What Now Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 My Math Class was cut short because of the smoke. Of corse my house is closer to Chatsworth then Pierce is, so it is even smokier and ashier over here. What Fun!

Since my classroom is on the ground floor and the main entrance to the building is right near the entrance to my classroom it's REALLY bad. I'm hoping I get permission to end class early tonight.
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 It is burning in Las Virgenes and Calabasas, mandatory evacuations are in effect for the Las Virgenes area and precautionary ones for Calabasas. There are ALOT of houses in danger right now and once it gets dark the helicopters and planes won't be able to fly. The freeways are all still open for the time being, but I expect them to close the Northbound side soon. Kristi "hopes Gregg gets to end class early too!" C.

Outside you can barely see anything and then inside the smoke is just hanging and you can see it. We are hoping to not have to be here all day, it is going to be really bad. The roads around us are closed, Kanan just closed again and Las Virgenes is closed also. There is still a chance of it hopping the freeway, however we are being optimistic. No, the fire is not near our house thankfully, but it is near both of our jobs. The smoke is getting thick again and when you look outside it is just brown haze all over. Very unhealthy. ebl Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I should post some pictures that my wife took from her West Hills office (same company Gregg works for). That fire was awfully close. In fact, LAFD was using the parking lot as a staging area for helicopters and other firefighting equipment. Eric
