She did ride that "spoiled ditz who carries a Chihuahua" gimmick for quite a while. I made the mistake of renting House of Wax a few weeks ago. None of the cast covered themselves with glory, but they were all Laurence Oliviers and Vivian Leighs next to Paris Hilton. She had neither talent nor presence, and she wasn't even sexy--just seemed sort of bored.

 

Never watched Simple Life, and I wish I'd given Wax a miss.

^ The Simple Life is entertaining just for the fact that these girls have no idea how to do ANYTHING. I'm not saying this is their fault, but jeez, the most basic tasks that most of us learn to do from a young age are impossible to them. The difference between Paris and Nicole Richie is that Nicole throws herself into it and will try anything, whereas Paris just pulls a face and spends the whole time messing around, ignoring orders, and calling home. THAT annoys me, why the hell do the show?! I've only seen the first series so far, wonder if she's the same in the others.

FYI- The show is pretty fake. All the scenarios are staged, even down to reactions and such. They don't have a script, but they have an outline on how the scenes are going to play out.
