  1. I have a thing for Anaconda. I really sort of like the thing. It's ugly as sin but I don't find it rough.
  2. I doubt there's a formal agreement. Dorney just chooses not to actively compete with any other local parks voluntarily.
  3. I just looked up the Ultra Tower. That looks ridiculously complex. I love Intamin to death but I'll bet anyone a hefty sum of cash that this thing has a delayed opening and is ridiculously unreliable if it turns out to be what they build.
  4. Impulse coasters do the same thing to me. I still love them though.
  5. You'd think that and you'd be wrong. Disney, Universal and the entire Busch Sea World chain (until next year) has a grand total of zero wood coasters and they're doing just fine. Nobody cares except dumb enthusiasts.
  6. good catch. The fact that I forgot the name of the waterpark probably just backs up my point though.
  7. Repeat after me... Theme Parks Do Not Give A Single Sh*t About Wood To Steel Coaster Ratios, Anniversaries Or Bull*** Coaster Feature Quotas Like Number Of Inverting Coasters Or Stupid Sh*t Like That ... God damn
  8. It's Hurler. First of all we know something is going on with it. Second of all they announced it by posting a picture of Dramamine talking about how they're "really going to need this". I hate when stupid enthusiasts look for Easter eggs where they don't exist but this is pretty cut and dry. Coasters that make you "hurl" require Dramamine.
  9. Nobody here cares about the waterpark so you might be better off calling the park. Or just going to the theme park and avoiding Hurricane Harbor like the plague...
  10. I consider them both to be average inverts (though all inverts are awesome). I might prefer Great Bear but not by much.
  11. Can't miss at BGT: - Back row of Kumba, far right seat (closest to the exit platform... I can't stress this enough) - Back row of Montu - Cheetah Run presentation. They're amazing animals... seriously. The pet show is also very good. Iceploration sucks balls.
  12. Great report so far! Knoebels and Beer is an ideal combination.
  13. Excuse me, they're not air gates. They're ridiculously stupid, inefficient, moronic, pain in the ass magnetic gates. If they were air gates that would make sense.
  14. Dorney fans are delusional. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. "Something with ejector airtime", if you want ejector airtime close to Dorney I suggest you get in the car and gun it over a few hills on the way to Knoebels. That way maybe you won't have to wait until you get to the Phoenix to experience actual airtime. Reports from Dorney yesterday pointed to people parking in the grass lot and "insane" crowds but this was the line for Talon in the middle of the day despite them filling the overflow lot on an overcast (so not obvious water park) day. Coasters aren't the major draw no matter how much you want them to be.
  15. My "most fun" coasters are also my "top" coasters because I see no need to rank coasters on anything other than how much fun they are since that's the entire point. I don't understand people making them 2 different things. So for me, rides that come to mind are Fury, Millennium Force, Maverick, El Toro and Phoenix.
  16. We went to BGT today also and heading to SWO tomorrow. BGT was better than I expected. In my opinion BGT is the best park in Florida. Take your mouse and shove it up your a** Disney.
  17. It's a great park, probably in the middle. I would put Cedar Point at #1 and then lump Kings Island, Carowinds and Kings Dominion together and put them in any random order (I can't decide) and then put Wonderland after them, then Knott's, then Dorney at the rear. It's very comparable to Carowinds and KI. Of the 3, Kings Dominion is the prettiest park and has the best atmosphere by a huge margin. They also have the best non coaster rides by a big margin with rides like Delerium, the Crypt, excellent, swappable Flyers, Windseeker, a good Boo Blasters, Eifel Tower and the best Flume of the 3 parks. Kings Island probably has more high level coasters but KD is no slouch and i305 is better than anything at KI unless it's night time and you decide to head to the back of the park to see what all the screaming in the woods is about at KI. Dominator is one of the top floorless coasters in the world, Volcano is awesome, Flight of Fear is top class and rides better than it's counterpart and they have a ton of fun supporting coasters like Backlot Stunt Coaster, Avalanche and Grizzly. KI is like a parallel universe KD that has a bunch of good rides but is honestly ugly in comparison. The tree game is strong at KD. KI should follow their lead.
  18. You're a terrible Pennsylvanian. Great report by the way! The fact that you have to ask for permission to take pictures on the Sky Ride is ridiculous. Love the pointing of course
  19. It's always good to go to Goliath as soon as possible. Ask if you can wait for the front. Sometimes they let you and it's a lot of fun. If they say no, prepare for a beating. But yeah, go to Superman first. Then go there.
  20. You need to ride Wildcat the same way you ride Mean Streak. Otherwise it'll be horrible. Front seat, lean forward.
