TBpony414 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I'm honestly just shocked that the headsets are free to use - seems like the perfect kind of upcharge, even if it's only a couple bucks. I was under the impression it was an uncharge but hearing that it's not, I'm in! Slightly concerned about dispatch times being longer with the VR sets but time will tell. The only ride I ever see the ops hustle on there is Joker's Jinx. SFA is going to be seeing more of us with this and now HITP this year too!

Good news is that you'll actually start to set it up between trains.
Highridin Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Well, whether intended or not, SFA has gotten some publicity on one of our major morning news shows. That will help bring folks in.
Highridin Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 So far, very positive reviews on the VR at SFOG. There were no complaints. No assigned seating, etc. Looking forward to this.
Vonni Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 ^ According to the SFOG thread, the capacity was atrocious
Highridin Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Yeah, I saw that. There are always growing pains. Only time can tell if it will work. Good news is that everyone seemed to like the experience though.
Highridin Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 This sums it up: "The ride experience was crazy though! So good! It just really needs headphones built into the strap that goes around your head. With full audio it would be completely immersive. The VR was still ridiculously awesome though and made the ride very intense!" Still, they have to square away the wait issue.
Highridin Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I'll take that , and, the new trains and paint on Superman.
coasterbill Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Congratulations again on Holiday in the Park. It's probably safe to assume it'll be the best addition to this park in over a decade. They do an incredible job with it.
coneyislandchris Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Very cool! HITP was an amazing experience last year at SFGAdv, and if they do even half a good a job with it down SFA way, you guys should have a blast.
Highridin Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Yeah, I had a good time at HITP @ GA. Now I don't have to drive to NJ though.
Jman0477 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Did anyone else notice the calendar on six flags America page? the hours were posted through spring break are now gone? they are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for easter then open only weekends? I know locals have been planning to go the week of spring break Hopefully this is a error on the website anyone heard anything?
Jman0477 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Just got a reply back from six flags the website was experiencing technical issues with the calendars for certain parks They will be open for spring break
Highridin Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Whoever made the decision to run one train on everything today needs to be beat. Great amount of people in the park today after the rain. Looks really good in there. Basically every sign, counter, and wall is new or has been repainted. A few flats have been repainted. Ops actually did pretty good for being a first day. Actually, I'll be happy if they stay that way, save for a couple of slow experiences. Can't have everything I guess. I'll post pics and such at the end of the weekend. I missed a few things today. Had to go to work.
Highridin Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 From what I'm hearing/understanding, Memorial Day.
SuperShawn Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Any indication when Superman VR might start? The Superman ride ops today were saying "be sure to come back in June for the VR".
coasterbill Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Whoever made the decision to run one train on everything today needs to be beat. I love how you say "today" as if this hasn't been the policy on almost everything at this park every day, forever.
Highridin Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Lol,..maybe I should have said most days. Not on Saturdays and some Sunday's during the summer, or during fright fest.
Jman0477 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Just saw on the six flags America site to check out new superman trains? any updates on this?
Highridin Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Lol,..it's a trick. They are refurbished. The new wheels go along way though. I had to ride several times, and a friend of mine marathon rode a couple of days; It seems quicker than usual, and doesn't lose 'as much' speed in the second helix.
coasterbill Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Just saw on the six flags America site to check out new superman trains? Is the "s" at the end of "trains" a typo? I wasn't aware they even had another one since we usually go during Fright Fest and they still run 1.
