larrygator
I guess we will know if this is for real quickly since ground breaking is supposed to occur tomorrow http://www.croatiaweek.com/construction-starts-on-first-croatian-theme-park/ Construction Starts on First Croatian Theme Park Construction on the Croatian version of Italy’s Gardaland theme park in the northern Dalmatian town of Biograd na Moru will start on Wednesday. The ‘Croatian Gardaland’, which will be the first theme park built-in Croatia, has been designed by Italian Amusement Design specialists Bausaa, who have worked on the design of theme parks in Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Investors are hoping that the park will attract more than 200,000 visitors a year when it opens by 1 May 2017 at the latest. The theme park will operate in a similar fashion to Gardaland and have 25 attractions such as roller coasters, carousels, water rides, lakes, and a stage for artistic performances. The park will have three sections – a children’s section, a family section and a section for teenagers with adrenalin rides – and also an electronic games and simulators hall. There will also be a range of firework spectacles. There will also be restaurants and cafes at the park. Zagreb firm Tehnika will carry out the construction. “It will be the first theme park in Croatia based on Gardaland in Italy, and the famous theme park in Florida, Orlando,” Franjo Koletić, director of Mirnovec pirotehnike who are beind the project confirmed, adding that the park could be ready by Easter next year and by 1 May at the latest. Nrthwnd
If the photo of the city is true, this will be an amazingly scenic location for the park! Best Wishes to them and their plans.

ytterbiumanalyst
This is great news! Croatia, and especially the Dalmatian coast, is one of those up and coming vacation spots. Its popularity has been growing in recent years, since it offers a lot of the same things Italy does at far less cost. You don't get the Italian culture, but you do get Roman antiquities and a beautiful coastline. The number of attractions in this area has grown enough that a theme park could really do well with tourists.
Nrthwnd
It's interesting, that with the Dark Ride and Bumper Cars artwork, they also showed the interiors of the attractions, down in the left corner. Cool.
blk_mamba
This looks pretty cool; i find it odd they are adding two water rides and no roller coaster.
Gutterflower
This looks pretty cool; i find it odd they are adding two water rides and no roller coaster. A better version of the plans shows a wild mouse on the left side so they are getting at least one coaster.
RyanTPM
Looks better than i thought it would from that concept art, good that they've managed to add a coaster and what looks like a large flume too, possibly a short water coaster.

Any idea?
Rill'o'beily
It's either a used coaster from (maybe, hopefully) intamin or a coaster from some real back alley coaster company. Or worse; a combination of the two. Anyway the typhoon is looking great and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this. EDIT: Found this on the website: It better be early simplified concept art a la park maps. If not...
Gutterflower
I've just been told its probably an Intamin splash boat ride similar to the one at Gardaland just with one drop. The boat is under a tarp on the left. The looping coaster is expected to be a Schwarzkopf Silver Arrow. Specifically Loudoun Castles long SBNO Twist and Shout
Gutterflower
The Schwarzkopf Silver Arrow previously at Loudoun Castle as Twist And Shout has shown up on site with a shiny new colour scheme. Interestingly its almost identical to the colour scheme it had when it started its life at Ocean Beach Park over 30 years ago. The new "place to be" in the area is Montenegro, just south of Croatia. Beautiful country and beaches, plus still rather cheap.
UnkropCro
I have family in Croatia and I'm happy my cousins will get to enjoy this luxury. Looks like it'll need a lot of work to be safe though.
