  1. Nice to see you ended your Cedar Point trip on such an amazing attraction. I'd go back for one last ride on Sky Ride too.
  2. Colossus at Heide Park in Germany... but an RMC Mean Streak would be a steel coaster anyway.
  3. It's always a shame to see an Enterprise removed. They're great rides. This is wild speculation but if they removed Dinos and used the area where the Enterprise is for a turnaround they could have a huge front gate coaster. I don't see it happening but it does lead to some fun speculation.
  4. 1) They probably don't care 2) It wouldn't be a wooden coaster. 3) You have no idea if it's practical. You're not an engineer. Neither am I. Let's leave it to the people that know what the hell they're talking about.
  5. You most likely don't need a strategy. Ride Volcano and Flight of Fear first and then lines will be manageable. What day(s) are you going?
  6. Okay I don't even know where to begin... Based on what exactly? People said the same thing about Texas giant which was a really similar layout. None of us know what they have planned and none of us know dick about the intricacies of RMC conversions so let's stop speaking with great authority on things we know nothing about. Please... Where the hell did these numbers come from and why would Cedar Point care? Also they extend heights to their coasters all the time. See Wicked Cyclone. This was the only thing you got right in this post... By my count they have 28 non coaster rides ranging from family rides to thrill rides (excluding kids rides). That's a huge number. Yeah but they're not because they're RMCing Mean Streak (they didn't spray paint a ton of footers just for fun and it follows the pattern of other conversions). Also, nobody cares about coaster enthusiasts. They bitch about everything regardless of what it is and make up a minuscule percentage of park attendance.
  7. They didn't mark a bunch of supports so they could tear the ride down. This has to be an iron horse conversion. Pay attention people, this reminds me of when they were power washing and even painting Mantis on webcam and people still acted like they were getting rid of it.
  8. Wait I'm confused... isn't September 16th a Friday night during Halloweekends with limited ride availability? Is that closing day? Why would they even want to staff it that day and if it was open Friday why wouldn't they run it through the weekend? Anyway I'm excited about the news. I like Mean Streak and I LOVE watching enthusiasts get pissed off about it's very existence but an RMC would be a major upgrade (if that is indeed what's coming).
  9. It is not logical to say the suckiness is universally accepted when the ride continues to have a line on mildly busy days. I should have specified that I was talking about within the enthusiast community. Very few people have anything good to say about it. As far as regular guests between the fact that some people's minds are blown by the idea of standing up on a coaster, the fact that many guests are first time guests and the fact that the capacity is very low given the fact that they sent the third train back to Magic Mountain and don't staff the ride properly it's not a surprise that it gets some type of line.
  10. Yeah standups are really all about body types and heights. There's no full proof strategy. Your mileage may vary but unlike other standups where there seems to be a difference of opinion it's almost a universally accepted fact that Green Lantern blows.
  11. Alright so if you're okay with skipping credits then you can make due with one day. Let me say this. If you haven't ridden Dragster either and it's your first rocket coaster don't settle for any row on Kingda Ka but row one. The ride goes from rough in the back few cars to "wow that was fun" in row 2 to "OMFG WTF JUST HAPPENED!?!?!?!? in row one. I know you won't want to listen because you'll be in a hurry and you'll see a long like for row one but just to for it. When full the front row queue adds less than 30 minutes and it's entirely worth it. I'd head there first thing and then ride Zumanjaro because it's line will be totally manageable. Other tips are to obviously ride El Toro one row from the back which won't add to your wait time at all because everyone crowds the front of the station even though the back is better. Ride Skull in the absolute last row, ride Bizarro in the absolute last row. On Nitro sit sort of near the back but go for the shortest line. Green Lantern is a terrible coaster. If you're okay with skipping coasters then skip this one and ride Batman even though you've ridden it before because Batman is great and Lantern is sh*t. Batman's line is usually manageable. As far as Joker. Don't make this a priority unless you get a Flash Pass Platinum. It's fun but if you miss it the world won't end. If you do something like skip the front of Kingda Ka to save time for Joker you're doing it wrong. Finally. I love Safari and think it's one of the best rides in the park but I won't bother since you don't have time for that at all. I would however suggest the parachute drop. It's not going to change your life but it'll have a 5 minute wait or less and it's the only ride of it's kind in the country. Also, if the line is manageable don't underestimate Runaway Mine Train. It's a fun ride, much better than say Dark Knight (but ride Dark Knight because it never has a line). You're not wrong for skipping Supermn. It's fun but it generates huge lines. Have fun. Hopefully the crowds are manageable.
  12. ^ Okay. I'll bite. I should probably load up on Disney and Universal rides but more likely than not get ready for a bunch of Flumes and Knoebels flats. I'm not counting up charges even though I'm tempted to include skyscrapers and that sick Kissimmee sky coaster. 1) Safari Off Road Adventure (Six Flags Great Adventure) 2) Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (USO) 3) Zoom Floom (Morey's Piers... I'm on a Zoom Floom high after riding the crap out of it yesterday with the fiancé and Boldikus. Lol) 4) Shenandoah Lumber Company (Kings Dominion) 5) Scooters (Knoebels) 6) Pirates of the Carribean (WDW) 7) Flyers (Knoebels) 8) Haunted Mansion (WDW) 9) Amazing Adventures of Spiderman (USO) 10) Giant Flume (Knoebels). I almost said Splash Mountain but I'm a sucker for actual log Flumes so I went with this despite the insane theming of Splash. I'd rather be in a single file log going through the woods. Lol Honorable mention to the chairlift at Lake Compounce.
  13. I didn't actually hate this ride! It didn't headbang or anything. Probably because I kept my head forward. But either way, I didn't find it rough really or anything. Just painfully on the legs, but that's all stand ups. Nice report. If you get a chance to go back check out Kingda Ka row one. It's worth the extra wait time. No guarantees on this but probably not. We went Friday night for a few hours and got on Flume, Skyway, Nitro, Batman, Joker, El Toro twice and Kingda Ka row one all in 2 1/2 hours. About a month ago we went on a Sunday and got on 5 rides in 12 hours. Crowds are unpredictable but generally large and if I were a betting man I'd say you'd miss some things. I won't even guarantee you'll get on all the coasters but what rides besides those rides are a priority?
  14. Knock out Ricochet and Nighthawk early. All other lines are very manageable most days and no strategy is required.
  15. It's both at Lakemont Park and a Toboggan roller coaster. Two negatives making a positive? This guy is savage. I love it because Lakemont deserves it.
  16. Kings island didn't steal anything..... Of course they did. It was payback for Cedar Point stealing the dive coaster from Canada's Wonderland. Paramount parks gotta stick together.
  17. Don't worry everyone! I made it... Behold....
  18. Kings Island's flume isn't going anywhere.
  19. I'd like to see some of these come out and compete with the RMC T Rex and B&M loopers. Some healthy competition in the mid size to large looper category (which B&M is currently owning almost exclusively in the United States) would be great for the industry.
