Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Well I think last time I had a total blackout which was 3 years ago, I just had some pretty adverse reactions (which I never told a doctor about either). I think I might have actually gone into shock that time as I had never pulled such G's before that (yes, g-LOC can cause shock). I didn't really eat much that day and I was quite tired, so maybe that affected it? And my fear of heights too? I didn't do Dive Bomber Alley because of my fear of heights. Titan, Behemoth, other coasters etc don't really bother me that much as I know I'm not flyin' out of that train from 200+ ft up in the air! Titan I did panic abit going up the lift hill. I was covering my eyes with my hands and going "what goes up must come down...." over and over again untill we DROPPED! I had bruised my upper left leg on Judge Roy Scream earlier that day and I asked not to be stapled by the ride op because of my bruise and she was nice enough to listen. But the helix wasn't! ~ Jess "Warning: keep away from vulnerable heights" Chan
jazzimm Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Titan I did panic abit going up the lift hill. *a bit Yeah, I'm that tool who points out grammatical errors, but it's those kinds of things that set off my OCD. Anyways, great photo TR. I enjoyed reading it -Jazz "the grammar a--hole" Somers
paintballer Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Things to avoid G-loc, as a pilot who's pulled 11g's before Some kind of food in you stomache. Not to much, and not to little. Keep you eyes open. And do what we call a Hiccup Manuver. Just do some fake hiccups. Helps the blood even out. I dont black out on 9 g's anymore!
coolhandluke Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Sounds like a pretty good trip. SFOT has always appeared to be one of the prettier Six Flags, with a solid lineup to go with it. I started noticing a trend now with hypercoasters and Greek mythology names. Behemoth, Golaith, Titan, Apollo's Chariot etc. Whats with that? As a small mythology buff, just wanted to point out that Behemoth and Goliath are Biblical, and BGE uses the Roman Apollo (since it's in the Italy section). Sorry But Hydra, Medusa, Poseidon, Troy, and anything from Mt. Olympus are fair game. [/myth OCD]
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Nice PTR. I went last summer and I guess I lucked out because the park was not nearly as crowded. The longest wait was Mr Freeze at about 45 minutes. As for Batman as your first invert. Not a bad way to start things off. I've only been on three CUSTOM inverts and Batman totally puts them all to shame.
Guest Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 /\ Ive been on a lot of custom inverts (including Montu/Raptor/Alpengiest) and IMO BTR puts them all to shame.
tanthonyam Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Nice pics, but ughhh, way too many people! I hate crowded parks. I guess the economy is not that bad in Texas? Six Flags is not a cheap excursion.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Nice Photo TR. Batman is really smooth and I noticed that both the wingovers "jerk" you abit right before flipping you upside down. Batman seems to have so much forces that they give you no hangtime at all really. I swear I didn't even lift out of the seat once. I'd have to say that getting stuck getting off Batman was quite an embarassment... Everyone was looking at me and little kids were pointing their fingers at me. ~ Jess "Ooops I did it again" Chan
ChrisZer0 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 BTR is one of the smoother rides of its calibre, Im glad I didnt head out to the park last sunday as it looked packed...
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 ^^Silver Bullet IMO has more floater feeling, but there's no force to with the exception of the helix. I mean it's almost boring enough to take a nap on. Raptor was...well Raptor's jus there. Top Gun was fun, but way to short.
VegasCoaster Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The park is packed already? I would think it would still be early for crowds that large, granted we have better weather than most places too. I need to make it to Schlitterbahn, Kemah Boardwalk and SFOT before I graduate. Knocked out SFFT in under three hours this fall except the kiddie credit was under construction for Wiggles World.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Like I said before, Batman was my first ever time on a B&M invert. So getting stuck while trying to get off is not surprizing but embarassing. Has it ever happened to anyone else's first time on an invert? I just hope I'm not the only one...
Speeddeamon128 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Nice TR! It looks like you had a fun time. I need to get down there sometime.
sixflagsguy5 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) Was there a big person in your row on batman? If you push up really hard on most B&M restraints they'll stay locked until you stop pushing up (the entire row stays locked). If there's a person in your row who really had to work hard to get the restraint to lock, it'll do that, because their body is pushing up very hard on the restraint. I skimmed through your trip report, but you said you blacked out from titan? I've had minor blacking out on many rides, but not to the point where I have to go to first aid. Maybe try to get your tolerance for positive g's up. Even hanging upside down from a chin up bar might help you. I usually grow a tolerance for spinning through May and June and then I'm fine by July. Edited April 30, 2011 by sixflagsguy5
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 DId anyone ride El Conquistador or whatever it's called before? I'm so surprized it didn't didn't have much airtime despite I was sitting at the very end too. I was so dissapointed, especially for an Intamin ride. I was thinking maybe Acme Rock n Rocket would have morre as it turns you completely 360 degrees. Conquistador was the only flat ride I got to go on as I was really despirate to hit all the coasters but I missed 2 sadly.
TheRapidsNerd Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Looks like you had a good time at SFoT and the Titan "Victory" pic rocks. Mr. Freeze is still odd in red and blue, but I like the overall design of it anyway. Makes me want to do a Texas Tour in the coming years.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 Looks like you had a good time at SFoT and the Titan "Victory" pic rocks. Mr. Freeze is still odd in red and blue, but I like the overall design of it anyway. Makes me want to do a Texas Tour in the coming years. I'm sure you'll love SFOT as much as I loved it. Make sure you save Titan for last cuz it gives you a major headache especially if you're tired lol. I just went back home to my aunt's house afterwards and fell asleep. If it's very crowded that day, make sure you get a flashpass. Make that a flashpass gold if you want. It's worth the $62.00 as it cuts down the wait time by 75%! Titan, Texas Giant, Runaway mountain, Batman, and Mr Freeze etc were pretty much like walk ons for me!
MattC Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 The trip looks fun, good to see you had a nice time. Your Titan on ride photo makes me chuckle
