I didn't see a seperate post on it in search so I'll bite the bullet...

Does anyone have an experience with or knowledge of CoasterDynamix model coasters? They are a bit on the expensive side, but are much cheaper on ebay. Look great too. Anyone have one or seen them up close?

That's just a teaser picture of the bigger model, take a look at the full gallery on the site. As much as the Knex coaster is fun, this ssuuuuuurreeee is purty.

Considering the train weighs about as much as one of the restrain handles on the full-scale train, I would'nt expect it to behave like it was real... I am cooking up a NoLimits version of it, stay tuned in a couple of months!

Well, seeing as the track/layout is completely customizable (with expansion sets), I'm sure one could design a different layout that would work a little more realisticly with some weighted trains. Add a little lead to each evenly (ala Slot Cars) Though maybe that'd only work on uphills, we'd just overdo the downhills

Hopefully if I get promoted here soon I can afford one of these. Always wanted one, reguardless of the scale/speed thing. Its just too cool.

Now THAT certainly looks extremely painful.

I wonder if I would spend as much time perfecting the track as I do for NoLimits... hehe, yes, I bet I would

I'm tempted to sell all my Knex sets on ebay for one of those coaster dynamix sets. They look awesome, despite how fast they go on the videos on the website.

There's a working model on display on 2nd or 3rd floor on west side of Mall of America. I dunno if it is still there.

Hi TPRers.

I bought the Coaster Dynamix model "Scorpion" off Ebay for £80. There is fun in constructing them and in tweaking them until they work. However, once mine was fine-tuned and working I quickly lost interest (3 weeks) and gave the model to a friend.

It would have been nice to buy add-on packs to build a custom model, but after the novelty has worn off they become rather annoying as they take up a lot of room.

Yes, your thumbs will ache for some considerable time after clicking all the track ties into place... but the effort is worth it.

Read you all soon

When Coaster Dynamix unveiled their Scorpion kit, I was swimming in money so I purchased two kits and made a giant coaster. I designed it to fit on top of my kitchen's potshelf.

Here are some pictures of it. I'm still waiting for Robb to stop by my place with his lipstick camera and shoot a POV.
