look, B&M after B&M. The year they built Gatekeeper enthusiasts did nothing but bitch. "The restraints hurt", "It's forceless" and guess what. Attendance went up FIVE PERCENT (which is incredible growth for a well established regional park in a single season) because the world doesn't revolve around coaster enthusiasts. You're not special. Keep complaining, the rest of us will enjoy the ride.
  6. I hope so, I can't tell the difference between a troll and a typical whiny enthusiast any more. the internet must be taking its toll on me. Lol
  7. I'm sorry I swear I'm not trying to be mean but I can't even begin to try to figure out what this paragraph is attempting to say.
  8. I've never seen a regional park held to such ludicrous and unattainable standards. So the problem is that they have too many coasters over 200 feet and since they now have basically every kind of coaster rather than build the few they don't have yet they should invent new coasters and build those. But god forbid one of them was delayed or didn't live up to the hype I'm sure that would be a problem too. People bash "the GP" (a term I basically refuse to use) but if I worked in a park's PR department I think if rather deal with them than some of these enthusiasts any day. And by the way I'm not calling out any one person but everything I just said was a real complaint that was made in this thread in the last few days.
  9. If you were spending tens of millions of dollars on a new ride, wouldn't you want a ride that's guaranteed to be a hit, guaranteed to be reliable, just about guaranteed to be open on time and offers a cool new experience that non enthusiasts will find completely awesome and will be shared constantly on social media (the holding brake) leading to great word-of-mouth advertising? Of course it's a conservative, smart investment. What's wrong with that?
  10. Did you miss all the pages of people complaining about how forceless dive machines are, and how they couldn't belive that Cedar Point would get a coaster like this... back when it was first leaked that Cedar Point was getting Valravn?? I didn't miss it, I just think it's ridiculous. Over the course of 4 years this park basically added 3 great new huge B&M coasters. They're not Maverick or Millennium Force, but they're great rides. If you want to fight me on Rougarou I really don't care. They turned a lawn ornament that may as well have not been there since we never ever rode it or acknowledged it's existence into one of the best floorless coasters out there. That may as well have been a new coaster. They're adding a huge dive machine and I don't know of a single person in existence that doesn't like Sheikra or Griffon and they added a wing coaster with an incredible first drop and an awesome visual element over the main entrance. Personally I think it's a great ride that (while not Maverick or Raptor) does what it's supposed to do very well. It looks great, it has a killer first drop, it's very smooth and it created a smooth ride experience that simulates the feeling of flight. They also revamped the Gemeni midway in this time (adding Pipe Scream, Eagles and Slinghot), made Hotel Breakers a decent hotel and to shut whiny enthusiasts up they added softer straps to a coaster that was already awesome and smooth. I'm having a really hard time thinking of a park that's added more than Cedar Point in that time-frame, all of which are really solid additions. So no, I don't get the whining. If you want relentless intensity, Maverick and Raptor are waiting for you but I think everything the park has done lately has really added to their already insane collection of thrill rides and I couldn't be happier. I think everyone will be very happy with Valravn based on the ride experience of Sheikra and Griffon. The only people that are going to complain are the people that had ridiculous expectations going in.
  11. What did my liver ever do to you? It did nothing to deserve this.
  12. I enjoy Griffon and Sheikra. Both are the worst B&M coaster in their respective parks but they're both great rides. I enjoy B&M coasters, they're all a lot of fun (except the stand ups) but I don't expect this ride to blow me away. To be fair though I said that with Fury and it absolutely made me eat my words. That's the only B&M built in the last 5-10 years to do that though. Even if it's not "OMFG Amazing" it'll still be a ton of fun and an awesome addition. I don't know how anyone could complain about Valravn.
  13. Having a pass to Great Adventure isn't a reason not to get a Dorney pass but seriously... get a Six Flags pass. A membership is 7 DOLLARS and 25 CENTS per month and you can ride El Toro, the tallest coaster in the world and a ton of other rides that are better than anything Dorney has. Plus you can ride Nitro in January... what are you waiting for? lol Here, welcome to the dark side. We have waffles. ... or just go to Knoebels
  14. By the way, speaking of food it's a great idea to eat before going to the parks and if possible wait until you leave to eat dinner as it will save you a ton of money. There are 2 exceptions though, Knoebels and Dollywood. These parks have unbelievable food so just go on an empty stomach and eat everything. At Dollywood absolutely, absolutely, absolutely eat the cinnamon bread at the grist mill (the building with the waterwheel) and I suggest Lillian's for lunch or dinner. At Knoebels I wouldn't even eat a meal, just keep eating throughout the day. The must-eats are Caesari's pizza... This will have a long line but there's a reason for that, the Pierogies (make sure you get them by the Alamo at the front of the park, not from anyone else) and the ice cream waffle sandwich. Tri Taters are pretty good too, they have them at the place with the spinning roof over by the Paratrooper. By the way, DO NOT MISS the bumper cars or flyers at Knoebels. Basically every flat they have seems similar to the ones other parks have but just assume the version Knoebels has is running a much better cycle and is a much better ride. Most American corporate parks run crappy programs on their flat rides but Knoebels will restore your faith in flat rides. You're welcome.
  15. I'm not shocked by this. Last year they were whoring that thing out, making it free with Fastlane, one dollar if you had a pass and just two bucks for everyone else and there was still nobody riding it.
  16. I think the best part about that ride was when you yelled that the ride ops actually stopped the train because they were confused about why someone was yelling. They were so surprised to see actual enthusiasm they panicked and didn't know what to do
  17. I feel like pretty soon Knoebels is going to start sending me commission checks. Lol
  18. If you're going to Six Flags America and you're not going to Knoebels then you're doing something horribly wrong.
  19. Eh, I don't know about that. Nothing will ever take that #1 spot as its really the greatest drop in coaster history but I think El Toro might also edge Zumanjaro. For me I'd rank El Toro #2 and Zu #3. #facetheintensity #tapdancelikeaskeleton
