Coasterkid20
I'm currently planning a legnthy trip this summer, exploring a good deal of the north east. This website always has the best input so I decided to ask which seats are the best on many of the coasters I will be riding. Just for your information I am looking at which seat has the best airtime and other various forces. Silver Comet, Martin's Fantasy Island Superman: ROS, SFDL Predator, SFDL Comet, Great Escape Boulder Dash, LC Superman: ROS, SFNE Cyclone, SFNE Batman dark knight, SFNE Superman: ROS, SFA Wild One, SFA Roar, SFA Hydra, Steel force, Talon, Thunderhawk (Dorney) Wildcat, Lightning Racer, Storm Runner, Great Bear and Comet (Hershey) and last but not least: The Knoebels' Woodies! I can take a very eductated guess at which seats will probably be the best on most of them, but I thought it would be fun to see what other people actually think! pkdcoaster
I will answer the ones I have been on and this is my opinion Silver Comet-Front Superman: ROS, SFDL-Front Predator, SFDL-Front Superman: ROS, SFA-front Wild One, SFA-Front Roar, SFA-Equal Steel force-Back Talon-Front Thunderhawk-Front Wildcat-Front Lightning Racer-Equal Great Bear-Front Comet-Equal Twister-Front Phoenix-Front This is judged based on airtime and forces and view (inverts) JEFF
Carnage
Some of these just come down to personaly preferance. I personally find the Intamin megacoasters like S:ROS.MF,etc to be back seat rides. As far back as possible. In fact I tend to prefer the back of the train on nearly every coaster, with the exception of inverted coasters.
ParkTrips
Silver Comet, Martin's Fantasy Island -- back, I didn't get much air in the front and the back was pretty damn good. For an idea, I rode 26 times and 22 were in the back car. Superman: ROS, SFDL - back for the best airtime (that is what these coasters are about, no?) Predator, SFDL - on the bench watching the ride. It sucks that much IMO Comet, Great Escape - N/C Boulder Dash, LC - Front has awesome visuals, rides range drastically across the board Superman: ROS, SFNE -ditto DL comments Cyclone, SFNE - N/C Batman dark knight, SFNE - I don't really care on loopers, front I guess Superman: ROS, SFA - N/C Wild One, SFA - N/C Roar, SFA - N/C Hydra, Steel force, Talon, Thunderhawk (Dorney) - back so you can get some decent air on the drop I guess (the ride still stinks IMO), anywhere (pretty equal ride in various seats, at least to me), front or back (typical Invert), don't remember Wildcat, Lightning Racer, Storm Runner, Great Bear and Comet (Hershey) - back, front, front, ditto Talon comment , anywhere (it's all ok) and last but not least: The Knoebels' Woodies! - anywhere on either N/C = no comment, I haven't ridden - Joe

coasterfreak101
I will also answer with what I have done: SROS @ SFA: Front is a great view, Back is amazing airtime! Wild One @ SFA: Back is great airtime! ROAR @ SFA: Front is great airtime, back is AMAZING airtime! Both rock! Wildcat @ Hershey: Front isn't as bumpy, Back gives better airtime! Lightning Racers @ Hershey: Everywhere ROCKS! Try front and back! Storm Runner #@ Hershey: Front provides for one heck of a view over the hill, Back gives TRULY SUPERB airtime over the hill! Great Bear @ Hershey: Front for a view, Back to get more whipped around the course! Comet: Back gives some amazing "OMFG" airtime! So really, I guess in some cases it's what you like better, so I tried to include a front and back for each one. If I had to pick a single seat for each, I would pick: SROS - Back Wild One - Back ROAR - Back Wildcat - Back Lightning Racers - ANYWHERE! Storm Runner - Front Great Bear - Front Comet - Back Hope some of that all helps!!!
CoasterCrazy
These are the ones from your list that I have been on! Superman: ROS SFA - Backseat Wild One SFA - Front seat Roar SFA - Backseat Hydra - Front seat Steel force - Backseat Talon - Front seat Thunderhawk - Middle Wildcat - Front seat Lightning Racer - Front seat Storm Runner - Front seat Great Bear - Front seat Comet - Backseat Phoenix - Backseat Twister - Front seat
pkdcoaster
They both are good but I love the sustained airtime on the 3rd hill in the front all the way over the top and the last 3 bunny hops are better in the front to me.....but the back is good too. TheGreatOne
Both Thunderhawk and Phoenix are outstanding on the "Schmeck Seat", which is front car, third row. If it rains when you go to Knoebel's, make sure t ride Twister right afterwards. I've had some of my best roller coaster rides ever on Twister right after afternoon showers. As for Storm Runner, make sure to ride both front and back...the airtime will vary between the two and form an opinion for yourself. Both are pretty sweet. I prefer the front because of the wicked air going into the Zero-G Roll.
Coasterkid20
Thanks for the suggestions! I already figured that a lot of the coasters would be great in both front in back, such as storm runner. I just figured the top hat would be pretty much the same thing as Xcelerator, both the front and back giving different types of airtime, but both completely awesome! YoshiFan
Hydra - Front Talon - Front or Back Thunderhawk - Front, you can get a ton of air time and a great view Lightning Racer - middle or back, I found in the front the first drop wasn't as great and you can't get as good of a view of the racing/dueling in the front. Great Bear - Front Comet - Front

music11
If you want to ride S:ROS at SFNE you should get the middle it has great views and airtime plus you can get a seat quicker instead of waiting for the back and front for a long time. The Cheat
To me it really all depends on what your riding. And I dont feel like listing all my favorites so Ill just do a few. Silver Bullet: Front Seat outside right seat. Space Mountain: Front BTMRR: Back Screamin: Front Hades: Back Cyclops: Back Ninja (Sfstl): Front Boomerang: Car 4 (the real vekoma seat on boomerangs) X: Car 4, Car 7, or Car 1 (all stair side) Thats just a few, but to me it really all depends on the coaster. Darien Laker
S:ROS (SFA/SFDL)-Ride in the front or back. Definitely worth the wait. The feeling of flying over the lift hill in the back is crazy, and the front seat has awesome views, of course. I rode in the middle of both Roar and Wild One, and had a great ride both coasters. I couldn't really say if other seats would be better or not. Predator just sucks. It's the worst coaster i've ever been on. Seriously, I wouldn't even bother riding it. If you must, try the front. You're in for an extremely long wait due to the amazing four minute dispatch intervals, but it's the only semi-tolerable seat. You won't want to re-ride. edboxer
Just my opinion: Silver Comet, Martin's Fantasy Island - first car. Superman: ROS, SFDL - first car, second row (and there is never a line for it). Boulder Dash, LC - front row for floating, back row for slamming Superman: ROS, SFNE - first car, second row (and there is never a line for it). Superman: ROS, SFA - first car, second row (and there is never a line for it). Roar, SFA - back car has slamming air Hydra - back has nice flotaing down the hills and through the inversions Steel force - first car second row Talon - incredible air in the back row Thunderhawk - very little air, and a nasty final brake. Storm Runner - front row - only the front does it feel like your face is about to get blow off. Great Bear - air, too slow for air. Comet (Hershey) - forget the comet - go on on Lightening racers - nice air in the front and last but not least: The Knoebels' Woodies! Twister - not a lot of air in the front - some slamming air in the back. Phoenix - front car - just try to keep your butt in the seat!
