dino
Looks like you had a great time. You really seem to take great photos. Then again, is it even possible to take a bad photo of Diamondback?
Erik Johnson
I now have proof that I rode Diamondback! Thanks for hanging out with us that day.
cfc
Yep, it was good day at a park that was better than I'd expected. Excellent pictures, Zach--thanks for hanging out with us. I'll start posting my version of last weekend tonight. dougstanton wrote: Oh god. I was there and don't know about this amusing story haha. I am very scared. It really was a surprise to see all of you guys at the park...and then AGAIN the following day at Holiday World. Unfortunately I was with a group of non-TPRers because I would have definitely hung out with you guys for the rest of the day. We were pretty surprised when we saw your group at HW, too--one of those "Hey, weren't they at . . . nah." moments.
Divv3k
Great TR JZ, good to see some familiar faces in there too! I can't believe I actually want to go BACK to King's Island now! Diamondback really looks like a winner. I bet almost every Coaster Enthusiast who has ridden SOB Actually liked it a little, they just don't want to admit it since some people hate it, and they think they'd be considered noobish if they said they liked it. Nope, I hated it. Didn't like it one little bit. I rank it last out of the 360 coasters I've been on. If you like it then good for you. Even better for you that there will be a lot less people in line in front of you because people think it's a rough piece of crap. I think you do a lot of the posters on TPR a massive disservice by saying that they're not honest about their opinions on a ride just because you happen to disagree with them. jamesdillaman
^ Yeah, out of 201 coasters for me it's at the bottom. Come to think of it, looking at pictures of many rides here on TPR is better than riding SoB. I rode it twice this weekend, once with Guy and once with Chuck. It's the first year I've bothered to ride it twice, and as always: it stunk. Even without all the jackhammering, the ride layout is awful and always will be. My opinion, of course, but if you like it, you can ride it all day. One less person in the Diamondback line, as far as I'm concerned... -James Dillaman
shepp
Not everybody values force as much as you. I thought Batman at SFMM was the worst invert I had ever ridden because of the annoyingly tight layout. I prefer wide open speed and smooth curves. Agreed, though I figured I was pretty much the only person who felt that. B:TRs certainly don't strike me as "worst inverteds," like Vekoma SLCs, but when it comes to B&M inverts, give me Montu or Alpie every time. B:TRs are what I imagine riding spin cycle in a washing machine would be like. Now, Diamondback...dang, that looks like pure B&M swoopy, floaty goodness. Got me already planning a trip to Ohio. PKI Jizzman
Thanks for the kind words everyone! Ready for more? One last shot...Erik and Guy in the back seat for their night rides. Random Reptar. You could have any of these faces while riding the ride. Smiling, WTF, and ARRRGGGGGHHHH!!!! LOUD NOISES Noted. As if you didn't know the layout... Diamondback breaks down =( I head it was electrical problems with the brakes. How was your backwards ride, Erik? Intamin is always a great part of the day. Minus wierd little girls. THAI! TheStig
ATHF!!!!!!! And to the SoB guy, I left the park after riding SOB it was so terrible. I actually had a headache after the ride was over, and it made me say "screw it, I'm done." What a horrible waste of trees.

Roachman
Great pictures and trip report JZ! I loved seeing those line jumpers getting punted. Were they trying to line jump at SOB? If so, security should of just let them on and ride it a couple of times!

If so, security should of just let them on and ride it a couple of times! Well, SoB broke down for about 20 minutes. And this big group of black dude came out of the line, saying how dumb it was that it broke down and stuff like that. As they were hopping last the queues to get out of line.... SoB started back up and we were informed it was working. OFCOURSE...they group stopped, turned back around.."Oh yeaahhhh, we goin' to get out spot back!" They exclaimed, and started jumping the queues, and from what I heard....going allllllll the way up into the station, where there was already security. I have to give credit to Guy and especially Erik for taking charge about the line jumpers. Usually no one says much and just holds it inside...good job guys! Oh, and Colin....you're awesome! -Zach

Or the next level up...Passing out lol I just noticed on the Flight Deck picture, when were the seat belts added? I don't remember arrow swinging suspendeds ever having them. (I rode Vortex at CW like 3 years ago) Speaking of Flight Deck anyways, I love the "artistic shot attempt"! I love all artistic shots of any coaster. Erik Johnson
I should state for the record that for some reason I get really dizzy riding Boomerangs/Invertigos during the backwards part. That is why I usually end up cringing onto dear life while I ride (Endure it for the credit). Anyone who has sits next to me on these rides can and will be a witness to this. I sure hope there are less of these type of rides on the Texas trip when compared to the Behemoth/East Coast trip from last year.

I sure hope there are less of these type of rides on the Texas trip when compared to the Behemoth/East Coast trip from last year. The boomerang at Six Flags over Texas (named Flashback) is quite smooth for a coaster of it's kind. It did make me abit dizzy though because of the forces. As boomerangs/invertigos pull 5.2 g's max. The reason you get dizzy during the backwards part is because you can't see where you're going. That's why when you have motion sickness it's not good to close your eyes. (unless you're lying down for a rest of course). ~ Jess "I'm not really a doctor" Chan
