  1. Understood. What I mean is it doesn't make SFOG look good when their safety systems are *only* what's minimally required. If the park would have took it upon themselves to simply add another fence around the low zones in case something went wrong with the perimeter fence, I think it would be more of a cut and dry case. It would have shown that they went above and beyond to protect the guests safety. I'm not standing up for the kid at all, I'm just trying to understand why the plaintiff even thinks they have a case. I'm totally siding on the park on this issue. How far are they supposed to go? What if they had three or four fences and he jumped them all anyway then what would that money have been good for? Nothing. SF has no reason to go above and beyond with their fencing because obviously one fence is enough for smart, self-preserving people.
  2. Who wants to bet that if the parents do sue that some dip**** lawyer takes that google photo and says, "Six Flags is clearly negligent in safety, as you can see here they leave a gate wide open into a dangerous area as if to say, 'Come on in this way!'" I'd vomit but it'll happen I bet 50 bucks on it!
  3. Aww my pic got deleted, ah well it was 90% to happen. Anywho great updates Robb!
  4. ^^I agree Unless McDonalds said "Hey lets make our coffee 4000 degrees and in a breakaway cup so this lady burns herself" Then its the ladies fault for not being careful. There needs to be a common sense clause that rules out any case in which the victim could've avoided the "tragedy" by using some common sense. It's hot let it cool, The RV CANNOT drive itself, The roller coaster is dangerous if you aren't where your supposed to be, You fell through the skylight trying to commit a crime so you shouldn't have been there. case closed ::gavel:: (this is what I would've said as a judge even it it got me fired)
  5. For reference I bought SIX flags stock at 1.81 three weeks ago and in 3 days sold it at 1.94 and its been dropping ever since but it did drop a little more then usual today but I don't think this had as much of an effect as it may seem, especially considering all the markets have been dropping a lot lately with increasing Oil and Oil stock trades.
  6. I can think of three 1. Mindbender because of non-recognition and short lines despite ejector air in the front seat and a "fake" drop from great rack layout design 2. Hurler because it may be rough but it has great airtime and high speed banked turns 3. Blue Streak because of already mentioned reasons
  7. GC was a bit of a back breaker when I rode in the back but I'm sadistic and enjoy when that happens for some reason. Still got great airtime on that coaster no matter where I sat.
  8. IMO as long as the fence can keep out those who would wander in without knowledge of the danger, 5-6 and under, mentally handicapped, etc., then the fence is fine. Unless you put up Jail style barbed wire (circular) then you won't keep out a stupid person that wants in. Electric is out of the question because if a random kid (again 5-6 and under) or a person hits it on accident then the park might get sued anyway for their electric fence.
  9. Viper SFGAdv. hands down worst coaster I've ever ridden and nothing will top it unless I get stuck upside down in a loop ::knocks on wood::
  10. ^^Yeh I know but it was just for fun Anyway, I had Six flags stock and sold it last week and I'm glad I did because it'll probably go down this week.
  11. ^^LOL Just saw the 5'Oclocker on FOX and the guy called Goliath Gladiator. Stupid media knows nothing!! Anyway, If SF went under and was bought by say Cedar Fair, what do you think they would rename the rides that are WB named? Batman --- Nighthawk Superman's --- Falcon Kingda Ka --- Super Top Thrill Dragster (just cus they could! )
  12. Seeing this on the news this morning made me so angry. Angry at the stupid way America has about reporting these things. They say words like "Victim" to make us feel bad, and Victim is the right word but used for the wrong person. SF is the victim of a stupid teenager. I'm sorry but I feel no remorse for this kid and I will not feel for the parents if they sue. I'm 90% sure they will sue because parents can NEVER live with a dead child unless they have someone to blame. They can't blame and punish their child because he's dead so they will blame the park or the church, both of which are wrong. I can't stand how Americans (myself included sometimes) get sucked into feeling bad for the "Victims" of these "tragedy's". I for one am glad that he will not be able to breed more people of his intelligence in life situations. Lastly when I saw it on the news this morning they were APPALLED! the park was open today rather then closed for investingation. WEll Batman is closed today and car factories don't close when a dumb teenager crashes one of their cars so yeh good for you SF stay open and don't settle, these parents don't deserve ANY money from you or the church. /end rant Edit: For reference I consider a tragedy in situations of death to be when the person that dies has no control over their death (faulty ride, hit by drunk driver, murdered). This is by no means a tragedy in my mind, just a stupid kid with an invincibility complex who deserves what he got for pretending like he could do anything without a thought for his own life.
  13. The best part of this was being able to practice reading my Russian letters! I've been learning and I can read Russian easily, slowly, but easily I just can't get all the words yet! Oh and the parks were ghetto!
  14. Alpengeist Dueling Dragons (1 shirt both rides) Nd thats it crap I thought I owned more well my vote is false then! LOL
  15. Everyone who voted for coasters placing above my favorite is a blind fanboy!!! ^-^
  16. ^ heh that is really weird, well I will probably be taking another visit to catch Thunder Road and I'll take that advice and ride it!
  17. I take it you did not ride the Flyers then? If your talking about the Skyflyers, no I didn't because I couldn't afford it, but I have gone on such rides in SFGA and Kennywood and had I ridden it, it would have been my favorite. If your talking about the little kiddie Danny Phantom Flyers, which I doubt you are, then no lol. The non-coasters I rode were Screamweaver, Action Theatre and Scooby Doos haunted mansion!
  18. I like rough woodies (giggety?) ^ yeh ill be hitting up SFOG and Dollywood this summer as well with a return visit to my favorite one, probably SFOG since I've been there and like it
  19. So today was the first time I've ever visited Carowinds and I was pretty happy with the park, sorry I have no photos but maybe I can provide insight and answer questions about the parks operations this summer! Well here's my summary. Favorite Coaster - Afterburn. This coaster was plain fun! Second - Hurler. I loved the speed in the turns, the airtime, and the roughness! Biggest Letdown - Thunder Road was closed! They were doing some kind of construction I didn't ask what was going on sorry! Biggest Ride Letdown - Nighthawk. It was my first laydown coaster and I just wasn't impressed. It bugged my neck and was a little rough. The loop was fun but I just didn't like it overall, maybe I expected too much. Biggest Suprise - Fairly Odd Coaster. For a kiddie coaster it had a little airtime and decent speed, I was suprised! Favorite non-coaster - Action Theatre. Just some fun 3-D spongebob action! lol So the operation was pretty good especially on Afterburn. The line never stopped and they were pumping trains out even with people running through to put sandals and other shenanigans on the platform. Nighthawk was slow but I think that is because people get confused with the restraints and it was only an hour wait anyway so it wasn't too bad. I think my favorite thing about the park is all the lines are in the shade or are covered, it just made the day a little less...hot! More of a summary then a report but feel free to ask questions! My park rating 8.7/10.
  20. My vote goes to the super capacity car because thats the one I laughed the longest at! Elissa's was a real close second.
  21. -You get a new computer and immediatly find a coaster wallpaper before anything else -you do above even though its a loaner computer you have for only 2 weeks -you hear "Immelman is leading at the masters" and wish you were riding a coaster -you get a new internship that pays really well and the first thing you do is search for parks to get season passes for around said internship.
  22. Hey Dbru that Thunderhawk was really good. The headchoppers off that one turn brought back such memory! Since only two other I saw I'd vote yours because the Hydra was pumpy and slow and Talon had red G"s
  23. Just bumping this since I updated it!
  24. I hate you all... because I have never been to this park and I reeeeeeeallly want to go, but alas I live in NY and or Blacksburg, VA when at school and am just a poor college kid. I will be making money this summer but will only have time to go to local parks around my internship. Sorry off topicness!!! Great update Jahan, I haven't commented on this thread before but I have been watching it in hopes that will somehow magically whisk me to the park!
