the ghost Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I took everyone's advice, so this park is build your own Six Flags Park, which is a scenario created by the game. I will be using a money mod as the park is currently in debt. And, to make the park as realistic as possible(not having to add a new ride every season) there is a ratings mod so the park does not close, because it is not a custom scenario. It is written from the perspective of Coloradocoaster(a coaster nerd like the rest of us.) __________________________________________________________ Mark Shapiro has recently said Although Six Flags has had to sell Elitch Gardens, Denver is still a very profitable town. It is the opinion of the entire board, that some property should be bought, and an entirely new park will be started from scratch. Culminating in state of the art white knuckle thrill rides, to unique family rides. (That quote was from 2006) property had already been bought, because Six Flags realized Elitch was not doing well, and was not a profitable property. One year ago the park opened, and has so far been doing very well. Due to the fact that this is a coaster enthusiast website, I have a list of all the coasters and descriptions(there are pictures of everything.) Hurrikai- A unique Arrow/Vekoma looper. This coaster was built by Vekoma using arrow parts and is a custom tracked corkscrew coaster. It is currently the worlds only coaster to feature a cutback inversion, originally featured on the defunct Drachen Fire Roller Coaster which once operated at Busch Gardens Europe. Colorado Comet- This coaster was originally proposed by Harry Traver, one of the most famous ride makers in history due to the infamous Crystal Beach Cyclone. The coaster however, was never created due to Traver's death. The blue prints were given to GCI by Traver's grandson, in hopes that his Grandfathers final roller coaster could be designed. GCI liked the design and kept the original name(the comet) except, the name was changed to the Colorado Comet. It will be redesigned to feature modern banking, as well as the patented GCI millennium flier trains. Timber Twist- This coaster is an Intamin Spiral coaster with a spiral lift, and people seem to be extremely excited about it. The Colorado Comet will be posted tomorrow, my camera is messed up. SCR312.BMP Here is the shot of the parks midway, it is near hurricai and timber twist. SCR313.BMP This was pretty gross, although, a few minutes later, a janitor ran over. I felt kind of bad for the guy. He did not look happy with his job. i don't know why this ride broke down. SCR320.BMP Here is some nice arrow pictures, it is smooth for an arrow/vekoma SCR319.BMP An awesome view of hurricai's cutback SCR322.BMP Lets do the twist, The timber twist
DBru Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Your scenery is getting much better, and I especially like the spiral coaster. My only advice to this is to not make the roofs look as repetitive (like all the points on Hurrikai's station). Please keep improving on this park, and continue to take everyone's advice; it's working for you!
the ghost Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 I will fix the roofs in the next update, because I was planning on fixing them anyway, so they will hopefully look better. Thanks for the awesome advice and compliments, and there is no good reason why this park should no actually be completed unless my computer or disk break, both of those being among the worst things I could think of.
Bob! Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I think you'll have to make landscaping to make your park better But yours rides are really cool!
the ghost Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Thank you, there will be a lot of landscaping done in the next update( Its too hard to landscape well when you are still playing with money) Thanks for your comments guys, and keep em coming!
astroworldfan1 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 How long will this one last? It's looking good so far. -Tatum
the ghost Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 Thanks, I actually plan on finishing. I will post the comet tomorrow, but have recently uncovered a rumored attraction that will be coming to the park soon. I found this on scream scape! Enjoy, and hopefully we will see an official press release soon. Hopefully coming soon.
ReadySetGo! Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I like all of it so far!And the stations...Do you just do the walls first and then the roof or do you do it the other way around? I always have the hardest times building stations and stuff...
the ghost Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 I make the walls first, but I always try to make the buildings look as nice as possible. Honestly, all you really need to make nice buildings is the scenery the game provides. Good luck with your future projects, and happy building. Thanks for the comments guys More will be coming soon!
the ghost Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Sorry for the double post, but I need to ask you guys a question. What do you want to see a monster house hotel themed to? I am thinking Chowder's Cafe, Skulls Sweets, Or any other ideas you have. Please give me your input.
the ghost Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Here is a mini update, including the first showing of Colorado Comet. There should be a fuller update a little later this week, but I need to edit some pictures. Here is what I have for the week. I got to ride the Commet on opening day, cause it opened a little after the park opening, and I've gotta say, it is awesome. In my opinion, as long as they keep this coaster running well, it will be great! There was a lot of dust and there looked like there were tools for some sort of major construction. I am kind of starting to think scream scape was wrong, and that this may be the new family coaster/ dark ride. Although, I am still pretty sure it's themed to monster house. I will keep up the picture until I know for sure, but I just don't know. Scenic Tower will be new for next season, and will give guests quite a view from 300 feet in the air. The tower has recently been erected, and the vehicle(rotating tower) is supposed to arrive next week. I am going to an ERT event soon, so I should be able to get some pictures and information about what is happening around the park. SCR334.BMP See all that dust by the entrance? I think that's prep for monster house. SCR327.BMP Here is a much better view of the layout. SCR333.BMP There is the comets full layout along with the recently erected "Scenic Tower"
the ghost Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 OMG, really guys! please give me some comments, I need to see what needs to improve and whatnot and cant tell if you like what I am doing or not, so until I get at least 3 comments I am not doing an update. Sorry I sound kind of like a jerk, but I need to know what to do besides landscaping and new roofs(both will be in the next update) NOW ON TO PARK NEWS Monster House 4D is dead, however(look at screen shot caption for the rest of the sentence ) SCR338.BMP However, monster house the ride(not official name or color) is very much alive when it is the parks main attraction next summer!
Stoksy Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Not bad Ghost, not bad at all. Monster House is looking good so far. Keep going, this is heaps better than Camden Park. The corkscrew coaster is looking good, and so is the woodie. Things to improve on would be the positioning of the stations, try to build more stations in the air, not on the ground. Then you can use more scenery, either underneath or on top.
the ghost Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Thanks! 2 more comments and you guys get the Monster House Construction Tour update. After monster house I will try to buikld more stations higher up.
Kalepi_Konei Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I'm commenting on this because I want to see the Monster House construction tour, so someone below me COMMENT now! Or face monster house's rath!
Team Thriller Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Looking good. But what is the point of all those restrooms at the parks entrance? --James
Pufferfish Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I really like this park. It has a very calm and classic feel to it. I don't really see anything off the bat that I would change for the betterment of your park. I think this is your best park yet, keep up the good work!
the ghost Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Looking good. But what is the point of all those restrooms at the parks entrance? --James Oh I forgot to take those out, It was originally done for the beginning before using ratings trainers to make sure the park did not close. You guys rock, and thanks for all the comments. The monster house construction tour as well as the park update will be posted within the next few hours.
BelgianGuy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I don't know, there's just something to your building style I don't get ghost really, I always get the impression its unfinished in a way. Like for example the woodie has a great layout but the theming looks rushed and not so well thought through if might say so, I know i have the "too many windows" disease (no I don't work for microsoft ) but you just don't use any as far as i can see. I'd suggest making some landscaping around the coasters, more complex and detailed stations and better foliage around the coaster I don't want to put you down with your park, I'm just saying what I think needs improving -Stijn-
the ghost Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 ^ Thanks for your input, which I will try. There will be windows coming soon, and there will be something involving landscaping in the official update. Sorry guys, my sister needed my laptop to work on an essay for school tomorrow, so I am using my other computer that does not have roller coaster tycoon. I promise I will post right after swim practice(I wish it snowed here) I feel kind of like a dick, but not much I can do about it now. SCR358.BMP see you tomorrow!
the ghost Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Guys, we were rained out last night. However, the event was this morning and I just got back. There was some decent air, and there were some awesome drop ride segments and special effects. There was also an amazing outdoor part. SCR357.BMP More markers everywhere. SCR355.BMP See those strange markers on the ground. They are supposedly there for future landscaping. SCR353.BMP Some new theming was added to the comet. This building is designed to look like a water wheel. SCR352.BMP The vehicle for sky view towers arrived. It will open soon. SCR356.BMP There is the rides station. As well as chowders chicken. SCR358.BMP The small greenhouse building gives an awesome head chopper. SCR342.BMP The house SCR344.BMP There is a dark ride section where part of the house collapses, it is followed by the rides largest drop of 20 feet and a top speed of 25 SCR346.BMP The entire rides layout
Stoksy Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. I LOVE Monster House. EXCELLENT work Ghost!
the ghost Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks! There will be an update probably on Tuesday. It may be posted on Monday, if I don't go to DL on Monday. My pass will expire soon, so I may be working on a photo TR if I get some nice shots with my camera. Anyone have any ideas for the park? I am thinking of making a log flume, and there will be a huge food court near the front of the park. If anyone has other ideas, please let me know.
themeparkman25 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I think you should make something Colorado themed, since the park is SF over Denver. Maybe some giga coaster named avalanche or perhaps a gold mine themed ride.
the ghost Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 I am planning on that in the future, these are the "developmental" phases of the park. The next MAJOR project will involve Colorado!
