  1. Great pictures! I'm loving these trip reports.
  2. You'll have a much more enjoyable day by not riding it.
  3. The super 8 near Kings Island? Ew. we made that mistake once too.
  4. I do. It's my job. And regarding Coaster Studios I have no issue with him at all. I just don't consider him a useful source for information because obviously he's not exactly an insider. His videos aren't really my cup of tea but he seems like a cool kid.
  5. This is terrible advice. Do not listen to this person. Go hard or go home. Seriously though, you need to ride it in the front and draw your own conclusions. It's okay in every seat (unlike Kingda Ka) but It's absolutely mind blowing in row 1. One or two people might disagree but very few people would deny that riding Kingda Ka or Top Thrill Dragster in row 1 is infinitely better than in any other row. Some may not do it based on wait time, but you need to experience it and decide for yourself.
  6. It works on most 2 bench PTC's but some coasters just suck so much that there's no helping them.
  7. Yeah I don't see any B&M ever matching the intensity of an RMC or Intamin. I think Fury is a complete package with high intensity, great laterals, high speed and great airtime which is why I love it because it really has everything. That being said if your preference is heavily on any one of those things in particular you'll find an Intamin that surpasses it. I305 for example is more intense, Maverick has better laterals, El Toro has better airtime and Kingda Ka tries to rip your face off in the front row so it's all about personal preference. I just love Fury because it seems like a sample platter of all of my favorite coaster elements. Interestingly enough I do think a few B&M's can compete with Intamin in the intensity department but they're decades old at this point and I never see them doing it again. Montu for example rips into the pretzel in the back row with such ridiculous ferocity that I don't completely understand how it doesn't kill everyone on the train. I really wish B&M still did things like that.
  8. That's a matter of opinion. I think Fury can go toe to toe with any of them. I think it's much better than Skyrush (lol Skyrush sucks, hi Boldikus) and I305. I give El Toro and Maverick the very slight edge over Fury but it's really close. I've only ridden one RMC so I can't comment too much on that but I don't even think Wicked Cyclone (as great as it is) even belongs in the same conversation as Fury 325. Fury blows that ride to hell. Fury is the exception though. That's the only coaster they've built in 15 years that even comes close to being as good as the vast majority of Intamin coasters. And I don't expect everyone to agree with me but it's not like I'm saying anything all that radical. I've seen a ton of people on this board list Fury as their new #1. I'm as critical of B&M as they come (for example, I think Banshee is forceless and overrated as hell... same with Leviathan) but Fury is an elite coaster.
  9. No. They don't pair people at Dorney. Not only is there nobody else to pair you with but it's not their policy anyway. It's only a few minutes. You could break up the uncomfortable tension by telling your new friends all about this crazy A$$ dude you know that rides flumes in 40 degree weather.
  10. I don't understand what you mean when you say it can be "too cold" for a log flume? That's not a thing.
  11. ^ Sorry I read this and everything else you said just got drowned out after.
  12. You should have plenty of time to ride all the coasters and the other must-rides (Demon Drop and Thunder Creek Mountain). Shame on Boldikus for leaving out the flume. Clearly he learned nothing last weekend about their greatness (but this one in particular is really cool) Oh and ride in the front seat of Steel Force or it blows. They should let you bring a pillow into the other rows so you can take a nap.
  13. Heresy!!! Kraken is far and away the most unique Floorless coaster, taking into account its location, the multiple underground tunnels, and its perfect execution of elements! Overrated??? Most people would say Dominator and Krypton Coaster are better, so even though I disagree with that valuation, I think it's hard to say Kraken is overrated. I have it in my top 10 (of over 230), and I stand by that ranking! I'm a huge fan of the Floorless coaster model as well, ranking the aforementied Dominator and Krypton Coaster very highly in my personal ranks. But while Dominator excels at being just a basic, awesome layout (with killer rides in the back row), and Krypton Coaster has the unique topography and huge vertical loop, I feel Kraken does everything well layout wise, and then adds the fabulous tunnels and setting to give it an edge up! To each their own, but I simply don't see how anybody could say it's just like "every other floorless", when it has such clear distinctives that set it apart. Fair enough. I wish I could see what other people see in it but to me the just all blend together. It could be that we generally do Busch Tampa and Sea World back to back and I'm subconsciously comparing it to Kumba... I'm not sure. And I can't believe I'm praising this coaster but I would actually give the title of "most unique" floorless coaster to Hydra. While the ride experience is very forgettable, you can't really argue that a floorless that starts out with 3 consecutive barrel rolls, does a barrel roll before the lift hill, has a first element that doesn't invert, has no midcourse and ends with a single corkscrew is really unique. B&M broke the mold entirely with Hydra but sadly it didn't really translate into an amazing ride.
  14. After my most recent visit to the park I think any Six Flags park is more attractive to visit than SFStL. I don't think you completely understand how terrible La Ronde is. Don't look at the ride lineup online, don't watch POV's... you really have to experience it to understand.
  15. Honestly this isn't a bad suggestion either but come back and wait for the front later. Riding in any other row gets you the credit and means you technically rode the coaster but you didn't really experience Dragster without sitting in the front row. I can't even put the difference between row 1 and any other row into words. The line will be much longer for row one but there's a reason for that. There's a reason people are willing to wait an extra 30 to 60 minutes for row 1. Oh and pro tip... go to the front (left) station when you wait for the front. You get a great view of the ride and a nice breeze which makes the queue experience much less boring and much more comfortable.
  16. It's funny because it's true. Then again, I think people will go for the tallest tower regardless of the ride experience. As far as the queue, you'll obviously have your choice of tower at some point, the question is whether or not they'll split later in the line or start at the beginning. If it splits later on then the Reeses tower will likely be unable to even fill the ride vehicle but if it starts out as three separate lines then it might have a minimal wait full of people who would rather ride the good tower but don't want to stand in line for it so they decided to settle. And as far as the comments about people complaining, I haven't seen too much of that. I'm confused as to why one of the three towers exists but I'm looking forward to riding the Hershey's tower when I'm at the park. I'm not complaining at all (though I wish they didn't have to remove Flying Falcon but I totally understand), I'm just confused. And due to how unpopular S&S towers are after the first year or so I'm excited about having a ride at Hershey that I'll be able to ride with very little wait.
  17. Lol I never said it would work on Timberwolf. I said it would work on Mean Streak. But how far did you lean? You only have to lean enough to keep your back off the seat back.
  18. 50 bucks says it's one of those used flat rides they picked up. If we get a used Troika I'll laugh so hard I might suffocate.
  19. That means a lot coming from TPR's resident Gif master.
  20. Oh god lighten up and relax a little. I have no idea how old you are but if you're over 21 go have a drink or 12. eh, you were the one typing in all caps and extra large letters. i was merely saying i disagree. you got all "YOU PEOPLE" up in here. i'm currently sipping a Palo Santo Marron. more of a winter beer, really, but quite tasty any time of year. again, just my opinion. I started writing a long response about how I at no point insulted anyone or typed in all caps as you implied (not that it would matter if I did) and why you shouldn't be offended but then I realized that if you were offended by something I said that was entirely non confrontational then I really can't help you anyway. Carry on. I should have known better than to come into this dumpster fire of a thread.
  21. Oh god lighten up and relax a little. I have no idea how old you are but if you're over 21 go have a drink or 12.
  22. Let me tell you a tale of a magical land called Elysburg, PA...
