I'm kind of bummed that I wish I would have known that in advance because I would have done the insane drive to Madrid. But on my schedule it said "set up" which I was supposed to be around for 'just in case' but it turned out that the producers weren't needed. Oh, well....I have to remember, this is a 'business' trip, not one of our fun trips! And there will be plenty of time this weekend for some parks! Anyway, today I took a walk around the resort, so here is my "Walking Around the Resort Photo TR!!!!" Here is a picture of the truck that just asked me for directions (well, ok, not the truck, the guy IN the truck...because, I mean, if there was actually a TALKING TRUCK I would have taken a LOT more pictures!) For some reason, in Portugal I have extra ridges on my forehead. Must be the water or somthing.... Here is another sign, but I'm not sure what this one means... Maybe it's "Be afraid of yellow spikey armed people with pigtails???" I think this sign means "In 20 meters SPEED UP so you can hit the golfers!!!" Hello, here I am in Portugal...um...yeah.... At least I can get a "Bench: The Ride" credit here! Here is the official entrance to the "Penha Longa" resort. Gee...I wonder which way the hotel is? Hmm...... Wow, whoever is staying in this room is lucky since it's guarded by these two evil statues! anyway... the guy asked me something in Portuguese and I politely responded "everything you are looking for is on the moon." He seemed satisfied with the answer and drove off! I hope he finds what he's looking for....on the moon!

davidmorton Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I just flew back to the UK (Manchester) from the US......after missing my connection in Chicago (stupid United) - I got an unexpected 24 hour lay over at the airport (ok they did spring to a hotel for the night) with no luggage (as it was checked in) (and not really the time or inclination to visit SFGAm). When I eventually got home this morning after 2 days travel....my luggage was still in Chicago. It'll hopefully get here tomorrow......by which time I'll have gone off to London for the rest of the week with my work.....I wonder where my luggage will go? Here's some more photos! Yay!!!!! (Wes must be happy about this!) This set will be called "The unnecessary detailed tour of my room." And finally, what every person who is bored in Portugal does....make a stack of pillows on your bed! I hope are all enjoying this random trip report! I swear there will be park photos soon! Here I am at my desk, typing all this good stuff to you. And yes, in case you are wondering, that *IS* a tray of butter I'm holding up!!! This is where I'm spending most of my time over the next few days. ...didn't anyone tell the interior designers that I actually have REAL windows and having pictures of them probably wouldn't be necessary? Ok, this I just don't get. There are pictures of windows in my room.... Just like DCA's Tower, my room has a hallway. Except you won't find people's random crap in my hallway....just my crap! As I go reaching for the €12 bottle of Jelly Belly's I hear in my head "You don't need those!!! Grrr!!! Watch your speed!!!!" I get British TV! Yay! They are...um....doing a story on...um...French people in a swimming pool. Yeah...why can't I get that high class British Porn? "Almost....almost....almost...there we go!" Here is my end table with the phone I use to call Elissa when I'm bored or horny. Mostly bored, though. There is a bible there and oddly enough it's the smallest bible I've ever seen! It's almost a pamphlet. I thought these people liked the Jebus dude I have a safe in my room. As you can see, my head doesn't fit in it. I just thought I would check, you know...just in case. There are two invisible people in my closet. For some odd reason, they have assumed the "MiB" pose. At least it's not an evil monkey! Here is my mini-bar, filled with all the important things...Red Bull, Nordic Mist, Vodka...I think I'll have a coke, please! Someone mentioned being annoyed by people who take pictures of themselves in a mirror. Whoever that was, this one's for you! Let's see...one of them is a receipt from a coke I bought at the mall (you know the stupid mall with the stupid CLOSED coaster!!!!! grrrrrr).
