USRoadTripper
Darien Lake needs another good ride! Lets hope that this actually gets installed there and is not just "stored." Â -Julie
coasterdude5
I knew this ride wasn't getting the axe. It's to unique, it'll fit in well at DL.
lapseofreason
Nooo! DL is WAAAY too far away! I mean, SFMM already had it, but... arrgh. Â -Amanda 'Darn it, I wanted to ride that!" V.
ECZenith
Sweet, I make it up there every other year or so. Finally something else worth the time.
ebl
Funny, I could have seen it going to Elitch Gardens or one of the smaller parks. But whatever. Â It is funny that its twin is not far away at La Ronde. Â Eric
trustkill22
Killer, i've been hoping for something new at the lake since Superman. I don't care if people say its good or not im excited. YES!
bdstrom
Finally something new after years of poor management and lack of rides. I rode it at SFAW in 1992 and I remember it as extreme headbanger but I don't care since it is something NEW for SFDL! *clapping* Â Now the biggest question remains... will it open this summer?
trustkill22
I heard its a headbanger but still something new. This is great. I'm still gonna have to go on it but when it goes up its going to be awkward seeing something new there in a long time but at least it may take some long wait times from Superman but still im speechless. restoca
Good! Another one saved. (If a cat has nine lives, how many does a coaster have? This'll be the fourth park for this one...) Â I passed SFAW yesterday. The Cyclone looks so lonely! The only sign of another coaster was some of the Batman supports still standing. All others have been dismantled. Â If the Astroneedle and Astrowheel were still present it would look like the park did when the Cyclone opened in 1976 (sans Dexter Freebish...). Â Back to Batman: I wish they'd cough up the $ for new B&M floorless trains for this great layout and give the stand-up torture trains a proper burial. Same sentiment for the SFMM Flashback trains! trustkill22
Ya but I really can't see the B&M train conversion happening but hey you never know. People thought that this was a pit stop for the coasters long journey up north.
bdstrom
Yeah, I agree. They should get a B&M. After years of no upgrades and tons of visitors... they should have plenty of money for a shiny new B&M or Intamin. But this Batman coaster is better than nothing and I am still excitied! mightypotato
Finally, a reason to go to Darien Lake. I've been waiting for a new ride there since Superman was installed oh so many years ago. In fact, I don't think I've been back to Darien Lake since then...either that or the year after Superman was put in. Regardless, its been a while. I'm hoping this will be put in soon and will be operating for the 2006 season.
niiicolaaah
Darien lake sucks. It needs something... ANYTHING. Â if they really put batman in, i will visit. my friends will all be like "yay! a new coaster!" they won't know it's eleven billion years old. lol. Shockwave
Is the ride gonna be opened next year then? Seems that all the Astroworld rides are taking a year out before they get rebuilt.
coaster1
Wouldn't count on it and with the new management, it'll be a wonder if it does get re-built since it's not a family attraction and quite painful. Â After seeing how some rides were removed, it may require alot of maintenance to get it back in working order.
Shockwave
Yeah, whichever is cheaper I guess. Â Six Flags may have to make use of the rides they've got seeing as they won't be getting many more big new ones in the near future.
peteb
You think they would be a little more careful the way they just pile up all the old track and supports; what a contrast compared to new construction. What's a little bump in the track here or there.

If they were just going to scrap it, they wouldn't have taken it apart so carefully.
coaster1
Most of them weren't removed carefully. Serial Thriller sustained some damage upon removal because the company is rushed to get the site cleared. The ones that were dismantled ok, we the pieces up for auction, except Serpent which was cut into piece due to the track being welded together originally. Â Even the HUSS Troika removed was damaged during delivery to SFOT and we had to scrap that one and get a replacement one from La Ronde.
niiicolaaah
yeah. but i mean, look at the track pieces. they were definitely taken apart deliberately, not just bulldozed over.
TheStig
Alright Im glad to see DL getting a coaster, even if it is ancient. And I think that at the moment B&M trains COULD work on this ride, but this is an Intamin/Giovanola coaster. It was pretty much a pre-Iron Wolf as B&M worked on this in one way or another, which also explains the Intamin trains on IW and the Giovanola supports. But hey, I'm glad that this is getting a 4th life as it's a pretty cool looking coaster, like the early B&M standups. Â Colin C
