DegoRed Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Introducing...... The new 2005 Christmas K'nex Coaster Construction on the track layout is progressing rapidly, so keep checking my site for more updates. http://www.freewebs.com/knex-kreations/ As of 12/14: The entire upper section of the tree has track placed, including, a bridge straightaway from the tv turnaround, a full 360 degree turn, an s turn, an upper pass through the tree, a 90 degree turn, and a diving turn into the tree. Construction should be conitinuing today 12/15 so check for an update soon.
Nrthwnd Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 OMG! That's so cool! And yeah, don't include the "not Everest" part in the actual logo. We know what it's not, heh heh. Excellent choice of Nameing. Perfect for the ocassion coming up in the Kingdom of Animal. (Actually as a sudden edit - maybe you should add instead of the red eyes for Yeti, in the original logo - you string 'a string of tiny red christmas lights' across it diagonally? Just a humble suggestion, lol.)
RctInfinity Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 It goes THROUGH the Christmas tree?!?! ..LOL
DegoRed Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Hey everyone, the ride is finished and up and running. From the last update I added a few more turns, the finale of the ride includes a diving turn into a loop and up into the brakes. I'm really happy how it turned out. Check out and let me know what you all think I'm gonna try and get a video put together by Christmas for everyone to see so look out for that. Until then, check out the pics of my finished model...Expedition Evergreen http://www.freewebs.com/knex-kreations
Erik Johnson Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Wow, that is quite cool. How long did it take to put it all together?
waterviper Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Wow that totally reminds me of Matterhorn at Disneyland!!! Well except for the loop of course!! Fantastic job here. Cant wait to see the video of this awesome creation of yours!!!
Reon Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 One problem: I cant get to the site. Whenever I go to it, theres just a message that says Please visit our sponsors below. (Opens new window) . Theres no clickables, and even if I wait a little, it doesnt change...Cant you host the images somewhere else?
socalMAN123 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 That looks awesome! I have the same question as Erik, how long did it take you to build it? ---Brent 8)
PhishyBrewer Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Very Cool! When will a new POV video be ready for download?
DegoRed Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Let's see I started building it last tuesday, finished on saturday night at 2 in the morning, I must have spent a total of at least 10-15 hours through the course of that week. The video will be available soon, I'm really gonna try to have it done on thursday, though I might be going to DLR that day, no POV though, just off ride As far as site issues go, I just checked it it's up and running, because it's freewebs they make you wait 10 seconds on an ad before you go to the site, so when you click the link just wait a few seconds and it will transfer you over to my site Thanks for the compliments so far
pagemaster_b Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Great Job! Looking forward to your video. I showed this site to my parents, and they said you were crazy. When I said I wanted to do the same to their tree, they said I was crazy. Sigh. Some people just don't understand us coaster fanatics.
TwistedTrack Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 "New with laser effects, animitronics and pyrotechnics" thats pretty nifty!
Gnome Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 You have a very good logo, its very innovative with the tree and the v in evergreen, really sweet.
DegoRed Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 That's actually Expedition Everest's logo, but photoshopped
Reon Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 10 seconds? Ive waited 10 minutes and nothing happens....
coasterdude5 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Wow, awesome job!! I can't wait to see the video. (I guess it won't be a POV unless you have a really small camera).
Gnome Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 how's the video coming along? Also, do you by any chance have one of those tiny as hell digital cameras that you could possibly tape onto the front of the train?
RctInfinity Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 That looks awesome! I have the same question as Erik, how long did it take you to build it?---Brent 8) Not to be off topic but where did you get that avatar I LOVE Virtual Magic Kingdom!
coaster_type_of_person Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Yes this coaster is amazing! I cant wait for the video! Mabey you could do one of those cheezy movies where they take a picture move something take another picture(like the commercials with the lego people), so we could have a pov! jk
