chasbron
Apollo's Chariot definitely. I love the lake, the layout, everything However, no matter how you put it, these two coasters are some of the best I have ever ridden on!
Ejectorbater
AC gets my vote easily. Nitro is okay since its a B&M hyper but just okay for me.
Canobie Coaster
I preferred Apollo's Chariot to Nitro, but I too have them very closely rated. Apollo's Chariot is 2nd on my steel coaster list and Nitro is 3rd. Both of them trail another B&M hyper in Behemoth. Both Apollo's Chariot and Nitro are great, but I prefer Apollo's setting and find that there is more airtime in the back seat on Apollo's drops. Josh Linn
I got to ride both Nitro and Apollo's Chariot within a week of each other in 2002 and preferred Apollo, but barely. Had the chance to ride Nitro again in 2008 and thought it was "meh". It wouldn't hurt to ride Apollo again to get a refresher, but it blows Nitro out of the water IMO. coasterfreak101
I've always preferred Apollo, but my rides on Nitro at the end of last season were much better than any ride before - no idea why. And my rides on Apollo at the beginning of this season were slower than usual (it was about 50* outside), so that didn't help. Apollo's first drop to the river and return run - mostly the last drop to the river and the surprise drop at the end - are what put it ahead for me. stuff2break
I don't know about anyone else, but i really didn't like the restraints on nitro.. I am normal build and 5'11 and i just felt like i was going to fall out the whole time.. Rode it a few times, enjoyed it but it's not even on my top 10 because of that reason! Skycoastin Steve
^To set your mind at ease, it's literally 100% impossible to fall out of a B&M hyper seat. The lapbars have to go down 3 clicks, and when they do, even the tiniest, skinniest person cannot get out of them. As an example, at Carowinds last year, a girl on my crew who weighed maybe 110 pounds and was about 5'3" got in the test seat in front of Intimidator. We put the lapbar down 3 clicks, and even though she had TONS of room between the lapbar and her thighs, she couldn't get out of the seat no matter how hard she tried. You would literally have to bend your legs backwards (like a bird) to get out of the seat. So next time you get on a B&M hyper, just think of that and you'll feel much better. cal1br3tto
I was concerned about the restraints on Raging Bull prior to riding, but I ended up feeling secure. I always imagined I'd be apprehensive of the Diamondback and Behemoth seating configurations, but by now I probably won't mind them.
Intimidator305
I must say Behemoth, Diamondback, and Intimidator do create a more thrilling ride because of the way the seats are arranged. I like it much more than the 4 across... You feel much more free and more likely to fall out at any moment. I also think this creates a bit better feeling of airtime too as you aren't close to anybody when on the outside part of the train.
Philrad71
Last time I rode Nitro, the restraint out-clicked one notch when we were going down the first drop and for an insane moment, I thought it was going to completely open and I was going to plunge to my death. Being that it was a walk-on, we went around and rode it again after that though - love it. As far as favorites...they're both great hypers, but I give the slight edge to Nitro just because of it's size and nice floater air in the back. I still haven't ridden either at night though, which I think would both be great because of their locations! As far as Griffon and Sheikra...oh, never mind! I was wondering this myself lately. Why the heck does SFGAm insist on trimming Raging Bull on the entry to it's camelback? I thought the only logical reason could be that they were worried about losing someone. It really ticks me off.
Skycoastin Steve
^The trims typically have to do with stress on the train and track. If it's pulling too many negative g's, it can really put a lot of stress on the wheel assemblies and track. B&M is pretty obsessive with controlling the speed of their hypers.
