805Andrew Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Manhattan Express. I genuinely believe that if it ran with only lap bars, it'd be a decent ride. I know that the Premier Spaghetti Bowls were hated until the OTSRs were removed and replaced with lap bars only. I feel the same would happen with Manhattan Express as when I rode it, the main problem were those HORRIBLE restraints that were placed right against your neck, causing neckbanging. Other than that, it seemed like had a decent layout that I'd enjoy if it didn't hurt so much. Totally agree with this
mightypotato Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Hades 360 could be awesome, were it actually properly maintained. The layout is great, the inversion is fun and all that, but it's killed by how rough of a ride it is.
palmerleeberry Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Take all Arrow steel-looping coasters, remove the head-banging horse collars, and put in the over-the-shoulder restraints that are used in rides such as Hersheypark's Sidewinder and Carowinds Carolina Cobra and you'll see and feel how much better those Arrow steel-looping coasters will become. "I wish they'll change these restraints; I'm getting killed out there!"
rcjp Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Thunderhawk at Dorney. Re-track it, remove the trims and let it fly... too bad this won't ever happen because even with the trims they can't maintain the ride so I highly doubt they could maintain it properly if it required even more work than it already does. This ride has great airtime in the front car but right now it's too painful to enjoy. I agree. While I didn't find it painful it certainly wasn't smooth and having had the chance to try trim off/trim on on the same that, boy did that make a difference.
StuckInSD Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Scream! sits on a parking lot... which is the one major thing holding this otherwise pretty good (nothing great, mind you) coaster. If they seriously just painted over the parking spaces with some sort of abstract design, that would make Scream! infinitely better. Give it some proper maintenance and a fresh coat of paint, and it could really be a stand-out ride in Magic Mountain's lineup.

The only thing Manhattan Express does is ensure we won't over populate in the near future as long as it's still giving rides.

Now if it got something like the Medusa to Bizarro treatment SFGAdv did a few years back... I don't know what it was but I just enjoyed the Bizarro version a lot more. My first thought in reading this thread's title was Revolution. It's just that I didn't think the coaster was that bad, just the restraints...
GwaziBSRider1 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Definitely Revolution. I love the look and the design, but those restraints and the excessive trims. I didn't think anything could have a stronger trim than Goliath and Titan!
yay101 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Come on, Ghost Rider, be the person you once were 15 years ago...before I was alive! I would say a ride that has hope is Hoosier Hurricane. It is such a rough, uncomfortable ride and if was retracked, it would be so much better.
