What type of cameras do you like better film or digital? In addition, how much longer do you think film will be around?

I bought my first digital camera last fall but I still use my film SLR sometimes. I like digital cameras because you can take many photos without changing rolls of film and you do not have to develop film. However, I still take my SLR camera on trips with me because IMO digital cameras don't have the quality of film cameras yet. I think film will always be around but it will become scarce as time goes on.

I have both, film and digital. However I like much more my digital camera, because you can see what pictures you have made and delete the bad ones. I use the film camera only, if the digital camera is not ok, or I have forgotten to charge it.

I voted for Film. And the only reason why is because the part of photography that i like is getting involved in a dark room. Yeah, i will admit that digital is far easier and a lot more useful for the casual photographer, but you also need a superb printer to make it worth while. I just like playing with film. Im also a projectionist, so Im a little film biased. Even though i deal with movie film rather than photo film....

I work in a Camera shop, and yes I prefer digital, but the quality of film is still the best at the moment, a good quality film has the ability to produce prints of up to sixty megapixels. (Not that megapixels is a quality measure of course)

I have two digital cameras, a Fuji S5000 for my motorsport shots (high zoom, 10x optical) and an Olympus C60 for park shots, that takes a rechargable lithium battery, like^ said, that's very handy for compactness.

I'm not so keen on those Canon A series cameras because they take four AA batteries, whereas most equivilents only take two. Although the new Canon As are now only taking two.

I go with digital only because it's cheaper in the long run. The camera and memory card costs make up the countless costs of film and developing film. Also, I can go back and delete pictures if I don't like them.

I would have to say film. I can take the same picture with the digital and the film and the film always comes out better! But then the arguement can be based on the quality of the film vs the quality of the digital cam you have.....

I love my digital camera! Canon S50. Had it for about a year now and absolutely love it. Takes amazing pictures, and descent videos.
