Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I never realized that was during Halloweekends. Jesus by day, dismembered bodies and severed heads by night. Sounds like a good time. -
Great report. I'm glad the seatbelt trick and the Mean Streak trick worked. Also this... ... it's a little corny but I also feel exactly the same way. By the time you get on Millennium Force Cedar Point absolutely has you convinced that you're about to ride the single greatest coaster on planet earth. And honestly, I can't argue with them. I love the hell out of that ride.

Robb nailed it. They have a non-riders line. If the standby line is over 15-20 minutes just get in the non-riders line. It's worth a short wait for the exhibit because it's really good, but the ride is very mediocre. It's cute I guess but there's no real point to it. By the way, on a similar note is there a way to bypass the asinine pre-show at Wild Arctic? I know you can skip the simulator but you still have to watch the stupid movie. Is there a way to bypass all of it?

This post combined with your avatar is making my head explode. Also, FRONT SEAT, LEAN FORWARD, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS? And yes, Grizzly is very solid but we always use that trick which makes it butter smooth. Hurler and Rebel Yell do nothing for me. Both are amazingly mediocre. -

Yeah you could do that or you could just go to any food stand at any amusement park in the entire country and ask for a cup of water and they'll provide one to you for free, usually with ice. I'm always amazed by how many people don't know this trick. It seriously works at every single park in America. Go to any stand with fountain soda and they can give you water. We do it at least 5 times a day when we're at a park. -

Get a Fastlane and use it exclusively for Shenandoah Lumber Company. That's probably what I would do. -

Yeah, I've only experienced airtime on Chance ships. -
You know it's funny--I applaud parks for opening rides the last hour of the day because they didn't give up and know there are still people that want to ride it. Good for them making the best of a situation. This. I don't know why anyone would complain about that. Six Flags deserves a lot of credit.

I'm sure that's more involved than we think, and remember the trains don't have chain dogs so they would need to be changed pretty dramatically to remove the equipment for a LIM launch and add add chain dogs / anti rollback equipment. Plus they have a lot of money into this launch technology already. Then again I have no clue what would be involved with that or what's actually wrong with the ride so I'm not going to speculate too much. I'm already speculating more than I like to. -

I guess that would indicate they are waiting on another part or fix? Who knows. It's a complex ride and there's a lot going on here. The rumor now is that the canuter valves are all screwed up, the LIM's are going through LIM fluid like nobody's business and the PLC is running through the Pokemon GO server before relaying back to the ride units so it could really be anything. -
Pokemon GO at Theme Parks!

Not to worry, your tin foil hat should keep you safe from the microwaves. I've noticed that very few people on this forum care about 17th century European fashion styles and how catalytic converters work too. I'm not sure if I can put my finger on why that would be. Some have suggested that it's because this is a f**king Theme Park Forum and that maybe that could be the reason but I'm not buying it. -

great report. -
To be fair what are we supposed to talk about? They're building a new haunt building for another mediocre understaffed haunt that'll probably suck even though they can leave it up all year so it should really be amazing. Stinger is probably down for the rest of the season (I haven't been paying attention but it's a safe bet), Thunderhawk's new trains have somehow failed to draw the hordes of additional revenue we were all not predicting and there's no sign of any meaningful addition for next season. Every once in awhile another hopeless dreamer will show up talking about a GCI and what we can move to make room for it. Then we all laugh at him and crush his optimistic dreams sort of like when Charlie overheard uncle Joe saying that someone found the last golden ticket to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory but they want him to have "one last dream" but now he can't because his dreams have been crushed and he no longer has any reason to live. The only difference is that in the morning the hopeless dreamer will wake up and instead of realizing he has the last golden ticket and the other one was bull***, he'll instead be greeted with the same sh*tty dinosaur attraction and no new GCI.

And this is one of the reasons why FastLane+ just isn't enough for us when we visit Cedar Point. . . We needed something that allowed a little more. . . "less waiting." Thankfully we found it. Jumping queue rails and telling people that your "friends are up there"? You savage... -
