SharkTums Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 Tomorrow is the last day to buy your tickets!!!!! If you want to come in before 2pm, you MUST pre-purchase tickets!!! http://www.santaclaritafoodfest.com/
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 ^ Oh that's cool, I thought it was open to everybody at noon.
SharkTums Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 ^Nope. 11am VIP, Noon - prepurchased tickets, 2pm - tickets purchased at the door. Worked really well last time.
SharkTums Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 VERY BAD NEWS!!! The event promoter has CANCELLED THE EVENT!!!! What a joke!?!? They're claiming it's cause of a lack of sales, yet the last event had the trucks with giant lines and selling out. Don't totally buy all this. from dan silberstein dan@cozmocard.com to Elissa Alvey Thu, Jun 2, 2011 at 10:19 AM subject Re: Order REFUNDED for VIP Santa Clarita Food Truck Festival Yes, it’s cancelled. There were only 200 presales, which is even remotely enough to justify doing the event. On 6/2/11 10:14 AM, "Elissa Alvey" wrote: The entire event has been cancelled!??! The website is still saying it's this Saturday. http://www.santaclaritafoodfest.com This is very disappointing, we have a big group coming from all over California and Nevada for this! Please confirm and let me know if this is really the case. --Elissa Ok, so now for anyone who's still planning on being in the area, what should we do!!?!? Buca group meal? Takeover Moon Wok? Do not even think about suggesting SFMM to me!
fatdaddy Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Let's all go the the Beaumont Cherry Festival and watch the midget kiss tribute band!
SharkTums Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 ^You have fun with that one Caesar! Other things I was thinking we could do: - Rent out the room at the Korean BBQ place - Indoor blacklight minigolf - Bowling
jray21 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Rent out the Mooseburger Lodge ! Amy and I are up for anything. All those choices sound fun!
shpm5150 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I still plan on coming down Saturday, I'm also up for anything.
larrygator Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Well I'm still in town. I won't suggest SFMM, since I'll be there on Sunday. Indoor back-lit mini-golf sounds awesone! How about we takeover the local Chick-Fil-A? I'm sure Tyler is game. Edited June 2, 2011 by larrygator
ILoveRides Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Brittney and I were about to buy tickets to this! Sad it got canceled. We might be interested in the bowling or mini golf if that happens. Are there any good laser tag places or arcades up there?
ILoveRides Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I'm guessing it's too far... but if you want to come down to Orange County this looks fun (I haven't tried it yet though, so I can't really attest to the fun-ness): http://ocy.jumpskyhigh.com/
SuperShawn Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 What ever gets decided on I'm in still. Bring on food fun and good times. And if any one in the area is really really wanting to hit up some food trucks, tonight on Melrose by Fairfax High School in Hollywood from 6-10pm is their monthly food truck night.

However, I'm guessing that Camarillo would be too far for it to be a food truck replacement. Anyways, I'm definitely hoping I can make it to whatever ends up replacing the Food Truck Festival.
ILoveRides Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 ^ I vote orange county cuz it's 3 miles from my apartment .
fatdaddy Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I'd take raw dog a$$ over chick fil a, but since this has the potential to be epic, even without fire spitting midgets, I'm down for whatever. I vote activity + food.
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 That totally blows. Saw the email when we were at USH this morning. We are all disappointed. I'm down for anything except Chick Fil A. Robb and Elissa should do this event instead of whoever did it this time.
SharkTums Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Ok, here's what I'm suggesting... Everyone go Saturday morning and go get your kiddie credit at SFMM. Then we'll all meet up and probably do black light mini-golf! Then we'll do something fun for a late lunch! Email me if you're still planning on coming up and we'll work it all out!
Philrad71 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 ^ Sorry about the cancellation...sounds like a great time! I read an article in the Buffalo News that these types of food trucks are also taking off in Buffalo now, so I am excited to go up some day to see what they have!
gisco Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 One good thing is that since I'm staying at the Embassy Suites, I can take advantage of the free made to order breakfast Saturday! I was going to skip it in favor of over eating at noon.
chadster Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 ^ Now there you go! Just tell them you have like 20 people staying in your room and you guys can have a Embassy Suites takeover!

I was going to skip it in favor of over eating at noon. I was going to take full advantage of the breakfast and still stuff my face at the Food Trucks. Maybe we can make it back to the Hotel for free drinks at Manager's Reception Happy Hour. Edited June 3, 2011 by larrygator
