Reon Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Ive yet to ride a GIB, so my vote goes to Invertigos...Then again, Im baseing this off just riding Sidewinder (HP) and Face//Off (PKI) so take this as you will...
TheStig Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Im a Giant Inverted Boomerang guy myself. I rode Face Off at PKI over the summer and it really sucked! I mean, vicious head banging in the loop and the second spike! I didn’t even know that it was possible! As for GIB, I’ve been on DJV at SFOG and SFGAm and I must say SFGAm can unload, load, and dispatch a train in no more than 2 minutes and they did that the whole week I was there! They have an amazing crew at SFGAm. Also, the OTSR's really do NOTHING except give you something to bash your head into, it’s the orange seatbelt that does all the work! However, at SFOG I had a bad DJV experience. First off, it took maybe 10 minutes to load and dispatch us. We completed the circuit, only once we got back to the first tower, we did not easily go back into the station. Instead we sat there for an hour (The catch car caught in a different spot it was supposed to). So they ended up releasing the train and the boomerang breaks slowed us down and we got back into the station. Now, as soon as we got into the station they tried to release out OTSR's and nothing happened. So for another hour we all sat there and we couldn’t get out! And all we got for it was an exit pass and a soft drink...oh boy... Colin C
DerekRx Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I'd vote for none of the above, but if by some weird circumstance I was stranded at an amusement park that only had these three coasters to ride and I was forced to ride one.....I'd ride each of them for the credit, then probably try to find a way out of the park and go to the nearest bar or Carrabbas. However if it was too far to walk and I wanted to pass the time, I'd probably reride the Invertigo. At least those are smooth, have fairly quick loading, and I can look at other people while on the ride. Oh yeah, best of all....no throat bar!
SonOfBeastSucks Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I have ridden at least one example of all three and my vote goes for Invertigo.
Meteornotes Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Invertigo. Boomerangs are the suck. And I've only made it on one GIB, the one at SFGAm, though I have seen all three Deja Vu's not working when I've visited parks! Honestly, I didn't find DV to be all that amazing over the other boomerang experiences, it was just way taller... dt
calcajun Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I absolutely avoid Boomerangs. Once in a while at work if a situation should warrant, I will jump on boomerang with a guest. The guests are surprised and happy for the riding partner but I leave nauseated and with headache. I like invertigos. The thing with those, as with boomers, is going through the elements one right after the other without a little break leaves me slightly dizzy and queasy at the end. Giant Inverted Boomerang For whatever reason, these scare the hell outta me and I love them for that. Rode Magic mountains and over Georgia’s and both seem to feel the same. I tend to show up at them just as they are coming up or back up so at most have only waited a few trains to ride. I will however pass them up when the wait is longer than 30 minutes which is most of the time. Since no other rides scare me and I need to choose one, I will say GIB's F Ing rock!
Scaparri Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Easily the Giant Inverted Boomerang. The speed and especially the vertical towers do it for me. Also, because I'm not used the crossover, I always get a bit disoriented when the train hits the cobra roll.
coasterguy618 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I've never been on a Giant Inverted Boomerang or an Invertigo so I just picked a regular Boomerang.
