As much as I want it to be, I just don't see it happening (at least not in the U.S. I would love if some small park picked it up, but other than that, I can't imagine it actually getting saved. Its just too old of a ride with not a great deal of appeal compared to today's modern monsters.

Unless it costs more to fix it up to OHSA standards, duh, it will be bought by somebody. This is the carny industry we're talking about.

When a new state of the art coaster costs $21 million dollars, of course someone will buy a looper for half a million.

I think it will be saved later on. I don't think they will be able to auction off any of the coasters. I think they will sale it thourgh a used ride company, and it will be bought.

XLR-8 went for $7,000

The Serpent kiddie coaster went for $5,000.

No details yet what happened with Greezed Lightnin' and Viper. Word has it that nothing at the auction went for over $8,000.

It wasn't sold cause the reserve price wasn't met. The high bidder had a chance to pay the reserve and get the ride, which didn't happen.

Therefore, most will be heading to a scrap heap unless they decide to salvage the ride and use it for parts since all the other parks in the chain have already turned down those. It could still be bought as well for the price that was set as the reserved, but if you won, the ride has to be off property by 2/15 (Feb. 15th).
