Coupon Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) This might be the worst season ever in terms of snow for my local resort. Instead of snow, we're forecasted to get 5 inches of rain this weekend.. I regret buying a season pass so much! Edited February 15, 2015 by Coupon
K1ngdaKa88 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 ^ I can understand you, some winters here we had time to go skiing just a few times because we didn't had enough snow. This year we have now much snow, but only since middle of January! I'm happy to go skiing tomorrow, even if it is going to be clowdy!
nicman Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 ^^That sucks, we got hit with some really warm weather around Christmas so ALL of our snow melted, but after a few weeks the weather started to get cold and now we have tons of snow. We have not gotten any weather over 1 degree since January.
nicman Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I have another snowboarding run, Make sure to watch in 1080p:
K1ngdaKa88 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 ^ you're a lucky guy, because I was skiing today and the weather was horrible. The upper half of the Mountain was inside the fog, the under half was under the fog. It also was snowing and winding! But one thing was cool: no lines and not too many people on the slopes! Otherwise some slopes looked like nobody went there for today and they also were in the fog!
jray21 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 It's been a super warm winter in Tahoe this year. Last weekend, it was raining at the summit! This week we are pushing 70. Great winter for doing stuff at home, terrible winter for snowboarding and for water.
nicman Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Today I went snowboarding and it was great. All powdery and great temperature (-15C). I also found some awesome back-country kind trails with tons of snow. But I hit my nose and it started to bleed a ton when I was doing my 360. But right now everything is okay.
K1ngdaKa88 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 ^ cool Yesterday evening I went sledging in the dark! (I know it isn't Skiing or Snowboarding, but it is a Winter sport) The cool was that we didn't had to walk up because we were sitting on the sledges and the ski lift pulled us up! And down we were also pretty fast, around 60kph (nearly 40mph)! A few times I nearly felt off the sledge, but I stayed on it! Once I had short Airtime!! And the most important is, that we had fun!
nicman Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 ^Sounds like fun, the other day when I went snowboarding with my school, we had a race and I felt a lot of forces.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 It's been too damn cold to go skiing here lately. I bought a season pass this year, and there's no way I'm going to get my money's worth at this point. The next time I'm even going to have the opportunity to go isn't until the third week of March.
TPDave Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Well I survived Snowboarding in Utah last month with no broken bones so that's a bonus! I'm definitely not a die hard addict, I think a few days every couple of years is more than enough for me
K1ngdaKa88 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Today I went skiing at Klosters-Davos. The weather was sunny, but windy on top of the summit. There were quite a few other people, but not too many. The snow was also really good. There was a Ski-Cross track with LOTS of bunny hops, which give you nice airtime! There were several Bunny Hops in a row and that several times! I had a cool day.
jray21 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm so glad I didn't get a pass this year. It's been beyond terrible. Barely any snow.
Diamondbacker27 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I went skiing a month ago. I found it one of the hardest, most painful experiences of my life. I couldn't walk my feet hurt so bad (Maybe, I'm a wimp ) It's also very hard to put on one of your skis while the other is sliding off. I found it hard to stop, and I fell down about 12 times. Eventually, I gave up. Certainly not something for me. But, I can see why some enjoy it as a hobby!
dippindotsguy8 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I used to ski all the time, both downhill and freestyle. Terrain parks were my source of thrills during the amusement park offseason. Since moving to a much warmer part of the country, I haven't gone for a couple of years. I need to get back into it.
805Andrew Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I'm so glad I didn't get a pass this year. It's been beyond terrible. Barely any snow. I usually do a trip to Tahoe each year in March but I didn't this year. I didn't even buy the Snowbomb Pass like I have other years. Now I'm glad I didn't. I got lucky the two times I hit the slopes this season that the snow was "good enough" - Badger Pass in December and Bear Mountain/Snow Summit (Big Bear) on Super Bowl Sunday. I also got comped tickets both times: Birthday ticket at Badger Pass and I won a ticket from KROQ for Bear Mountain. It seems like the last few seasons have been bad here in CA except for right after a storm. This year, though, it was bad for the whole West. I met people from Calgary, Canada a week ago that said there was hardly any snow there this season and that it has been in the 60s there recently. Global Climate Change may be finally having a toll on our ski seasons unfortunately.
nicman Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I went to Mont Saint Anne this march break and it was great, no crowds at all, here are some photo's and videos: Moguls! Alone in a Gondola Alone in a Gondola Alone in a Gondola Alone in a Gondola
K1ngdaKa88 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 ^that Looks nice! we can´t ski any more because all snow is melted now!
nicman Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Another video from Mont Ste Anne: Make sure to watch in high quality.
pǝʇɹǝʌuı Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I just started school in Utah this year. I picked up skiing and it's amazing here! I'd been skiing before, but never like on mountains like the ones in Utah. Unfortunately it was a pretty bad season so I only went a few times, but I'd definitely love to get even more into it in the future. Perhaps I'll travel around and try out different spots in the country. Take this with the knowledge that I haven't skied much outside of Utah, but IMO it's the best place in the US to ski. The snow is incredible and the resorts are great.
jray21 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Nice pictures/video. I'm so bummed that this year was so terrible. I really hope next year is better!
Midgetman82 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I'm bummed that I never got to go Snowboarding this past winter AT ALL. I'm probably gonna make up for it by splurging on my university's annual ski trip for a second time to another major resort this upcoming winter.
terdferg Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I love snowboarding even more than coasters. While I mainly ride in the Poconos, This year I did a lot of backcountry in the Stowe area. The east coast had been epic the past few years
Ape Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Steamboat a few years ago. Backflip Back in the day Doing a disaster on the staircase
nicman Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Just went snowboarding today, and here is a cool picture I got:
