Pufferfish Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Razor Thrills is proud to present their second park. Located in Rock Hill, SC, 30 minutes south of Charlotte. The park's name is Rock Hill Adventure Park. This new park will be no near as large as Golden River, but Mr. Williams promises to deliver the same type of excitement and atmosphere. With the constantly growing population in the area, this is a much needed addition to the small city. On to the pics! SCR18.BMP Until next time... SCR17.BMP The currently small midway with Waveswinger, Wild Bus, an arcade, and a food court. SCR14.BMP The Vekoma Rollerskater, Early Bird Express. SCR16.BMP The rest of the layout. SCR15.BMP First drop and loop. SCR13.BMP Intimidator, the park's B&M Standup. SCR12.BMP Layout. SCR11.BMP The park's Arrow Multilooper, Jet Stream. SCR10.BMP The rest of the layout. SCR9.BMP The lift and first drop. SCR8.BMP The first coaster, Splinter. SCR7.BMP Here's a better look at the entry plateau with the bathrooms and vending. SCR6.BMP Welcome to Rock Hill Adventure Park!
Kingbooba Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 OK, first off, I don't really like the walk into the entrance. What if someone were to fall in the water if this was real? Please try to fix that if you can. Also, Jet Stream, Intimidator, and Early Bird Express all look rather un-realistic. I would edit their layouts and scenery. But on a positive side, I love Splinter!!
DBru Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Pretty nice so far! I love the entrance area (but I'd add some fences...), and I also like how the main midway goes right under the woody
TexTitan01 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Sorry to continue the string of bad comments, but although the scenery for the entrance is alright, thats where it ends. The rides and footpaths beyond the main plaza seem too effortless and they feel like they were just plopped down unrealisticly. Also, none of the rides have any major theming elements besides the station buildings, which themselves couldnt hurt to be spruced up more. Just building tunnels around the drop points and building fences and such around the paths could make it better (see my parks in my thread for what I mean). On the upside the park isnt crazy sprawled out, and I like the woodie you have. I just think the park could use a little green effect.
Hand 0f Time Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 To many coasters in 1 small area. Your probably not even 1/10 filled up the required map area. And already have 4 or 5 coasters. You need to space them out further and add some flat rides, more scenery, and stalls. Space them out.
Pufferfish Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 Sheesh guys i just started this one. I guess with me doing this one right after Golden River you'd all pick up on my style. Kingbooba: What do you mean by my coasters are unrealistic? What makes them so? Also I cannot go back and add fences as, I forgot to do that in the scenario editor stage. So I'll just have to be a rebel and let the guest be sure to stay out of the ponds themselves . Hand Of Time: Actually, the area of the park I have shown is a little more than a quarter of the available map space. The flats and stalls are being worked on, the main midway is in the middle of expansion, I'm working most of the flats around that. Also I have two different food courts which is enough for the small area currently occupied, more will be added with future expansion. TexTitan01: I know there's a lack in theming, but the park is supposed to be generic, I'm in the process of adding more buildings though. I do have a tunnel on Jet Stream, so my park isn't totally without cool elements . DBru: Thanks! Thanks for the comments guys, criticism is always invited. It's the only way skills can grow. I'll try to have another update up within the next couple of days.
upside down Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I really like the entrance bulding and all the coasters look nice.
Pufferfish Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 Update! The main midway has been extended with three new flats, a new food court, new restrooms, and a new racing woodie. Onto the pictures. SCR8.BMP Overview, see you in another couple of days! SCR7.BMP The awesome bridge over the midway. SCR5.BMP Turn around... SCR4.BMP The new racing woodie, Racer. Hey CF, one side is run backwards. SCR3.BMP A better look at the new flat rides. SCR2.BMP The other two a topscan and Huss jump. SCR1.BMP The first of the three new flats, Thunder Storm.
angryemobeaver Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Looking good! I never knew RCT2 has a Huss Jump2!
Hand 0f Time Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I like the thought of making the building/bridge of the Racer coasters.
Pufferfish Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Update! Well, after a nice long time without internet, I finally have a new update. The star attraction has finally been built! New this time is a new scrambler named Trellis Twister. Also the star coaster at the park, a Maverick-like Intamin mini-hyper, Ground Breaker! Onto the pics! SCR15.BMP Next time, log flume and more flats! Stay Tuned! SCR12.BMP Overview of the layout. Yes you do see 4 trains, and no they don't stack. SCR11.BMP Second lift into the mountain. SCR10.BMP The awesome over-water portion. SCR9.BMP Going down the first drop. SCR13.BMP Here's what you came for! Ground Breaker! SCR14.BMP Here's the new scrambler. I really like the theming, but I think it is too close to Early Bird Express.
DBru Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 The new coaster is alright, but I really like the scrambler! (Maybe add some white/yellow fencing around the flowers?)
thomas2 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Cool new coaster (altough you should raise the first turn out of the station into the lifthill because building it on the ground is a nono IMO), and kudos for the bridge of the wooden coaster!
Pufferfish Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 Update! New this time is a log flume, Depth Charge. Also, two new flats were added, a Himalaya and a frog hopper. Also on a very happy note, the railroad has finally opened! Onto the pics... SCR27.BMP Until next time! Comments welcome. SCR19.BMP Final drop out of mountain. SCR18.BMP Indoor second lift... SCR17.BMP First drop... SCR20.BMP Depth Charge and Bombay Burgers. SCR21.BMP The new Himalaya. SCR22.BMP The new frog hopper, Trellis Leap. SCR26.BMP The Trellis station. SCR25.BMP The station by Ground Breaker. SCR24.BMP The station by Racer. SCR23.BMP The main station of the now open railroad.
DBru Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The new additions are good, especially the new flats! You are doing a LOT better job on themeing the flat rides in this park compared to Golden River!
upside down Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I really like this. It all blends in to eachother.
Pufferfish Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Update! Updates are becoming very sparse now as graduation is quickly approaching. This might be the last one until after the 27th. This update has the addition of three new rides and one new eatery. There is one new flat, one new skytower, and one new coaster. The coaster has stolen the title of tallest in the park. Onto the pictures! SCR11.BMP Until next time! It's looking almost done isn't it? SCR6.BMP Final break run. SCR5.BMP Drop from MCBR into double corkscrews. SCR4.BMP Zero G and cobra roll. The tunnel under the log flume is great fun. SCR2.BMP Drop, loop and immelmann. SCR1.BMP Now what you've been waiting for, the new coaster, Apocalypse! You even have to go through the end of the world to get there . SCR8.BMP The new restaurant, The End Sundries. It's probably the best food in the park. Excellent burgers and shakes. SCR7.BMP The new flat, Ring of Fire. It's almost exactly like its clone in Golden River. SCR9.BMP The new skytower over by Racer. It gives very good views of the park.
the ghost Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Your work is great but your park is very unrealistic. You cant realistically have a major coaster every update. The park is looking great though and I like this better than rock hill so nice work.
