Okay, my mom was doing laundry today and I left one thing in my shorts. I left a GBA cartridge in my cargo pocket (from when I brought along my Nintendo DS at school). It was one of my personal favorite games (Super Mario World) and it went through the wash.

Now, being in water for an hour and tumbled around for a long time, my mom then yells at me, "THIS was in your pocket!" My mom held up the cartridge, I went "NOOO!!!", then I decided to play the cartridge.

The cart still works, with the data on it still intact.

So, how tough is Nintendo's stuff? I know I threw my contoller at the Gamecube a couple times during times I tried to beat Event Match 51 in SSBM.

Post about your weird game incidences here.

I smack my Xbox controler on stuff all the time. The controler shows no damage, can't say the same for my TV or desk tho.

I'm still waiting for the day where i get pissed and throw my PSP. When it's in the air is when I'll realise my mistake.

Same with me, that Event Match was pretty much impossible.

In Super Mario Sunshine, one part of the game drove me absolutely insane. I don't want to talk about it...

Dude...SMS was frickin impossible to beat. I got 20 sunshines and just quit. I'm not terrible at videogames, but this sh*t was hard for me. I feel so ashamed, cause my 6 y/o has pretty much beaten it.

i remember a show that tested the game Cube, and the PS2. There were tests like falling from 2 stories, gets thrown down stairs, having water spilled on it, extreme heat, and strenth. The game cub pretty much passed every test. Now the PS2 only passed heat and that was it.

Nintendo always makes nice products.

My N64 stuff took alot of abuse. I spilt an entire coke on the console once (while it was turned off). All i did was wipe is off and let it dry and it worked. The only problem I had was when I pushed the reset button it wouldn't pop back up.

And of course, my controllers went through the regular throwing and banging, with no ill sideeffects.

My rumble pack got it the worst I think. In a fit of rage, my brother chucked it against my basements concrete floor which broke most of the outter grey shell off. Of course in Nintendo fashion, it still worked like new!

^You can do that with alot of electronics depending upon the liquid being spilled. If its off and no power is being supplied to it, let it completely dry then use it and it should be ok unless theres some odd residue left over or something.

Ive had to do that with a few small portable games for road trips but that is it.

I broke a keyboard holder whilst playing Counter-Strike in 2001 in my "hay-day". I got pissed that I died while carrying a ridiculous 6-1 kill-death ratio and slammed both my fists into the tray. Didnt break, didnt even make any noise. Then I hit it again, didnt break. The next time I died I hit it with one fist, off center and about 75% the power of the first 2 and it snapped right in half.

I then preceded to play with the board on my lap and completely obliterated the other teams - a bit ironic.

However that was years ago, Ive toned way, way down. Though I still get a little agitated while playing TimeSplitters or Halo2 when someone kills using an exact same scenario that didnt work for me. (like hitting someone point-blank with shotgun 4 times to no avail - they take one shot and I die)

Other than that, far more mild mannered. I understand the importance of working electronics.

PS2 controllers are flimsy pieces of fucking shit.

I'm playing Major League Baseball 2K5, and am tied 3-3 against the Blue Jays, a team which I should be beating easily. So, for no reason at all, a player crushed a 450 foot homer off me for two runs. Bad luck. But I threw a PERFECT pitch, a fastball low and outside, which was the batter's extreme cold zone (and I hit both targets perfectly because I felt the vibration on both of them), but for some reason, it came off as a mistake pitch and the player, RUSS ADAMS, hit it 500 feet over the Green Monster. So, I slammed my controller on the fucking wood floor, and now the vibration doesn't work.

Well, I've had my GBA Zelda: Link to the past washed and when I moved my laundry over, I saw the cart sitting in the bottom of the washer. I let it dry for a few hours and voila! Game works, saved files still there.

My brother's Metroid Fusion got both washed and chewed on by his dog and still works. To top off his luck, he accidentally got his iPod mini washed and it worked after a few days.

Solution - dont throw perfect pitches. Throw imperfect ones
