PhishyBrewer Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^I would give $1000 right now for a keg of Great Lake's Dortmunder Gold. I might even cut off a toe, or sell Gavin
Hattuchili Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^ Oh Wally, that beer must be really good, if you would do that things! --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^It is good... damn good. I'm thinking about taking a break from beer though. I need to work on my figure
FlyingScooter Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I'm gonna have to try that at Great Lakes. Heck, it's right down the road from my house, about 3/4 of a mile.
Hattuchili Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^It is good... damn good. I'm thinking about taking a break from beer though. I need to work on my figure LMAO. No chance, Wally! If you see a good beer you must drink it. Thats your curse. --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I know I brought this upon myself, but every one this board must think I’m some crazy that just spends his time drinking and riding coasters. I think I need to change that a bit. I am a responsible adult that enjoys and occasional GOOD brew. And actually, right now there isn’t even a single beer in my fridge. And there hasn’t been for a while. I don’t know why I even feel like I need to be defending myself right now. Like I said, I did bring this upon myself with all the pictures and sorts. I need to set a new course. No more pictures of me and beer again. Sorry for the rant.
Hattuchili Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005  Sorry, Wally! It was only a joke! I know you are not only drinking beer and riding coasters! I have seen the most pictures on your site! It looks more like you are a family guy, who enjoy a good beer and have fun at theme parks. Please dont stop posting your great and funny pictures. I really like that and I would miss it so much! --Sören "what a bad day" Schomburg
Louise Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^^ People often tend to define others by what they do, don't apologise for us doing that (I've already done it today on another thread), not your fault. Although emphasising your job by having "brewer" in your username probably doesn't help... As Soren says, you don't come across as "just" a guy who likes theme parks and beer, I don't post too much, but I read a lot, and you come across as a genuinely good guy, who loves his family very much, and who likes to have fun at parks and *occasionally* enjoy a good beer. Nothing wrong with that. Ignore what any of us says, do what makes you and your family happy! If that involves not drinking... Great stuff! I'm off the booze myself at the moment now I don't fit into ANY of my jeans anymore!
robbalvey Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 Tonight Rick & Gwen were down and we had our own little private party: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17589&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=261 Wally told me to say hello to Rick and have a beer for him, so that's exactly what we did!
Nrthwnd Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Drove downtown to my home bar, had only one beer, played some pinball, ran into a few buds, then drove home. The beer was Winchester Draft. I like it.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I really feel I need to apologize for my mood yesterday. It was just a bad day the got worse. On top of working a double back, and getting bit my a black widow spider I also received news that my best friends’ father, a man that has treated me like son, suffered two strokes on Friday. I know it’s no excuse for my bitterness, so I just want to say I’m sorry. I also suffered a stoke when I was younger, and it’s nothing I would want anyone to go through. No even my worst enemy. So when I heard the news that Sam was in the hospital, it kind of set my mood for the day. Soren and Mark, thank you for your kind words with the PM’s you sent me. There are truly great people on this board, I’m happy to be a member and be part of such a great group. The beer and wine photos will continue! Sam and I enjoying Molsons at Cedar Point last May.
Louise Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 ^ Sorry to hear that. Hold up, black widow?! Apologies for my British ignorance but I thought those things killed you...??!! Maybe not?! :?
Hattuchili Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Oh, I am sorry to hear that, Wally. However, it is good to know our good old man is back on the boards. --Sören
CoasterFanatic Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Sorry to hear that Wally. Maybe I can cheer you up with my latest beer photo. $5.75 Iron City at Heinz Field
FlyingScooter Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 ^Sorry to hear that, Wally. We're here for you, Man! (raising coffee, bummer that we can't have beer at work. )
PhishyBrewer Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 ^^Hey Ted, That guy to the left, did he ever work at Cedar Point? Looks like one of the dudes that worked Power Tower when it opened. Any way... Paulaner Hefe is STILL sold out. So I went with the next best thing. Paulaner Marzen
CoasterFanatic Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Hey Ted, That guy to the left, did he ever work at Cedar Point? Nope, but since you have worked there you probably have seen him before. He goes there .... a lot!
65skylark Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Hey, I know I'm kinda new here but I also wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about you friends dad Wally. Hopefully everything is going to work out. Just got back from a crabing trip at Newport Bay on the Oregon Coast. We caught 20 keepers just from the dock setting a few traps and using 2 crab rings. Of course, tonight we had crab and what better to go with crab than a nice classic American pale ale from Deschutes Brewery. http://deschutesbrewery.com/BrewPub/OnTap/default.aspx Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Hmmmmm....
PhishyBrewer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Just got back from a crabing trip at Newport Bay on the Oregon Coast. We caught 20 keepers just from the dock setting a few traps and using 2 crab rings. HOLY CRAP! I think I found a reason to visit Oregon.
4718 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Had a Guinness Draught tonight, I guess I could call it a "pint", because saying it came in a can is kinda cheesy. Pretty darn good, think I'm gonna stick to Guinness Draught and Newcastle Brown Ale as my favorites, with Newcastle just barely getting the edge.......it's sooooo good.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 ^Guinness is alright. Have you ever tried Beamish? Mmm... that's a heavenly stout.
4718 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Nah, never even heard of it. What's the exact name?
Hattuchili Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Awww, Beamish is awesome. It is a nice beer from Ireland. I really like it a lot. We have a cool Irish Pub here, where we go from time to time to drink it! Here is a link: http://www.beamish.ie --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Looks like I need to do a Photo TR of me going to the Streets of London Pun in MidTown and drink some Beamish.
