Of course the PR director was going to give "PR director" answers during a Q&A session with a bunch of coaster enthusiasts. Did anyone really think he would talk about unannounced major projects or talk about the future of a ride that's going to be the source of tons of lawsuits that almost killed someone that they themselves might not even know the future of? Come on. Of course nothing of substance was going to be discussed, that was not the point.3 points

Six Flags has replaced Season Passes with Annual Passes chain-wide. This is a good move since it makes no sense to sell calendar-year passes in markets that operate year-round.2 points

TO ADD: in an example of what a fantastic park SFFT is, and the Management team there, I've already been reached out from the park Mgmt, to thank me for my comments, and noted that: "we are hopeful that napkins and other guest amenities will return to guest facing soon." So I really hope that this is just a short term thing! But honestly, I'd be fine if just a few napkins are automatically handed when serving the food. Regardless. . this is why I LOVE this park!2 points

Fantastic news: work has resumed on Primordial and there's been really significant progress. The future of this ride was looking bleak for a little while, so I'm really glad to see this.1 point

Funny that the timers stop at 299 seconds. They could use more digits here. 40 minute line for 3 switchbacks. Anyway, got that coveted back seat ride that was the reason I travelled all the way back here. No doubt a better ride than the front with a few spectacular airtime moments. But I still can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed still, especially when people were putting it ahead of Steel Vengeance. I'm still not sure it's even the best coaster in the park. The death roll is incredibly overrated...basically just a high speed barrel roll and Kumba just laughs at it. Best moments are the last two airtime hills before the brake run. Park seems reasonably dead so should get a few rides on all the other essentials plus a few more here. Was going to stay till closing but I'm staying at the "Hotel Breakers of Old Town" (aka the Comfort Suites right next to Mine Blower) and I need to go get a few rides on the 2nd best coaster in Florida tonight.1 point

great visit to SFFT yesterday with my friends Sean and Amy despite the heat (I think it hit 104), so lots of breaks in the shade, or inside a show. The good thing is that the Waterpark does drain almost all of the crowd from the dry areas once it's open. . so even on a Saturday when the parking lot was packed, most rides were very reasonable with short waits or even close to walk ons. With a couple of exceptions: both being the water rides. and Iron Rattler. some heads ups for those who haven't been to the park recently and are going in the next couple of weeks: - Iron Rattler is one train ops (sounded like an issue with train 2, and train 3 hasn't been delivered yet). So that one gets a line fast, and will hold the line all day. if you're solo make use of the single rider line, or buy flash pass. Otherwise it seemed to be pulling hour+ waits most of the day. - the water rides are full to overflowing, and all the waterfalls/squirters are on. so you WILL get soaked on both Bugs and Gully Washer (not a complaint, I mean why else ride a water ride? but just a heads up). - the whole park is not open until Noon (even tho gates are at 10 and rope drop at Los Festivales is at 10:30). So if you get there before noon, only Los Festivales (Goliath & Boomerang), CrackAxle (Roadrunner, iron Rattler, Daredevil Dive, Gully Washer), Spassburg (Carousel & Bugs - tho it didnt' open until later in afternoon) and DC Universe (Superman, Supervillain Swings, Joker, and I think the kiddie area) will be open. Whitewater Bay (waterpark), Rockville (Poltergeist, WW, Batman, Hustler, Scream, school bus, taz tornado) and the Boardwalk (Wave Runner, Pirates, Pandemonium, Spinsanity, Hurricane Force 5, and the Super Loops) dont' open until noon. - Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger is looking amazing, and is coming along great. The train was (briefly) on the track during our visit, and I suspect water dummy testing will be happening soon. the queue is coming along nicely, and I suspect will be done by end of June at the rate they are going. . if not sooner. we were there on Deaf Awareness day, and it was so wonderful to see so many interpreters on most all the "big" rides, signing the announcements for everyone. And Rockin at Rockville High was absolutely fabulous, with two ASL interpreters on either side of the stage just rocking out while signing the show/songs. I think it's the best show I've ever seen in the park. some pics from the day: Gully Washer Queue is SO good for getting great pics of Iron Rattler. and it was pretty full too. . . (more water in the ride and in Bug's Flume, than I've ever seen in decades of going). it was great. this is what I expect from a water ride, and was not disappointed (and that's why I always bring baggies with me to parks) they had one of the trains on the track today, but didn't get to see it on the lifthill. .where folks were up there working to get this sucker ready! I've seen and heard a lot of complaining about meal options removed from the Dining Plans recently.. but there are still lots of good options avail in the park! and if eating at Sangerfest Halle, gotta ride the Carousel. I mean, it's right next door! the 30th Anniversary revival of Rockin at Rockville High is *so* good. . and added bonus? inside in the A/C with padded seating/bench backs. added bonus was the ASL interpreter on our side (we were the Sophomores in our section), who was emanating pure joy (and looked like he was having a ball) during the performance. the cast sticks around after the show to pose for pics if guests would like them (and people were lining up, because yes, the show is that good) and I discovered this for the 1st time (new?) snack option - Pineapple float. Pineapple Ice cream, Pineapple Juice, Sprite, and chunk pineapple. . . it was really good. (and a bit sticky) bet it would be fantastic with some rum added (Amy went and checked, and the bar at the pizza place does sell shots of rum..but decided for $15 for a shot (and the heat of the day) it would be a mistake. so just enjoyed as is. the we waited in the queue for Bugs (it was about 25 minutes), but when I found out Amy had not only never been in the queue, but she'd never even ridden it? Yeah, was all in to wait. and we even convinced Sean to ride with - tho he was still wet from Gully Washer earlier, and REALLY wanted to dry out. so. . ..yeah. (after this pic was taken, we had to sit down in the sun and take our socks off to dry -- as at the top of the drop, no kidding, about 5" of water filled up the bottom of our log. . LOL) more pics of Dr. D's Cliffhanger. Looks like it's gonna be so amazing.1 point

I primarily use my oven with a pizza steel most of the time, but I also use my kamado grill with lump charcoal outside with a pizza stone when doing 'wood fired' pizzas and want higher temps. My oven will go to 550F, but I can get my kamado up to 800F or so! So it depends on the pizza style and what we are after! Recently I even tried my propane grill, just to see the results with a pizza steel on the rack. It did OK, but the pizza steel gets too hot and burns the crust quickly (just like when I tried it in the kamado). But the next time I did it using my pizza stone (ceramic) and it worked out much better, but not as nice as the oven or kamado. But it is a nice third option if lazy to fire up the kamado or it's super hot/muggy out and don't want to run my oven at 550F for 1.5-2hrs inside the house (1hr preheat to get the stone nice and hot!). Not the best pics, but our most recent pizzas! Was actually trying to make "Chicago Tavern" style for the first time, but need to make some tweaks to how thin I roll the dough (touch thick here), but the texture and everything else was incredible! Dough was soft yet had a delicate crispy crunch on the bottom. Just needs to be a thinner. So will do another trial this week or coming weekend, maybe a par-bake of the crust itself to get it a touch more crackery. But one was simply italian sausage, onion and bell pepper. The other was (turkey) pepperoni and black olives, so no little pepperoni cups this time with the turkey variant, haha. For those 'cups', I buy a pepperoni log and cut my own pepperoni. The cups are actually caused by how the pepperoni is cased, actually. You can buy pepperoni already pre-cut that will do it as well, but cutting your own a touch thicker than those pre-cut options results in even better 'cups'! Also a few from the past few weeks: 1.) Sausage and red onion with fresh mozzarella. 2.) Cheese primarily with a pepperoni added on each slice. Red chili flakes. 3.) Gyro pizza - I seasoned raw sausage with greek/gyro seasonings and then we had red onions on there as well. Finished with fresh made tzatziki sauce and cilantro! Was madness how good this was! Next time, I want to make a proper gyro meat (beef/pork mix, made into a compressed 'log' and sliced). But this was a great trial!1 point

St Louis still had napkins and utensils out for customers yesterday.1 point

Same issue here at SFoG. Same reason given too: customers were taking too much (condiments or napkins). Geez...its not like the park is not making money off the food at the park prices. (I have a dining pass for the remainder of 2022 so it is just an annoyance for me.) I even remarked "all guests are being punished because of the actions of a few". I do hope this is temporary.1 point

^ they weren't Jalapenos. . they were bannana peppers and were SO good. and I got the Fried Mushrooms for the table, not knowing that when Joel said he'd eat them that he'd try one, and decide he didnt' like the mushroom "earthy" taste so it was mainly me eating them - they were so good as well. . . and recall, I DID take that last piece of chicken with us and had it one night later in the hotel . but yeah, was not used to eating so much fried stuff in a 48 hour period.1 point

I had to cut out day-two of the event due to waking up with a headache. Guess I wasn't ready for all those laps I got the previous night, lol. 5 on Raven, 5 on Legend, 1 on Voyage (unfortunate, but okay with me), and... wait for it... 10 on Thunderbird! Why? Because I love that coaster to the moon and back, and missed out on riding it at all last year (it was down during HWN '21). Plus, ridiculously easy re-rides! Got multiple rows of re-rides without needing to get out of my seat, including closing out my last 4 laps going front-row right side without getting off! Such a fun glossy smooth coaster with a good kick on that launch! I think Legend is running at its best! Relatively smooth in comparison to the other two coasters, which surprised me! Though I only got 1 trimless ride on Voyage, it still did not disappoint! Such a relentless roller coaster day or night! Raven was fun too, but I feel like it's beginning to get some jackhammering on the bottom of one of the last turnarounds. The park choosing to limit attendance felt so much like the event did in some of the earlier years I've attended the event. Getting walk-on or in-station waits for most of the event up until everyone packs the queue for Voyage near the end of ERT! In comparison to the previous couple of years where attendance jumped, and the basement queue had to be used for Voyage. I'm sure this year was certainly a breath of fresh air for management and selected attendees. I guess we'll see how next year is handles, but I do hope more folks who couldn't go this year get the opportunity to next time!1 point

Prices for the ferris wheel have been announced and they're actually not too insane. The wheel will open on April 13th and will offer incredible views of the Jersey Turnpike and the roof of the mall.1 point
