Xpress Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Well, today at school was the last day of all of the class of 2009 seniors, 40 of which were friends. Well, I am pretty sure I will never see any of them again Also, I lost a close friend today, after she got expelled for pulling that shiney red lever we ALL want to pull (a friend friend). And i know for sure i'll likely never see her again So now I'm feeling depressed, and have no idea what to do. Oh, and BTW, my friend didn't get charged with felony accounts or anything. She just got expelled, and the school reported it as accidental. Anyone else in a position like mine currently?
Wes Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Can't you just add them on Facebook or whatever and keep talking to them? Or get their phone numbers or emails? It's much easier to stay in touch these days. I know it probably seems like the end of the world and you're never gonna see these people again, but seriously it's not that bad. I still see and hang out with a couple dozen of my close high school friends on a regular basis.
Homer Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Take Wes' advice. Also, if you're going to college, you will have a blast making new friends and partying. Not everything is going to be horrible.
Chris Benvenuto Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Wes' idea is the best, add them on Facebook. That's what I did with all my classmates and we all keep in touch that way! Always remember, Facebook is your friend when communicating with friends that have left hometown or out of reach.
jmicha Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Seriously, do as everyone is saying. I keep in touch with friends via facebook that I would never have if I didn't make an account. This is why I really fail to see the argument that social networking sites are actually hurting the population like some "experts" are saying. I keep in touch with several times more people from high school now than before I made a facebook account and added them. Technology is your friend.
Josh Linn Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 It gets worse when you're the one that actually graduates. I miss the hell out of high school.
Xpress Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 I have about half of them as friends on myspace, and the others are completely out of the internet revolution. And no, I have no way of getting their numbers, as those ones also don't use cells.. And no, it's not the same just talking to them via internet as it is in person.
astroworldfan1 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 You can try this: This will help you. Try it. It will work. -Tatum
holyblakbelt Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Facebook is my new best friend, but if you want the true "face to face" experience, try Skype as well. I even made friends that went to elementary school with me (on Facebook). Like Wes said, it's easier to stay in touch these days.
Carnage Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 You'll make new friends in high school. I have a handful of friends that I still hang out with from high school. Other then existing on Facebook, I don't hang out with anyone who I knew in junior high or earlier.
SakuraElizabeth Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Like some other people said, Facebook is a good thing. I would never get to talk to my high school friends otherwise.
larrygator Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Well, today at school was the last day of all of the class of 2009 seniors, 40 of which were friends. Well, I am pretty sure I will never see any of them again If you are never going to see them again then they probably weren't really friends.

And no, I have no way of getting their numbers, as those ones also don't use cells.. And no, it's not the same just talking to them via internet as it is in person. I guess it's better to complain about it to a group of strangers on a roller coaster message board than actually going out and trying to get their contact information so you can hang out with them (in person) in the future?? Seems like you're just wanting sympathy from us, as opposed to advice on how to fix your "situation".
RCFreak Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 So you can't get their mailing addresses so you can at least send letters and plan to see them in person again? I'm going to have to agree with Wes' last post, seems to be a cry for attention.
BeemerBoy Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Are your "friends" in a witness protection program or something? I mean I understand you may be feeling sad, but I'll be honest, none of this is adding up.
astroworldfan1 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 You can always do it the old fashion way. -Tatum "Your bound to see them again"
jmicha Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Seriously, if you really want to stay in touch, get their numbers. It's not hard to stay in touch with your good friends beyond high school. My best friend and I only get to see each other a handful of times a year unfortunately, but I talk to him every couple of days, sometimes more, on the phone or through facebook. And I'm going through a similar situation in college right now. Half of my friend from architecture/interior design are on the opposite co-op schedule, meaning I won't have classes with them until graduate school two and a half years out. My best friend in Cincy is on opposite co-op schedule, yet I talk to her every day. Heck, we even watch Family Guy on Adult Swim at the same time every night and talk through iChat. It does stink not being able to see some of your friends anymore, but honestly, if you're not willing to find any way of keeping in touch with them, that's no one's fault but your own in this day and age. Staying in touch these days is as easy as dialing a number, sending an email, facebook messaging, or writing a good ol' fashioned letter through the mail.
Xpress Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 I'm not ceying out for attention, sometimes I get the need to post random stuff like this. And I have tried to get contact info, but it hasn't seemed to work.
Chris Benvenuto Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 The friends you didn't get information from, aren't really friends and should be considered "school" friends. Like people you talk to in school, but really they don't care about you outside of school. About 370 students in my class graduated with me last year, I'm still in touch with about 250 of them on Facebook. I may not talk to them all, but I try to see what's going on with them and then move on. About 30 of my Facebook friends, are real friends from High School. The others I just forget about and move on with life. Seriously, I don't know what to tell you. Like others have said, some of this isn't really adding up.
Mechanic Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 A "friend" will help you move. A true friend will help you move a dead body.
