According to Screamscape, Knoebels is just replacing Galleon with a new one from Zamperla.

I love how we're all talking about how Thunderhawk needs a re-tracking and how we're worried it won't get one and then this GCI rumor comes back. If they get a GCI, the same thing will happen. It'll go to hell and they won't re-track it. They can't take care of one wood coaster, why do you want another one?

I'm wondering this too honestly. If this post is coming from an 18 year old then it's hilarious and I hope this thread goes on for days but I'm pretty sure the original poster is about 8 years old and then I might give legitimate advice. Lol I'm torn here...

Seriously though just ask... what do you have to lose? I don't really get why this is a big deal.

If Great Adventure was a Cedar Fair park then we wouldn't be able to ride Nitro when it's 29 degrees and windy in January so Cedar Fair can go screw. If they keep letting us do that then I don't care if they re-name every coaster in the park "Batman's Takis Adventure The Ride" sponsored by the Jersey Boys and throw cheap props and Takis ads everywhere in the park.

When we went a few years ago Apocalypse was one of the best rides in the park, it's a shame they let it go to hell.

Everyone has their own opinions and experiences but I never found SFNE clientele to be all that bad, I actually think they have a better crowd than Great Adventure does (except for Holiday in the Park of course). I would say their staff and the SFA staff are about equal but SFNE is a much better park.

Oh yeah there's no doubt this will be a huge improvement. I think it's an excellent addition.

It's a shame she fell and hurt herself but sometimes people fall, it's not always someone else's fault. People suck.

^^Yeah but Coyotee Creek is one of the few areas that could look awesome at Christmas with all of those buildings. It's a charming area and I would hope they'd leave it open. I'm sure they could get staff by the way, but if crowd levels aren't there then you'd be losing tons of money. My concern is more about keeping operating expenses low to help make the event successful financially than staff availability.

I do feel like this park has potential. Right now I see it as a terrible park, but it is improving (it just hasn't improved past the point of terrible yet). If they could just work on the back half of the park to make it look less like it was built in Rollercoaster Tycoon by someone who was just trying to beat the scenario and couldn't afford scenery objects then it would be a decent park. Everything in front of Wild One is perfectly respectable.

Theyre replacing it with a much better ride but I never thought Shockwave was that bad for a standup. I would say it was good but it didn't start to suck until after the helix and by then the ride was basically over. I'd rather power ride that thing than ride Green Lantern, Riddler or Mantis in its previous form once. The only standup I prefer is the Carowinds Vortex (which is the only standup I actually enjoy riding).

Lol yeah you really can't beat the Rehoboth SeaDragon. I've always loved that thing.

That's a major staffing commitment though. Even if they close off Batwing they basically need to staff the entire park, something that Great Adventure was able to avoid which helped them reduce overhead / risk. plus there's nothing to decorate back there unless they just throw some strings of lights on the grass. There are no trees or buildings... Lol Maybe they could just close off the path by the round up and force everyone to go through Whistlestop park to get to Superman but that still seems like a ton of extra staffing.

Yeah Dorney's is a Chance. You can't beat those SeaDragon or Pharao's Fury models since they give you floater air in the end seats.

I feel bad laughing because I actually feel really bad for Michigans Adventure locals. I guess the good news is you're not too far from Cedar Point or Great America.

Shockwave's station was really quite nice. It reminds me a lot of Fahrenheit's station.

Is galleon an unpopular ride? I've never ridden it because I find every swinging ship ride not made by Chance to be kind of lame, but I'm surprised they'd remove a ride with such a small footprint that (I would think) wouldn't have many mechanical issues. If the ride is popular I wonder if they're looking into a larger model as that zamperla model has the lowest capacity of basically any swinging ship in existence.

Oh god yes. And this is coming from someone who bashes SFNE more than anyone.

This level of confusion and feelings of "wtf!?!?!?!?!?!" just mean you've arrived at the Cedar Point thread. It's perfectly natural.
