SharkTums
Ok, so with Robb going away I called my parents and told them to come out and take care of me! Since I had to work during the week that didn't really pay but they did fly out for the weekend to hang with me! Saturday we did the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley and the Getty Center. Today we went to Universal Studios Hollywood for their first time since 1979! I'll spare you the TR's and move onto the pictures! They will probably span a few posts! I think this is where he is buried. Either that or a memorial! Here's me on the Phone with Robb! Here's the view from the back patio...I think that's like the valley or something! Coming into the front entrance to the library.
SharkTums
Ok, next up was the Getty Center. For those of you who don't know it's sort of an Art Museum place. Now I'm happy! Why? Cause we get to leave! My dad found a good book! (Maybe this could convince Robb to learn to read!) Wow, I'm glad those things have gotten bigger over the years! Here I am, still bored! Some of the nice architecture and gardens at the Getty. Maybe Robb likes art! They had a crapload of umbrellas for the taking! I guess it rains a lot in Art Museums! This one is for you Soren! Here I am bored already! Here we are on the tram on the way up, and there's the other tram coming back down! Did I mention that the Getty is up on a big hill? Uh Oh! No air gates to get on the tram, I totally could have died! Where are we again???
SharkTums
Universal Time! We had a great day here and did so much! Thanks to everyone who helped make this day as great as it was! My mommy rode the mummy! She had the best comment too. When comparing it to Florida's: "There was nothing to look at and it seemed very short". She may be GP, but she hit the nail on the head! This was one of the stunts...I stopped taking pictures after this cause this version was well, um, it was just okay...I'm really looking forward though into participating in the Florida one!!! (which has different stunts and a bigger theater!) This was my first time seeing the Fear Factor show...it was okay... We wanted to ride Jurassic Park, but fearing the 'summer splash' program, skipped it! Good ole Wisteria Lane...they added some new houses to it for this season and redid the cul-de-sac gardens...thrilling I know! Dude, there were two squirrels running around the Bates Motel, it was awesome! After actually seeing 'war of the worlds' no one seemed as interested in the set...grrr...I'm still mad that this movie wasn't good! SharkTums does not approve to being mean to Jaws! Are these dinos new? I didn't remember them! Here's Elissa, NOT AMUSED! Here's the Earthquake portion of the tour... LOL, it was so hard laughing at this and no one around me knew why! =( Time for the 'World Famous Tram Tour'! My mom was shocked by the 'all you can eat' pass! My parents first visit to USH in over 25 years!
SharkTums
Last up!! Totally Random Trip to the Fabric Store! Now this is looking like some strange fear factor stunt! I found some fabric that reminded me of Robb! My mom buys a cape! WOW!! Maybe this is why they sell candy! BTW, how much fabric do you think it takes to cover that!?!? When did fabric stores start selling candy??? My mom likes to sew and make things so we went to check out the 'west coast' fabrics!
Token Yankee Guy
Great Photos Elissa. You seemed very enthusiastic while at the Getty Center. Or whatever that place was you were very bored at.
robbalvey
Wow! Great TR. You're stuck in craptacular California and I'm in Hong Kong. Doesn't seem fair! --Robb "I come home tomorrow!!!" Alvey
Sir Clinksalot
Awesome pics Elissa. Glad you had a fun weekend with the parental units. The Summer Splash program certainly get's you more wet. Those Dino's on the tour are new. At least new since the last time we were there in June. At least they added something.

ebl
Funny...I've never been to the Getty Center, yet Diana has been there three or four times. I'll go sometime, maybe when it rains. Thank goodness they have umbrellas there! I almost went to Universal...heck, I'm off tomorrow; I still might. What kind of admission deals do they have going? Is buy-a-day-get-a-year still being offered? Looks like you had a nice time with your folks. I've been to the Reagan Library (heck, it's what 12 miles from here?), but I'm not going to go back till they open the Air Force One exhibit. And, yes, that's where Ronald Reagan is buried. flyby208
HI I am so glad that I am not the only one that doesnt like the earthquake thing at Universal. Having lived there for 10 years and going through a couple shakers they scared the hell out of me. Esp that whitter quake in 89 or 86 cant remember but didnt like it. Do miss crapifornia though
coasterdude5
Great TR! I know how boring art museums can be! They just keep going and going and going and going and going, well, you get the idea. And it seems everyone spends 15 minutes staring at each display! I wonder what summer splash meant? Hmm...
EpcotLova
You didnt like War of the Worlds? :o

CoasterFanatic
^ I was thinking the same thing, but then I remembered seeing Elissa's camera at Solace and it is very James Bond-ish. // hopes these poor souls never find TPR

SharkTums
Tiny camera, and I'm quite 'stealth-like'. It was amusing, especially with my mom yelling at me while I was doing it!
Hattuchili
Hey Elissa, nice photo TR. It looks like you had a good weekend with your parents. Whats up with the "bored pictures" at the museum? You don´t like art museums? However, thanks for that picture: Some German maps and books for me!? I think this will be a point to come to California, again! "All you can eat pass"? That sounds great! I want one! --Sören

BiCoastal Kid
The Getty Rules me. If I'm not mistaken, they still had the Rembrandt exhibit there, didn't they? Either way, that place doesn't even need art to be an attraction!
disneygurlz2s
The fabric store pictures cracked me up!!! What is your mother going to make with the blue fabric, anyway? Or, was she just compelled to wrap it around her for the hell of it? Shari
Thuur
Cool, TPR tripreports can be funny without Robb... Screw him! Just kidding, nice TR! Thanks. Nice to see some other TR then only, pure amusementparks.
