Electerik
FAIL! Not a single rapids shot. Oh dear! What was I thinking?? Enjoy!
Hang And Bang
Great TR of my favorite SF park! Makes me miss it terribly, especially since I doubt I'll get to make it down there this year. My only complaint about the place is the lack of flats, otherwise it's a great park. I've never had any horrific experiences with unruly guests, just the occasional disgruntled employee, but I've had that with virtually every corporate park I've been to. Electerik
While in Atlanta, we checked out the Georgia Aquarium. I never used to be much interested in aquariums, but Misty really likes them. As a result, I've been visiting a lot more of them, and they're really starting to grow on me. I'm including these photos for anyone who might be interested. But be warned: the closet thing to a credit here is a slide. The exit gift shop. So far, this is the best aquarium I've been to. Thanks for anyone out there who's still with me. :O) I have no idea what these are. I mean, beyond fish. Hello...? Anybody out there? Here be the tropical fish. Jellyfish are from Mars. No fish served in the restaurant, but there was an impressive selection of desserts. The Georgia Aquarium actually has four whalesharks. See? I told you it was big. The world's largest fish, the whaleshark. Underwater tunnel fun. The entrance to the world's largest aquarium tank thingy (at the world's largest aquarium complex). Beluga Whales The alligators really seemed to like this little girl. Isn't that sweet? How many seahorses do you see? Kind of a boring fish, but I like the photo. The aquarium is arranged somewhat like a shopping mall. You are in your house (presumably). The entrance lobby. It's strikingly cool/elegant in person. Ticket booths. They also had a (temporary) Titanic exhibit and a 3-D show, both upcharges. An interesting challenge...I guess I could have just taken the stairs. :OP World's Largest Aquarium

jkwan
My cousin had a wedding at the aquarium and they served fish. The food there was very good.
bgroodog
Looks like you chose the better weekend to go to SFOG... My friends drove all the way from Ohio and had terrible luck with the weather this weekend. Cold and rain kept the park pretty much closed all weekend. They didn't even ride a single coaster. Their first day the park opened but closed only after an hour and a half and it was reported that less than 200 guests showed up to the park on both Sat. and Sun. Lenaapple1974
Very awesome TR! Thank you for posting. I totally loved the aquarium. It IS huge! You have an Olympus right? I was trying to peg down the model number to check it out. I loved your shots. SFOG reminds me of SFGA. I guess because of the similar rides they have, Nitro (although named differently), Superman, Batman... Would it be worth it for me to ever check this park out? And also GASM - but this one is not the same as ours. I wonder why parks would name rides that are completely different, the same name. Totally baffles me. I would make a pit stop on my drive down to Orlando this year, if I did not have to get there to meet someone within a certain time.
Electerik
You have an Olympus right? I was trying to peg down the model number to check it out. I loved your shots. How on Earth did you know that?? Anyway, yes. It's an Olympus Tough 6000. But some of the photos are from Misty's camera, which is a Pentax Optio W10. This was actually my first park with my new camera, and I honestly wasn't very happy with the results. By the end of the trip, though, I had the camera pretty much figured out, and now I'm very happy with it. I'm sure I'll have more trip reports up in the next couple weeks--and those will be better. BeemerBoy
I'm sure I'll have more trip reports up in the next couple weeks--and those will be better. Don't sell this one short though. It was definitely enjoyable.

Ah...Ancient Chinese secret! Actually I saved one of the pics to see because I liked the picture quality. You can just tell the difference, even if you were't at your best yet with it, the quality of camera. I saw the model number and looked it up. LOL. I definitely enjoyed this TR, and look forward to your future reports! Now, when you go on rides, what do you do with your camera? I am scared to bring my good one (Nikon D40X) because I dont want it to get stolen while I am on the rides.
Six Flags Enthuseast
That's pretty cool! A huge aquarium is pretty cool, a lot cooler than one of those cheap ones.

STR8FXXXINEDGE
Thanks for sharing! I love aquariums, and I have always wanted to visit this one. P.S. I also think your photos turned out pretty damn good. I know it's super hard for me to take good photos of aquariums, so I can appreciate how clear and non grainy they are. 24
I actually remember going there. Nice pictures! That aquarium has the largest fish tank I've ever seen.
Electerik
^^ Yeah, aquariums are really tough: darkness, glass, water, and movement. It was more my SFOG photos that I was unhappy with. But not the ones I posted. I would have liked to have posted more, but most just weren't up to snuff. So perhaps instead of saying that my next one would be better, I should have said it will be longer. Anyway, thanks for all the kind words, everyone. Now, when you go on rides, what do you do with your camera? I am scared to bring my good one (Nikon D40X) because I dont want it to get stolen while I am on the rides. I stick with small cameras that I can keep in my pocket. I know a lot of people that leave their cameras in the car, then go back and get them for a "photo taking tour," but I prefer spontaneity and the ability to keep my camera with me at all times. So I'll probably never upgrade to a DSLR. And no, I didn't get the slide credit. I'm too old, apparently.
