Dollywood Discussion Thread

^^Those 2 companies deserve it. Dollywood doesn't. Pete has been awesome to the enthusiast community even though he had no obligation to be because coaster enthusiasts are insufferable and Dollywood has always excelled when it comes to customer service. They're just as frustrated by this as you are, most likely more. -

I thought of Lakemont but he'll probably be driving by those parks when they're closed and he's in a hurry to get to the next destination. Really I'd suggest the original plan plus Knoebels. Then if you want you can remove a day at KD and either spend it at BGW or Great Adventure but that's up to you. Other than that I wouldn't over-complicate things. -

Flight of Fear is a criminally underrated coaster. -
I have a new drinking game idea... go to the Sky Bar and get a good view of Nitro. Then pull up the Fury 325 cam on your phone. Every time Fury rolls out 3 trains in the time it takes the Nitro crew to send one, chug until a Nitro train appears. I'd imagine the paramedics would have a busy day that day.

Or the other way around. That doesn't even make sense. Don't get all uppity just because I call you out on your endless barrage of asinine posts. Relax, have some fun. No need to take anything personally, it's a theme park forum.

Get your last rides in on Nitro. 3+ hour waits are coming soon. Per CJ at the Great Adventure Connoisseurs group (who generally knows what he's talking about) they're testing headsets on Nitro to see how comfortable they are on the ride. It's a new style which should make loading less terrible but we all know how that'll probably work out. If this happens I won't be back until Holiday in the Park.

This thread is unbearable lately... -
I overlook Dorney because it's surrounded by parks that are better in every way. In the steel coaster department. Great Adventure and Hershey are killing them. In the wood coaster department, Knoebels and Hershey are killing them and Great Adventure has the best wood coaster possibly anywhere. In the flat ride department they're an hour away from the best collection of flat rides at any park in America or maybe in the world at Knoebels. Hershey is no slouch either. The thing they used to have was a theme park and water park for one admission price. Knoebels has a great pool and a few slides but nothing like Wildwater Kingdom and it costs extra. Unfortunately though Hershey added a state of the art water park that's included with admission so they really can't even go on that at this point. There's nothing wrong with Dorney but it's surrounded by parks that are far superior and nothing sets them apart.

But you're also spending extra days at single day parks. You don't need another day at Kings Dominion or Carowinds. So if you want, move things around and go to Great Adventure for a day. It's not essential though... Knoebels is. If you have one day at Great Adventure you WILL need Flash Passes though. Then it's entirely doable in a day. Or you could take day 2 at Dominion and go to BGW. That's easier and cheaper and it's a better park except for in the coaster department. -

That sign has always been there and nobody ever has or ever will pay any attention to it. -

I've got to be honest. Unless you hate lines I don't think you'll need Fastlane passes at any of the parks you're going to... even if you cut KD or Carowinds to one day. If you do want to treat yourself, I'd do it at Cedar Point one of the 2 days but even then it's not 100% necessary. You'll have plenty of time to do everything. Also, I'm really, really tempted to bring up Six Flags Great Adventure even though I assume you don't have a Six Flags pass but I imagine you don't want to go down that road because of the added expense and the fact that you would actually need Flash Passes in that instance. If it were me though I'd cut a day at Carowinds for Knoebels and a day at Dominion for Great Adventure because they're both absolutely one day parks. I understand why you wouldn't want to do this though and you've already added Knoebels which is the most important thing. The other thing you could do is add a day at BGW but again, it's an extra expense. The plan you have now is the most cost effective. -

If they get rid of Falcon that would actually kind of suck. I love that ride.
