DerekRx
Caught a random stomach virus, so I only felt good enough for one this evening. Decided on the Ridge Line Amber Ale by Great Divide in hopes that it would taste like other good ambers such as Fat Tire or Dock Street. Sadly, it didn't taste like much of anything, and I don't think it was because of my illness. Not nearly hoppy enough, with hardly any nutty maltiness either. Should be called Amber Lite Lager Will this taste like a Fat Tire? It says its a rich amber ale
DorneyDude
Bought my wife a new car tonight (06 Pontiac Torrent). Decided to celebrate with a little Weyerbacher Quad.
PhishyBrewer
I didn't work last night. So I stopped at the store and bought 2 bottles of Delirium and went home and watched Wedding Crashers. After the second bottle I was asleep like a baby in my leather chair. Thank you Pink Elephants!
Rugged One
Man, I've had a bottle of Delirium sitting in the fridge for awhile now. I think it may be finally time to break that out this weekend. Last night was Friday night and I don't have to work today, which meant that it was big beer night in the Rhoads household. Tried something new from one of my favs, Bear Republic. The Pete Brown's Tribute Ale. Much like all of the others I've had from them, it seems like they take a style and just jack it up a level. This one was both malty and hoppy with a bitter finish. A little unusual for a brown ale but I dug it! The Bear Republic Pete Brown's Tribute Ale. Thanks Bear Republic. And thank you Pete Brown!
PhishyBrewer
I'm not a fan of Brown Ales because I think they taste like dirt, literally. I wouldn't mind trying Bear Republics though. They usually have some decent beers. The NEW Sierra Navada Brown Ale is crap. On tap atleast.
memphish
^This man speaks the truth. About the Sierra Nevada atleast. But what do I know? I think the whole brewery should produce Harvest Ale only.
Hattuchili
Yesterday I had a few Desperados and hefeweizen at the farewell party! --Sören

It was actually closer to a porter taste than a brown ale.

DerekRx
Rugged One, his wife, and I are on our way for the weekly offseason beer tour, this time to Stoudt's, Legacy, and possible Golden Avalanche. Update and photos later! And my bug is mostly all gone, so plenty of beers for me!
PhishyBrewer
I'll buy anyone a beer that can tell me why I can buy these with my company credit card. There not A-B products... or are they. This I bought with my own money. Pretty sweet set of beer, coasters, glasses and a bottle opener. Sweet! Mmm... beer and glasses. Damn... I wish the beer was cold already. A nicely stocked fridge. The bottle of the barrel.
Hattuchili
^ Mmmhhhh, you bought some Warsteiner! That is so cool, Wally! I like the pack with the glasses and the opener! I´ve never seen something like that here in Germany! --Sören
Nrthwnd
^ I don't remember seeing anything like that, here in Vancouver, LOL! Nice, very nice set-up, Wally. A complete beer 'package to go,' heh heh. Very nice.
DerekRx
:In conjunction, Rugged One and I present: "The 222 Brew Tour!" First stop, Stoudt's in Adamstown... Derek stops thinking about his actions, and enjoys a Double IPA! meanwhile, Heath enjoys a Fat Dog Stout, something he didn't like last time round. My how times have changed! After his Oktoberfest, fresh from a new keg, Derek wonders if his last beer put him in an awkward position... and Derek inserts the obligatory "Ellen eats a sausage picture" bockworst meal picture Heath has a crab calzone... We move on to the restaurant, where Kim has a pizza The Brew Crew poses with the owner of Stoudt's, Ed Stoudt after the tour Lancaster County's version of Wally works hard on a Saturday Rugged One is such a "Coaster Enthusiast", isn't not even funny! I enjoy a blonde double mai bock as well Stoudt's has plenty of stuff on tap year round Before the tour, Heath enjoyed a Mai Bock (with his eyes closed) This is Stouts, where we started off our day
DerekRx
after Stoudt's, the crew enjoys a surprisingly great visit to Kutztown! Home of Golden Avalanche, which just sounds dirty! Luckily this sign was around to tell me to have hope for the future! But I was sad, because I couldn't break the seal... Kutztown Tavern is much better than both of us thought it would be! Kim doesn't seem too pleased yet with the Winter Bock...give her a year before you judge her Derek then breaks out the "barrel aged burbon barrel stout", which is too much for him to handle on such short notice! While Heath tries the Onyx Cream Stout Derek enjoys an Olde Brick Alt They've got plenty of homebrews and others on tap! Kutztown Tavern is nearby the University and is also home to Golden Avalanche Brewing We've got Rock Star Parking, giddidy, giddidy!
DerekRx
After a brief stint in Kutztown, we stopped off local for me, at Canal Street, home of Legacy In short, it was another great beer drinking weekend. Bring on the coaster season! Derek breaks it down with the pilsner he was born in, the Reading Pils Afterwards, he has enough motivation to try the Nor'Easter Stout, which he enjoys! Heath enjoys a phone call with the East Coast Beer Rep, Tom Smith! Later Heath enjoys the Euphoria, Legacy's Belgian They've got plenty to choose from I kick it back with a Triple H (Heavy Handed Hops) for a starter Rugged One likes the Hedonism, heavy in hops for a Red! Thank goodness they have a sign, its dark outside and I've had a couple beers tonight, I don't know where we are!
Rugged One
Once again Derek, you amaze me with the speed of which you get those pics up. We had a good time, as usual, drinking some great beers with ya! I only wish I could keep my eyes open when that darn flash goes off.
PhishyBrewer
Awesome pics Derek. But seriously... this guy is working a lot harder than I ever do. I would of at least have a chair to sit on and newspapers in my back pocket. Oh hell... I'd just be asleep.
Rugged One
I'll buy anyone a beer that can tell me why I can buy these with my company credit card. There not A-B products... or are they. Hmmm, let me see: Corona is designated a "Budweiser Brand" and Bud has a 50% stake in Corona to help boost it's international presence. Do they market for them as well now? A-B distibutes Widmer Bros. products. A-B will become the U.S. distributor of Grolsch. *This is rather recent* A-B and Redhook have teamed up in a joint partnership. A first I believe between "big beer" and "craft beer". All in all, I think that's it's very smart for Bud to realize that they need to get involved in both the import and craft beer aspects of the industry. There's a reason why they are on top of the game. Better yet, it's best for Wally, you get's to buy all of this stuff on his card. And yes, I did look this stuff up but just because I was so darn curious.
PhishyBrewer
I'll buy you a beer anyway. Let's see, the next time I'll be in Penn is... who the hell knows?

Rugged One
Why it's something that you intrigued me with two months ago Wally. The Lagunitas Maximus. Man I had to dig back deep in the thread for this pic!
Rugged One
After Dr. Ruth prescribed me multiple daily beers last night, I hit up a couple of Victory brews tonight. Actually it's a pretyy good time right now for getting Victory specialty beers on the market. The Ten Years Alt. I really like this. Awesome malt to hops transition. Makes me appreciate fine brewing. The St. Victorious Doppelbock. Sweet and smooth and malty. I'd love to have this one on tap in the house right now.
CoasterFanatic
Heath, I can pick up the Lagunitas at two different places here in Pittsburgh. If you are ever in the area, let me know and I will give you directions.
