Don't worry, we would email you if there was any problem. We won't just disqualify you!

Dear TPTB@TPR -

Is it possible this year to include a reference of some kind in the write-up for each video that credits the song that's being utilized? I don't know about everyone else, but I've seen plenty of videos around these parts where I've been incessantly humming the music for days afterwards, with no clue the title or artist (that infernal "Best Friend" song in the Orlando video springs immediately to mind - that was the most brilliant usage of bubblegum music I've heard in a while).

What'cha think?

If you're using Pinnacle studio, just save it at DVD quality, it'll be fine. That way it plays in just about everything except quicktime, it's a 100-200MB file, and still retains great quality.

This may be an MPEG-2 file. You can export your video to avi on Pinnacle Studio. Just click on the AVI button and set it to the default settings. That works for me every time.

Hey, so I finally got around to cutting my files and such. Do you have any recommendations for a cheap but effective way of shipping my DVD submission? As in suggestions for what kind of container to put it in and what type of mail packaging. Obviously, I'd prefer a simple but cheap method.

I think TPM sends out their DVD's with "media mail," but I've never actually done this myself, so any guidance would be cool. If I can just go to the post office and get all the right types of envelopes (I'm thinking the manilla types with bubble wrap inside), then I guess that's cool, but if there's stuff I have to go out and buy or whatever, I'd like to know.

Yeah, generally that's the best way to do it, but my post was in response to someone saying that they had errors when they saved it as an AVI and I was suggesting a solution.

That's not exactly what I had in mind, but thanks anyway.

What exactly did you have in mind? You asked for a song list and we linked you to the song list.

We cannot list the songs on the DVD due to copyright reasons. There are certain limitations for what we do and how we use music, and in order to fall under either the "fair use" or "documentary" requirements, we cannot list the music titles and artists on the actual DVD itself.

I was only referring to the songs that were used in the contest entries. What you're saying in reference to copyright reasonings, however, makes perfect sense (my copyright knowledge is both limited and outdated - I only had to play that game once for a student film, and I failed miserably trying).

On our contest entry (which is totally gonna be in the mail tomorrow), we actually did put a title with the musical credit. Should we remove that before submission?

I hope I didn't come across as being a schmo, there. It certainly wasn't my intention.

EDIT - I went back and looked at my original post, and I wasn't clear that I was referring to the contest entries only. Maybe referencing that Toybox song screwed up the question I was actually asking. So yeah, that's totally a my bad.

^ Yup it came in!

^^ Don't worry about removing it, personally I don't think it's THAT big of a deal, since it's a contest which is not for profit, but for future reference it's good info to know!

I'm going to be sending out an email very soon to all the entries we did get. Thibault, I'm pretty damn sure I got yours. Which one was yours again? (since I'm not at home looking at the spreadsheet)

hi everyone. this is my very first post as a member at themeparkreview.com. i'm glad to have joined, and will also be sending my entries to the contest on wednesday or thursday. just wanted to warn the judges that it may take a week or so until they arrive in cali, since they're coming from hamburg. hope you enjoy!

^ That's fine! We've got a lot to go through and we expect that we'll probably still get entries over the next week. As long as they are in the mail by Friday, you're good to go.

Welcome to the boards, BTW!

Hey I'm gonna try to get it in the mail today. But I was wondering if you would be able to use the video on a mini DV tape. It had my sister try to import the video on Adobe Premire and it didn't work. So I just thought I would ask.

As the deadline approaches, I have two questions...

1.) When will be the winners announced?

2.) Will there be Honorable Mentions this year?
