Last time...it was as if everyone stayed. It just like adding 2 additional hours to the main operation. It was completely pointless if you are expecting good ERT.

I am going to SFGAM tomorrow! Hopefully it won't be 93 like today

^ Dude I'm going to! Keep an eye out for me... I'll be wearing a grey Michigan shirt.

It is suppose to be cooler and kind of stormy. (I love SFGAm when it rains!)

Are there huge crowds during the Coasters After Dark events? I've always wanted to go, but I always seem to forget when they are. Plus they end at 11pm or midnight, and I need my beauty sleep or I'm a little crabby at work the next day.

We went to the first one this year. It wasn't bad but not good either. The problem was more of how they checked the cards. Kids would just try to run past the emploee and then the line would be held up when they were explained to about needing a season pass. The other problem was they let groups there that day, so that added a bunch of people.

We left after the first hour, but we got on Iron Wolf (walk on), Spacely Sprocket Rocket (1 train wait) and Batman (20-30 minute wait), King Chaos (walk on) and Dark Knight (walk on.) Ragin Cajun's line was about 50-60 minutes still. The lines were getting shorter as the people in line from right before close were getting their rides. So I would imgaine the lines would not be bad in hour 2.

They purposely put CAD events on bring a friend for 1/2 price day or something like that so season passholders friends will upgrade their tickets to SPs.

Cameron, Abra and I went last night, as we decided Wednesday was much too hot. Crowds were heavy but the lines were short. In two hours we rode Whizzer, Demon, Iron Wolf, and Batman.

Lovely night to just wander.

Speaking of America's Got Talent, Drew Thomas made it through to the Vegas round. He once had a show at the old Theatre Royale. I'd like to say I saw his show, but I can't. I tried to see it, but about 5 minutes into the show an announcement came on stating they were having technical difficulties and the show will not go on. We left the theater feeling confused, and we never went back. I hope I didn't miss anything.

I hope it is not a Hurricane Harbour Expansion, or atleast they could use half that land but we really need a new flat ride.

I wonder back then way in 1994 when this ride was built, if that whole queue thing was filled up. Because it goes way back by the go karts and back up and more queue, then inside the building is more queue.

My all time favorite show on that was El Vira. The dinosaur show use to scare me as a child and I rarely went on it.

Given the proximity to HH and the parking lot I could see them making this a separate entrance area for HH while adding some new slides. Like it or not HH is a big draw for families and is packed when the mercury rises.

Posted

The worst part about HH is that the whole Southwestern Territory section of the park is always packed right when HH closes, so always get your RB and Viper rides in early.

Actually, thinking about the HH expansion might not be a bad idea. The line for HH forms once the 3k people limit is reached. (I think it is 3 thousand.)

But building a seperate entrance? I went to SFOT and it costs seperate to have a theme park pass and a water park pass and you can get a pass that is for both but more the price.

The line for HH can get over an hour long. Then they rely on people leaving for more people to enter.

Personally I would love to see a separate entrance to HH built. It will thin out the crowd at the main gate. Think of how many less bags there will be for security to check. SWT crowds would be lighter as well, especially when HH closes. Granted the walk from the main gate to SWT isn't that long, and they'll have to spend money to put in metal detectors, but still having a second entrance wouldn't hurt.

HHs capacity is about 8,000

^ and it hit that amount today. I went there around 5:30-6ish and they had signs that it was at capacity. There were a bunch of people waiting to get in as well. Was simply insane, but I did finally get a chance to ride Yankee Clipper for the first time.

I think the sign is there for another Fright Fest maze/area, just like last year when they put the same sign out.

I would like to see a Hurricane Harbor expansion and seperate entrance because, as someone said before, it's hitting capacity on most summer days. I'm thinking that if it is a HH expansion that they should put in something like Deluge, a master blaster type ride. They could put a flat ride on the same site, but Six Flags would probably put a new flat in the empty Splash Water Falls area before the SSA area.

HH is exactly what a free waterpark should be. Yeah its a good addition but so they make it a little bigger, its still gonna get filled to capacity during the summer despite there being an extra waterslide.
