ArundelHigh Coasters Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Sorry if this on the wrong forum, but I was kind of unsure on where to put this, and I felt this would be the best place. Anyways, I got my braces off 2 weeks ago, and I got these invisalign like clear retainers. I'm going to SFA today, and I was wondering, is it safe to wear a clear retainer on roller coasters? Would they fall out? Edited May 31, 2013 by ArundelHigh Coasters
Voxelmatic Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 There isn't an issue with that as far as I know. You'll be fine.
ernierocker Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Seriously though, just don't swallow the retainer and you will be fine.
Dinnwitted Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Seriously though, just don't swallow the retainer and you will be fine. Or lose it on the first drop, as one of my friends did.
thrillseeker4552 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I have a retainer as well and it's not a problem. I still take it off for rides like top spins or flying coasters, but most rides are just fine.
scooterdoug Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Since retainers are made to fit on teeth with pressure, I doubt they'll go anywhere...even if you open your mouth to scream on that first drop.
eddytheviper Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Haha great question, I wondered this when I first got mine but didn't want to ask around so good on you for asking. Â Anyway, you'll have no problems, they won't just click out and fly away so don't worry about it. Enjoy
SharkTums Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Seriously though, just don't swallow the retainer and you will be fine. Or lose it on the first drop, as one of my friends did. Â How the hell did your friend lose a retainer out of their mouth on a ride!?!?
GayCoasterGuy Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Just be careful around those magnetic launches, and mag brakes. (kidding )
Milo1188 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 If your retainer comes out for any reason besides you physically taking it out of your mouth, you should consider going to a new orthodontist.
ArundelHigh Coasters Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Lol, my retainer was fine yesterday. It was pretty snug on my teeth, and it didn't budge. Thanks for all the replies guys .
djcoastermark Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Well if you should ever have a problem with a loose fit, try doing what my grandmother did. Her fave flats were the himalaya and trabant. She had an "orthodonic device" (false teeth) and would remove them and put them in her "pocket book" as she boarded. Hey, it worked, though a little gross seeing that.
