DerekRx Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Tonight's beer has been sponsored by the country of Belgium...sort of. I could handle being a monk, except for the lack of sex and the total commitment to the Lord. Stoudt's Triple, a Belgian style Abbey Ale...Originally brewed by sex-free Christian dudes all living together
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I could handle being a monk, except for the lack of sex and the total commitment to the Lord. LMAO! I wonder is this thread will EVER become a sticky? :?
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I have to drive to the north end of Sacramento to get this stuff... but it is so worth it! Paulaner Hefeweizen from Munich, Germany
DerekRx Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 If it doesn't become a sticky, we'll just have to do our part and drink every day to keep this thread bumped to the top. I know I'm game
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I just asked Robb, and he said "No!" He said we drink so much as it is, it's already kind of a sticky It's all good!
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Today was a big day for beers from Germany Warsteiner from Warsteiner, Germany
CoasterFanatic Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Funny you should mention that. Thursday are "pool league" night with my beer loving buddies (Search 'Beer Fest' for explanation). John got a German tap for christmas and the current keg (well one of them) is Spaten. Had a nice tall glass before going down to the bar. // Does Soren approve?
Hattuchili Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 ^^/^ Yeah, German beers! Warsteiner is not bad, I had one last week! However, yesterday I only had a good old Beck´s beer! --Sören
USRoadTripper Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I just enjoyed a glass of Coastal Ridge reisling. I'd never had it before and it was great...will definitley buy it again. It was much better than the Concha y Torro Frontera. That's about it for me, as I don't like beer! -Julie
4718 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Corona was okay, but at the same time it wasn't all too special. If I'm going to blow $3 on a beer, I'll just stick with my buds Newcastle and Guinness.......unless there's another one out there I have yet to find. I'm kinda limited to big bottles, I'm too cheap to pop for a 6 pack, and wouldn't know where to hide it if I did go so far as getting that much.
DenDen Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 $3!!!!! For a BEER?!?!?!? WOW! That's expensive!
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 ^Have I just gotten used to Californian prices? $3 is nothing! A tall beer at Friday's will cost me atleast $6.50... and that's cheap.
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Something I noticed on the Warsteiner label. Best Before 24 Nov 05 9:00 9:00 WTF? AM or PM?
CoasterFanatic Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 ^ I hope that isn't 2009. Think of all the preservatives!
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 ^The picture didn't come out all that well... it does say 9:00
memphish Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 $6.50 for a beer?!? I would shoot myself in the face....or you know, just not go to a bar. $2.50 pints, you call it, is how I roll. (barely :?) Wally, does Anchor Steam usually taste incredibly different draught vs in a bottle?
Bush985 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I had some Japanese Beer last night as part of my Sakke Bomb, but I can't remember what it was for the life of me. It was pretty good though alone, I had a few sips before I endulged in the wonderful bomb! -RD
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Wally, does Anchor Steam usually taste incredibly different draught vs in a bottle? I have noticed that. I enjoy the bottled stuff more than the draft. I know like Sierra Nevada had 2 different recipes for it's pale ale. A bottled one and a draft one. If you really try, you can really taste the difference.

There is a sushi place here in Sacto I can't go to anymore because the bartender always forced sake bomb after sake bomb on me. And I don't like leaving my car in the city. Or getting sick for that matter. More than likely it was Sapporo and Sake
Hattuchili Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 What a day, it is really time for a good cold beer! ... or 2 - 3 beers! --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Sorry to hear that Soren... I'm having one of the best days of my life! I have a beer for you
stew560 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Had some Flying Fish with dinner last night! Mmmmm Beer...
