Real
Heres a little about the track, a few things I dont think have ever been done. Not that Ive seen anyways: All ledgers (both Y ledgers and angle ledgers)are handbuilt to spec the real thing. All Wide Supports are built exactly to GCI (that I can tell) Station Fly Through (just gotta have one) Thinned all the supports to replicate the structure of GCI (also increases frame rates) Lots of air Lots of turns Lots of fun transitions Typical airtime / turning transitions of GCI both on entrance and exits to some elements Nothing particularly crazy. More of an experiment in Newton1 for me. Also decided since the track came out well to spruce it up with the most realistic supports Ill have ever done on a wooden coaster. Vekoma Fan Boy
It looks good! And where can I get newton now? I had it once, but I deleted it and now CoasterSims is down. EDIT: Never mind. I found it. For anyone who wants it, it can be downloaded at http://www.coastercrazy.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18947&whichpage=
DBru
This looks promising. (I suggest posting one of those pictures here, though, before a certain member opens this thread...)

Real
Your 10 ledgers dont count against my every single ledger on the entire coaster! Plus yours are nice and level. Try doubling up 2 support beams on 2 different axies. Then get back with me! I was listing everything too. I know station fly bys have been done. Its the other support work stuff I am most proud of. Real
LOL! Ledgers arent a NL thing, its a wooden coaster thing. The main brace at the top of each bent (a bent is a single vertical section of support) Normally twice the width vertically of the other boards. They jut out past the width of the track. I re-read your post, misunderstood your bolding (actually didnt see it) and wondered if you meant the ledgers you created that angled out past the width of the track as a brace. But then I saw you meant station fly by. I knew those existed. Heck, Ive seen a few myself. Im not naive to think they arent all over

Real
Yup and unfortunatly...that one doesnt exist anymore
Xpress
Yes, it's tragic Heath had to go, we won't ever see something like him ever again Meanwhile, these are ledgers. They basically connect the track to the support structure. GCI has tall ledgers, while GG/CCI or PTS usually uses more standard height ledgers. Intamin also has their own height of ledger. ledgers
jarmor
Yeah...I'll stick to the crappy wood creator. But hey, if you guys wanna put together an indepth tutorial for creating your own wooden supports then go for it! Jarvis "eagerly waiting..." Xpress
CCJared has been making a tutorial on how to support wooden coasters here: http://www.forums.coasterchamber.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=

Xpress
^Yeahhh, I forgot aout that. We're still working on the site, and only minimal content will be visible to the public. That's something we're going to make publically available. Meanwhile, why don't you go ahead and sign up, so you can see, hmm?
Real
Deadman is done (I think). Working on Ledgers and such now in the first turn around. Ledgers are done from station to this point with a few needing tweaked. This support work is going to take longer than expected...lol Two new pics here http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p5687
dr.gumbo
Seems to me that you've got the track shaping + supports nailed. Plus I like the large 3d footer (forgot what their technical term is lol) you have there. The only real thing I can complain about is the colours, they seem to be a bit too yellow but other than that, awesome work.
Real
Yea Im working on a color. I want that southern yellow pine color. So im sampling from pictures and trying to pull the right RGB values that will also mesh well with the environment settings. :/
CCJared
Real, I don't suppose I could test it could I? I'd like to see how you did shaping wise because I'm planning a GCI and I weill be fully hand supporting, so would It be ok to test and have a look at this? My email is: ccjared@coasterchamber.com if thats alright.

There wont be a distinction in size, so i guess thats the trade off. btw im banking each by hand and lining them up as well so they fuse as 1 board something tells me ill get mine done before yours too. I wish i had time to do supports all by hand. But this will suffice. btw, no testers. The ride is already done and with supports already commited to, i wont change anything
Guest
Because the auto supporter uses 10' spacing. With proper 6-8 spacing, the big beams look awful.
