PhishyBrewer
***1000th POST IN THE BEER THREAD!*** I just finished cutting the grass for the first time ever. And I need a beer. Hop Wallop from Victory. Thanks to Derek. Me doing my hop Wallop prospector face.
Rugged One
1,000th post! Kind of fitting it's done by the guy who started the thread. Great pics Derek! It looks like you and Wally had a great time. Man, I really need to get out there now. Maybe not this year but definitely next. Finished up with some Rockville Rye while doing my best Me face. Started out with probably my favorite of their staple beers. The Water Gap Wheat. Just a really decent wheat beer that always hits the spot. Stopped by the ABC for lunch today. They had a good number of stuff of tap.
DerekRx
Awesome Heath face, Heath! As far as San Francisco goes, I know next May the ACE Spring Con will be at PGA and SCBB. I intend to go, so we should have a few free hours or so to pop into the city and hit a few breweries. If you end up doing SFMW at some point, that's the time to hit Pyramid. I think next time I definitely want to hit Magnolia and the Beach Chalet, and could definitely be interested in heading back to Thirsty Bear. DerekRx
Missing the Californian temperature, beer, and not being at work, tonight's beer will at least take care of 1 of those problems. now that puts a smile on my face! Yup, the Thunderhead IPA made it safely home with me
Rugged One
Sounds like a plan Derek. TPR Brew Crew Nor Cal meetup next Spring. Speaking of Spring, I know it's officially here when the Spring brews starting hitting the market. In this case, it's this years batch of Dogfish Head Aprihop. The Dogfish Head Aprihop. It's hoppy and a little fruity and damn proud of it!
DerekRx
I've got lemons, and I can only think of one thing to do with them....Pyramid Hefe Weizen! Squeeze the lemon, drop it in, and you better believe it! Will it be as good as the one on Saturday? Continuing with the Pyramid theme, now with lemon! PhishyBrewer
I had Vicotry's Weizenbock, thanks to Derek. It's like nothing I've ever had before. Good, but very different. And also while looking at Victory's website, it looks like they need a new brewer. I wish I lived closer.

PhishyBrewer
So the brewery asked folks to take a voluntary layoff for Thursday and Friday. I didn’t have to take the time off, but I did anyway. Four days off!!! I’m starting my little mini-vacation with Pyramid’s Apricotweizen.
Rugged One
Thank to Derek again... next up was the 10 Year Alt by Victory. Nice taste, but left me with cotton mouth. Doesn't everyone get cotton mouth after a couple (or maybe more than a couple) of beers Wally? Went with a Rogue Dead Guy last night. Nice hoppy amber ale. The Dead Guy never lets me down. The Rogue Dead Guy Ale. It's better when it's dead!
memphish
I loved Dead Guy, but its been dead to me ever since their American Amber Ale came my way. Too bad they don't have American Amber on tap for pint nights.
DerekRx
Almost forgot tonight I've been so busy! I decided to take after Wally and have another Pyramid, this time Apricot Weizen for the evening. And it hits its mark! Ooooh, smells apricotty I wonder if they have apricots on Lost island?
Bush985
I really like the Apricot Wiezen. It's pretty tasty. I wish I had a cold beer right now. Maybe i'll go buy a six pack. -RD
Rugged One
Love the shirt Derek. I knew you wouldn't pass up some Thristy Bear gear when you were out there. Tried one of the new offerings from Magic Hat tonight. The Circus Boy Hefe. This one was pretty average. It had some citrus and spicey notes to it but in the end was just kind of watery and boring. The Magic Hat Circus Boy Hefe. They need to keep this one locked up in the cage.

saturday97
Wasatch Brewery's brewer decided to make an Irish Ale for March, just for local pubs, which luckily included the place within staggering distance from our house. It was great and with a special brew like this, the state of Utah is less the wiser about the alcohol content. DerekRx
After finally installing side window deflectors on my car that I got for Christmas, I was in need for a beer. (yeah, that's the reason!) For some unknown reason, I was thinking about a Thunderhead IPA all day. I don't know if it was because I was listening to "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC, the forecast calling for thunderstorms, or something else. OK, I now know why I wanted this beer all day, because its good! ('sgoooood!) Fine, with no will power, I gave into the temptation that's been haunting me since 7am Mmmmm, why do I keep thinking about Thunderhead IPA?? What beer should I drink tonight!? And where in the world IS Carmen SanDiego!??
PhishyBrewer
Look at what I got a few days before Saturdays release. The shirt explains it all.
DerekRx
Yeah, rub it in. Still, since I haven't had it before, I really can't be jealous. And besides, even when I do try it and then can't get it anymore thanks to the seasonality of it, I've got 3 cases of HopDevil in the basement, and the brewery is 45 minutes away Of course, any time you want to send me some Curveball and Legunitas Maximus, etc, feel free! I don't know what the bartender at Pyramid thought of it, but I sure enjoy it! And speaking of HopDevil, I may as well have one tonight
Rugged One
I'm going to have to keep an eye out for that Curve Ball around here. Went with a couple of Nor Cal IPAs last night. First up was the Lagunitas IPA. Delicious as always. Then I tried something new that one of the clerks at my liquor store recommened to me. The Boonville Hop Ottin' IPA. This is one of those IPAs that more about the flavor than the hops. Very sweet with some hints of vanilla and other stuff and very smooth. It's definitley different than most other IPAs out there. Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' IPA. Not bad but not quite my cup of tea either. Lagunitas IPA. Yummy as always.
