andyuk200523 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Ebay Link - Clicky What a bargain for a classic, would look great if you had a large garden! Wish I had more time to search on Ebay, might have found this earlier (wife digs me in side....we live in a flat.....good point!!!) Andrew
Calicoasters Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 That would have looked good in my living room! Someone got that thing for a steal!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I'd actually want to put it in my living room infront of the TV... So when those discovery channel rollercoaster shows come on, I know exactly what to do! Now if only I could afford it...
Shavethewhales Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Why are they selling it? Do they need to build a new one from the ground up, or did I miss the memo that this coaster is closing?
eBen Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Less than £40?? That seams a bit off. It would cost more to recreate just the side panel and hang it on your wall
andyuk200523 Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 The Rollercoaster at PBB has closed, there is no information at this time as to it reopening at all. £40 is very cheap, but it wasn't particularily well advertised that it was going for sale, guess the people that won this got lucky! Andrew
Speeddeamon128 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Rollercoaster is now closed at PBB? It is listed as operating on Rcdb. What is £40 in American money?
andyuk200523 Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 In the current exchange rate £40 works out as $59.19 Rollercoaster I believe has ran once or twice since the beginning of the year, but is officially SBNO currently and its future is uncertain. Andrew
DisWiz Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I think they should have put in the park up the street like they did with the old log flume log. The log looks quite nice with a bunch of flowers in it. But 40 quid? Is this actually legit? That seems waaaay low for the entire car.
megamatt Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Aww. Roller Coaster is closed? Its SBNO? Its so small that its not like they can remove it to make room for a new ride. Possibly its under refurbishment like Gold Mine was.

Andrew So PBB now has 2 rides SBNO Hopefully Rollercoaster will at least be operating again in 2010 when I head out to the UK.
Fallen Heretic Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Something to remember is that Rollercoaster now runs (or did run) old Big Dipper trains. The rollercoasters own trains (the ones on ebay) had not been used for a while. So even if the ride was remaining open, those cars would have shown up there anyway. They were running Rollercoaster when I was last there (feb), but thats only because Grand National was being worked on. I think its closed because its such a high maintenance ride and the visitor numbers to blackpool are way down. The park has been quietly struggling for a while. Eclispe (which was awesome) was replaced by Forbidden (which isnt). Hot Ice isnt showing this season. Even Devere isnt doing Mystique anymore. They need to save money, and an old ride which Ive seen break many lift chains is not helpful to them right now. Whether its a permanent move or not may depend on how the UK economy does or doesnt recover. One more thing... As the other ride which is SNBO is the space invader, they could fit something else in if they removed them both. The area of the space invader plus the turnaround of the Rollercoaster next to it could surely fit some sort of ride? Wow, thats an awfully big post for someone who should be working right now.
andyuk200523 Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 Found the website for the guy who has purchased this, he is following himself on his restoration of the car, quite interesting for work he is doing in his own garage! Clicky Andrew
kidcoaster 2 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Always is great when someone takes time to preserve rides and parts. I wish him luck on his restoraion project.
cycamps Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I'm really surprised it didn't go for more. It seems like it was a steal...
