themeparkologist Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Worlds of Fun or Six Flags st louis? Ive been to WoF, but never to sfsl so could someone give me a comparison(i go to WOF at least once a year)?
ebl Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 If you've never been to SFStL, then go to SFStL. Then you can compare the two parks yourself. I've not been to either one, but they both look like good parks. Eric
themeparkologist Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Ive been to SDC and celebration city as well. Those are/were closest probably to where I live.
themeparkman25 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Prowler easily deserved the best new attraction of the year, so I would highly advice going to WoF. The park is great, has a nice vibe to it and has a couple very good coasters.
monsterfan99 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 If you've never been to SFStL, then go to SFStL. Then you can compare the two parks yourself. I agree with this. I have not been to WoF (or Silver Dollar City for that matter) but love SF STL. In that last year I've made the trip down there 3 times from Chicago and loved every visit. I actually prefer ST STL to SF Great America. The park has an odd charm about it where it feels more cozy then small. Evel Knivel and Mr. Freeze are great coaster well worth re-rides, The Boss got better after some off season work to it, and lines are never too bad there. It is well worth a visit there at least once.
themeparkologist Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 ^^Prowler is awesome, have you ridden it yet? ^Thanks. I just wanted to know because my aunt went there back in 1996 but she cant remember anything about it and she wants to take me next year.
Carnage Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I would say SFSTL is better then WoF. Prowler and Patriot were good, but the rest of the park was pretty forgettable. SFSTL I feel has the much better ride lineup.
themeparkman25 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 ^^Yes I have ridden it, back in May. Fantastic is about the only word that describes it.
ebl Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 "...but the rest of the park was pretty forgettable." (Carnage) What park? Eric
Skycoastin Steve Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I went to both on Halloween weekend and liked SFStL a little better than WoF. Evel Knieval, Boss, and Screamin' Eagle are all quality woodies, and Mr. Freeze is obviously a great ride. The Batman is your typical Batman, I thought Patriot was better. Like said before, WoF has Prowler and Patriot and that's about it. Mamba was a big let down, nowhere near as good as Steel Force as far as Morgan hypers go.
themeparkologist Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 ^About Morgan hypers ive heard it your way and the complete opposite. Ive never rode another morgan hyper besides mamba so i cant say.
Erik Johnson Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 "...but the rest of the park was pretty forgettable." (Carnage) What park? Eric He is talking about Worlds of Fun. If I had to choose, I would choose Six Flags St. Louis. I prefer the overall park in terms of rides and atmosphere. I found Six Flags St Louis to be one of the nicer SF parks.
SharkTums Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 ^It was a bad joke Erik! I would also choose SFStL.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Mr. Freeze and Screamin' Eagle That's all I got to say....
ebl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 "It was a bad joke Erik!" (SharkTums) That it was. But they're the kind I'm famous for! Eric
larrygator Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 "It was a bad joke Erik!" (SharkTums) That it was. But they're the kind I'm famous for! Eric You are also famous for not using the quote button!
ebl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 [serious and off-topic]I don't like the quote feature on most forums. I'd rather just quote a clip of what was said and note who said it. And I don't like when people quote the entire post right above them. We just read it---repeating it is clutter.[/serious and off-topic] But I didn't realize I was famous for anything! I may just celebrate over at In-N-Out later on! But y'know, I wouldn't mind going to either WoF or SFStL. For me, both parks would add enough credits to put me over the 100 mark! Eric
mcjaco Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I'd rather just quote a clip of what was said and note who said it. Like this?
ebl Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 ^ I could do that, but I think the way I do it is a bit cleaner. Just a different style. Eric
jjb297 Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I had a pretty extensive trip report where I had alot on this topic. I too, concluded that I liked SFSTL better. Here is the link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52452&highlight=
