Ride Entertainment's New Turning Zipline

Ride Entertainment Group posted a video of their turning zip lines using their new technologies, what do you think about it? Would you like to see it getting installed somewhere?

Looks interesting... But to be honest Ziplines never really interest me, nor does this appeal to me. With that being said, yes there is a market for this, and there are people who will eat this up! I am just not personally one of them.

I could see San Diego gobbling this up, just like water jetpacks and the WaveHouse. This would fit perfectly at SeaWorld, Belmont, or even Aquatica. Zipline surfing? YES please!

I view it as a gimmick to add to the zipline world. But if used properly with themeing, flybys, or even fly above some water, the GP would eat it up.

Interesting concept. In my view, a zip line's appeal isn't what the line itself does, but the location.

Absolutely agree! Except for the whole standing/surfboard thing (weird...seems to overcomplicate the ride system), it is really similar - if not darn close to the same thing - as the Zipcoaster that's been open for awhile down in Kissimmee just outside of Orlando at the Forever Florida Zipline Adventure Park.

Agree. This looks like it could increase the potential of these rides.

They announced something new. Wonder how the restraints work and how they keep the wheel chair on place.

We'll go check it out at IAAPA, but honestly, I'm just not a huge fan of simulator type rides. Maybe this has other applications as well?

^ That's why I adapted these seats into a stand-up coaster.

 

But the E-Motionboard isn't really new, I mean, they'd already unveil it about almost a year ago, see this video from december 2013:

I could see how this would work for a skiing simulator, but I'm not a huge fan of simulator rides, either. Still, this might be a good, cost-effective way for a park to update their old simulator rides (or for a small park to add a "big" attraction).

 

I'm curious to see how it will go over.
