Shockwave
This really shocked me when I first saw it, but in fairness I'm not too surprised, all things considered! Since 1998, Tornado has apparently been doing it's best to kill of anyone brave/stupid enough to ride it. But now it looks like the Scots answer to Goudurix could be getting a little less rough. A friend of mine, Andy Marden, who has a site about Scotlands's three big parks took some photos of the ride, after its facelift. Link: www.scottishcoasters.co.uk Tornado Corkscrew. 1998-2006. Before... ...and after!
Divv3k
This looks like a good move, it really must have been the roughest corkscrew of all time. I doubt it will improve the ride much but I'm actually wanting to ride it again now - something I've not desired to do in ages! Any word on when it's reopening? steel
Ugh, that even looks hideous and rough.
nitral
I honestly hate corckscrews. Eventhough it's smooth, I don't like the feeling.
Gutterflower
all is not lost. you can still ride a pinfari corkscrew There is a clone of Tornado (although i guess not a clone now) called Hurricane at Center Norte in Argentina http://www.rcdb.com/ig1511.htm?picture=

apollo210
This ride will be the Darchin Fire of Scottland. It will be a matter of time before this ride will be scraped! I love Corkscrews. Infact, the smoothest part of the "Real part" of Canobie Corkscrew is the Corkscrews! Maybe I'll ride Canobie Corkscrew this month after all. SharkTums
None of you have asked yourselves the most important question!!! For those of you who have ridden it before, and now after...is it a new credit??? (For Jeff Johnson it would be 5 new credits!)
Corkscrewed
so what this looks like is they took the corkscrew out so that they can put in an S-turn that will slam you from side to side, thereby injuring your body instead of your head...

haux
Are you sure? The photo is a bit deceptive. The first photo clearly shows a loop or two right in front of or next to the corkscrew. The second photo doesn't show any loops. RCDB says it's been removed, but I'd like to see better evidence.

For those of you who have ridden it before, and now after...is it a new credit??? (For Jeff Johnson it would be 5 new credits!) Now all of the old Drachen Fire (BGE) fans are going to be in an uproar after it had its surgery done. If that is the case, people will claim 2 seperate credits on DF now. 1-credit (with 6 inversions) and 1-credit (with 5 inversions). -perhaps those that survived either ride should be given 2 coaster credits for just being here today and talk about it. Divv3k
I stopped by the park on Saturday and it was the busiest I had ever seen it. I was planning on taking a quick ride on Tornado to see how it rode but having only 15 minutes to spare in the park the queues didn’t allow me to ride anything in that short a time. Suffice to say people still looked to be in the usual substantial pain by the end of the ride. I also noticed that “Express” the Pinfari PC40 is back at the park which is good for me as I don’t have that credit yet. Hopefully I should have time to get back within the next week so I can pick up the Express credit and brave out Tornado – Redux.
