  1. Because Lake Compounce already got rid of everything else...

  3. Yeah, the difference to the rider between I-Box track and the current track is really minimal. The only major difference would be that the ride would actually be open when you wanted to ride it and when you were in line for it you could hear a bunch of obnoxious enthusiasts bragging to everyone who was willing to listen that they rode it with the old track and it was way better.

  4. Did they happen to mention how heavy that train is?

  5. At least there's hope Lake Compounce will add something when they finally clear all the land around the lake and presumably make the park a full loop. Because removing a bunch of trees and clearing a bunch of land only to not use it would be as illogical as transferring the second train onto a roller coaster while the other one is on the circuit.

  6. These tiers are designed to give people false hope but these metrics aren't realistic anywhere but the most rural areas. It just sounds better to give people false hope than to say "Theme parks aren't opening until the middle of 2021 when a vaccine is available to a reasonable number of people even though they're not really a source of covid spread but we don't care about that. Also we're following the science® ".

  7. It really is going to depend when you are going. . if you're in late Jan, then they probably are already ramping up for Mardi Gras (it ran for multiple Months last year), so that might draw in bigger crowds for the special food offerings/parades/shows, etc. keep in mind, in Jan, the waterpark section (Whitewater Bay) will *not* be open. Honestly, the best time to visit Fiesta is in the hot Texas summers, as the waterpark will drain a LOT of the crowd from everywhere else in the park until late afternoon - leaving really empty ride queues for most of the morning/early afternoon. Can't say how it's gonna be when you visit, tho I wouldn't pre-purchase. I'd wait until you see how the crowds are first. note: at the moment, Wonder Woman is NOT on the Flash Pass (it might be by the time you visit, but for now, it's not). so the real benefit you'd get would be for Joker (giant pendulum), Iron Rattler, Poltergeist (Flash Pass drops you directly in the station), and possibly Superman (if the park is packed). it's also good for cutting lines on Bugs Whitewater Rapids (flume) & Gully Washer (Rapids) - tho if it's cooler, which it will be in Jan, they might not be operating (or might have no lines regardless). and *maybe* they'll open the new ride in Jan. . it's ready to go, I could see them opening it for Mardi Gras Celebration. the Flash Pass office at Fiesta is to the Right of Boomerang - which you dead end into when you enter the park, and keep walking straight ahead.

  8. I still want to know why they didn't get more of the logs from Log Jammer when Kennywood closed that ride. Meanwhile Kennywood is auctioning them off on eBay.

  9. Yeah, Mystic Timbers is running just as good as the day it opened. Maybe he was referring to the Racer or the Beast? However, I don't consider either of those rides overly rough or unrideable. In fact, I'm pretty sure they have both had some re-tracking done in the past few years.

  10. Gold Striker would be a good candidate. It has a fun layout, but jackhammered when I rode it last summer.

  11. ^When I spoke to a Six Flags rep, they said they likely just need to update the dates, so you're probably right that they weren't thinking they'd still need it. I haven't been to any of the Texas parks before, so I'm very excited! I was originally going to do SFOT, but with the way pricing/dates were working out, it's only ~$75 more to do SFFT & SWSA instead for MLK Day weekend. Hoping that weekend won't be too busy, but would you recommend a Flash Pass?

  12. To be fair to Lance, he totally calls BS on the rumor in his post.

  13. I seriously don't care what they do as long as the ride works.

  14. ^Isn't it at least better than what people were worried about them taking out!? Wasn't a lot more rumored to leave like the sky ride, log flume, etc.?

  15. HORRIBLE decision, Cedar Fair needs to do it at King’s Island!!!! Instead they’re reopening a park that got a Free Spin instead of a Giga!

  16. CoasterNerd87, I updated your post with some more information. I don't understand this company and I never will but hey... whatever. Why would you do this at the last minute when you saw that you no longer had capacity restriction issues but not do it at Kings Island which was already open and didn't have them all summer? You wouldn't have to hire people, you wouldn't need to get rides that haven't moved in a year ready to run for like a month. If they had a pricing structure like Six Flags where they were trying to un-freeze memberships I would get it but they don't and I just don't understand anything they do. This is nice for people that live right near the park though. Oh, and the event only runs through the 27th and not the entire holiday week after that where everyone is off from school. Six Flags is running circles around Cedar Fair this year and I don't know how to feel about it. PS: This woman is every shareholder right now...

  18. It means that you can look forward to a fun-filled day riding Kumba, Montu, Cheetah Hunt and Sheikra and while you're in line for one of those you might be able to watch an Iron Gwazi POV on your phone.

  19. Or just tell them you aren't interest and don't want to talk. 90% of the time they shut up. Then again I usually end up in conversations about the group (generally girls) ahead/behind of us and how silly they are reacting. We both have a good laugh at their expense.

  20. Santa Clara County is still in the orange tier, which means only small parks can open with a 25%/500-person capacity, so this does not include CGA.
