The purpose of this topic is to discuss and debate both of the different manufacturers Mega Coasters and to see which one preferred by TPR members.

Personally I would have to say Intamin but I have only been on one B&M, Raging Bull, which is there first one and I know they have been getting better ever since. I have also been on two Intamins, Ride Of Steel (DL) and SROS (Bizzaro), both of which I found to be more forcefull and have more airtime then Bull.

^I have only been on 1 from each, Millennium Force and Diamondback.

Millennium Force is considered by many to be one of the best coasters ever, but I left it feeling very unimpressed. Sure it was fast, but it wasn't forceful enough. I thought all the rides turns were weak and forceless, I really only liked the drop, the speed, and the hill exiting "Millennium Force Island."

Diamondback has also ranked well for some, but I haven't read any reports of it being the best B&M hyper from experienced riders. It turned out to be my favorite roller coaster! I loved the rides open seating and it compliments all the ride's air time. I also thought the ride has good positive G forces at the bottom of each drop, the turn around, and the turn into the mid-course brake.

With that being my only experience I choose B&M.

I havent experienced either so I can't have my own ACTUAL opinion, but from ride reviews, rankings, and watching POV's rides like Bizarro and Goliath (Walibi) look much more fun than B&M megas. I'm really not too impressed with the latest B&M mega coasters, they seem to just go up and down without really changing up the style at all. That said I havent ridden either kind (the only hyper I've ridden is SFMM's Goliath ) but Intamin's seem much more exciting to me.

IMO B&M's take the cake.

I've ridden Millie and got off disappointed and wanting more. It was a fun ride but virtually forceless.

I've ridden Nitro (SFGAdv) and Apollo's Chariot (BGE) and think that these are so much better. Anyone whose ridden back row of Apollo or front row of Nitro will see where I am coming from.

From what I have heard Millie is not very good after the first drop if you want to see a great forcefull ride, go to SFNE and ride Bizzaro

I haven't gotten a ride on a B&M hyper yet, so i can't give a solid opinion yet. However, I can say that I don't get the forceless part of MF. Every time that I've ridden it I've felt it was quite forceful. The first drop is ridiculous, and the first overbank gives some of the highest forces I've ever experienced. Every time I've ridden I've greyed-out on that turn. The knot on the island is also crazy, and the airtime on the exiting hill is pretty strong. For me, I love the ride, but can't fairly vote until I get a ride on Diamondback.

The only B&M Hyper I've been on would be Nitro, and I've been on MF and Expedition GeForce, and Intamin wins hand down, I don't like MF as I think it's boring besides the first drop, but Expedition GeForce hands down blew Nitro out of the water.

Intamin, Millennium Force is my favorite coaster and I was very un-impressed with Diamondback. Other Intamin hypers look like they have more air-time than other B&Ms, they're higher rated, and they have more interesting layouts.

My vote: B&M. Why are people comparing Millennium Force to stuff like Diamondback? Those are two different types of coasters. You should be comparing DB to Superman: Ride of Steel or something like that. Not a monstrous that's supposed to deliver a whole different experience than B&M mega coasters.

How do you figure? To my knowledge, they're the same ride design by two different MANUFACTURERS. So a comparison bwtween the two is just. With that said, I have been one one of each.

Millienium Force: Tall, Fast, and nothing else

Nitro: Airtime, airtime, and more airtime. Seeing as how that's what it was designed to simulate, I'd give it a big fat MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

DB, Nitro, Raging Bull, etc. are all hypers. Millie's a Giga amd it alot taller than the tallest B&M hyper? Don't you think that's a little unfair?

This is how I would rate the B&M/Intamin megas I've ridden:

1. Superman/Bizzaro

-miles and miles away-

2. Goliath at SFOG

3. Ride of Steel at Darien Lake

4. Apollo's Chariot

5. Nitro

6. Behemoth

7. Superman at SFA (had a lot of rattle last year)

8. Millennium Force

I voted for Intamin, because Superman simply blows the others away, and I feel from the Intamins I haven't ridden (Expedition GeForce, Goliath, MegaLites) compared to the B&Ms I haven't ridden (Hollywood Dream, Silver Star, Diamondback), Intamin would destroy them.

I think perhaps more B&Ms would have a chance if they had less mid course/trim brakes.

We usually don't allow debates like this (between manufacturters, parks or coasters) on TPR.

Read through the replies hear and you will see why this is being locked. Besides the fact that people argue about what's a Giga or a Mega or a Hyper we get too much speculation.

Responses like "I've never ridden any", "I've only been on one", "I've heard", "My friend's dog thinks"
