jmicha Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Okay, so my friend was showing me a funny video that involved a creepy doll, and in one of the related videos was a picture of...well...a creepy doll. So I clicked on the related video and watched it and was utterly confused as to what the heck was going on. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=The+Weirdest+Kewpie+Creepy+Dolls&search_type=&aq=f Those are all of the videos for this strange doll, and I though I'd share this with others, as I really have absolutely no idea what was going on in those videos and would really love some insight into these dolls. I understand the concept behind them (they are capable of changing into something else from their baby form) but I really don't understand the crazy advertising for them. The "gross" doll definitely has the strangest commercial (if that's what these are) and really made me question this world.
Bucket Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 All I got to say to those Kewpie commercials is... WHAT. THE. F*CK. I want one though... especially earwax baby.
jmicha Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Lol, that's exactly how I felt after watching them. There's really no explanation for what's going on.
DarkStitch626 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 What in the world. That my friends is the most un-explainable thing in the entire universe.
TheRapidsNerd Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 ........ Delayed reaction. Damn that was weird!
Manny In England Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 My fragile mind, warped forever. I wonder if it all makes perfect sense if you speak japanese.
Kalepi_Konei Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 ^ Even if you understood Japanese it still probably wouldnt make sense. I want one though.... Next Japan TPR trip I'm going just to get a freaking kewpie doll, I could see these becoming the next Yeti Ball of TPR. Kalepi "What in the hell just happened" Konei
Dorneypark_fan Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Was that suppose to be two-face or something?
jmicha Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 ^ I have no idea, but I find it extremely interesting how this type of advertising is completely acceptable in Japan, but would never be allowed to be seen anywhere on public television here in the United States. I mean, seriously, in the "gross doll" one, he pulls the upside-down man by his...manhood...which is obnoxiously huge. and why exactly do their heads explode at the end? In the "grandpa doll" one, when he searches through his undergarments for the flashlight, it definitely looks like he's doing something he should not be doing on television .
ebl Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 This video was particularly creepy. Japan is pretty...WTF?!? already---at least going by what we've seen in TPR updates from there. Eric
Manny In England Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Wikipedia says that the Kewpie is the mascot of Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. I'm glad they chose the Kewpie and not the thing in the first video.
jmicha Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Lol, I think some parents would have serious problems if the upside-down man was the mascot.
TheRapidsNerd Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Did anybody notice HOW updside down guy was drug into the scene after being shot? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't by the tail. Then there's the man in green overalls with a "curious" pink hat and big pink shoes. I think my cerebellum just fused...
jmicha Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 ^I know, it took me a couple times until I noticed how the guy was dragged into the scene. Really quite disturbing.
Kennyweird Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 This video was particularly creepy. Japan is pretty...WTF?!? already---at least going by what we've seen in TPR updates from there. Eric This one is far worse.
ihani Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 That was... so disturbing. I just watched the gross one, what the heck just happened? What does the upside-down guy have to do with anything?
